About this property

Country Estate on Working Farm

Modern twist of a farmhouse styled home, this 2-story house has great space and great amenities. Pinterest comes alive in each room mixing family heirlooms and an eclectic vibe in the details. Beyond the house, there is eye-candy overload with a bounty of gardens and scenic mountain views right out your window and goats to visit. This 75-acre family working farm just 20 minutes south of Chattanooga plus close to Cloudland Canyon, The Creag at McClemore, and Chickamauga National Park.

High Point Farms host many weddings throughout the year but in-between those, we offer this home for lodging options (along with two other on-site houses, if desired). There are gorgeous mountain views right out most of the home windows with amazing sunsets to boot. The farm has boutique flower gardens where we seasonally grow cut flowers to facilitate our wedding business as well as some community events too. The farm is a private estate so it is not open to the public and we never host weddings during your stays - fyi. That said, we are often in the gardens planting and maintaining our gardens, grandchildren may be riding their horses, or even photographers with photos sessions around and about the farm. There is plenty of space and privacy in this house but you do get a sense of being on a real authentic working farm - albeit it too with a modern twist.

The house is a two-story home with the main floor being on top. It is not handicapped friendly nor infant proof so no children under three. It has a very spacious common area with the kitchen, dining, and living room area semi-joined. There is an extra long farmhouse table to seat everyone with ease and room to spare. There are three TVs scattered around the house and fiber internet provides great reception.

There are two other lodging houses on the property for those who want to schedule a family retreat or reunion.

There are many common areas to enjoy on the farm; meandering the gardens when in season, visiting the animals at various pasture fencelines, and making the loop around the hayfield with the views. Please do not go into any of the barns, any of the fenced pasture areas, and avoid the owner's houses (signs posted to help determine).

With us being a working farm, we do have Great Pyrenees dogs on the property who are very friendly but their job is to protect their herd of goats, chickens, cows, and horses. If you are careful, you may feed Ritz type crackers to the goats through the fences. Be cautious since there is often an electric fence wire on top or bottom of the livestock page fencing. Avoid feeding the horses. Though they are all very friendly, horses have large teeth and your fingers can easily get confused with food.

We do allow you to bring your dog as long as you abide by a few guidelines. $50/pet fee per dog. Do not allow your dog to be on the furniture or the beds. Do not leave your dog unattended inside unless the dog is crated. When your dog is outside, keep it leashed or under total verbal control. Bag up any of your dogs poops and drop into the outside garbage can under the deck.

Upgrades available:
1. Bonfire ($50) The bonfire pit is located by the Venue barn. It is encircled with cafe lights and adirondack chairs. Liability concerns require us to build the fire, light it, then let you enjoy the area exclusively.
2. Guided Farm Tour via Golf-Cart to learn about the Farm history and its activities. Takes almost an hour ($25)
3. Fresh Farm Bouquet $25/$35/$50) when in season
4. Fresh Farm Eggs $8/dozen
5. Visiting the goats at the fencelines are free of charge to enjoy but for those who want a "personalized" goat visit, choose this upgrade.($25).

*No Electric Vehicle Plug-Ins.
*No Smoking or Vaping of any sort Inside the House (always dispose of any cigarette butts in outdoor cans).
*No Children under 3 - Safety wise with all of the stairs and with a host of heirlooms in the house.

Restful and beautiful location!
Fantastic hosts, and beautiful property. My son and I came here to rest and recharge, and it was the perfect location. It was our first visit to the Chattanooga area, and the home’s location was perfect, and offered an escape from the hustle around us. The dogs, horses, and goats were such a joy to be around! We can’t wait to visit again!

Relaxing Visit
In the area for family wedding activities with our two sons and their girlfriends. The farmhouse was a wonderful alternative to sterile hotel rooms. Relaxed on screen porch with our morning coffee. Played fetch with Jed, fed the goats and petted the horses. Wish we could stay longer!

Farmhouse stay
Owners responded quickly, goat time was great and we loved their dogs. The house is an older farmhouse but stocked overall well. Suggestions: put a toaster in the kitchen as we brought bagels for the kids and there wasn’t a toaster. Also get some larger coffee mugs. We had to go buy a couple as there was only tea cups there.

Amazing host with an amazing property!
What a beautiful location. The house sits on a hill overlooking a vast farm with chickens, goats, horses, and work dogs. Our kids loved the animals and run across the field. The house is comfortable with a very large common area. The host was responsive and helped us greatly when our travel plans changed. Highly recommend.

Gracious hosts, great communication, lovely property. We spent our days doing all of the Chattanooga tourist things & this was such a pretty ‘home base’ to come back to. The kids had fun exploring the farm & visiting the animals as well!

Hard to find a single bad thing to say about our visit other than it was way too short. Super responsive and friendly host. Great venue. Loved the goats. Friendly dogs to pet. Wonderful layout for our Thanksgiving dinner. I can't wait to come back.

Lovely Family Getaway
We did a short family trip here with 5 adults and 3 children, and had a great time! The house is spacious with plenty of room for all of us. The beds and couch were comfy. It's one of a few buildings, which include a lovely barn wedding venue, another guest house, and a small treehouse. There is a garden, goats, horses, and so much land!! Our pup really enjoyed the space to run. The views of Lookout Mountain are beautiful and it's close to hiking!

Beautiful family farm!
We absolutely loved our stay! I was looking for a place that we could slow down and connect and this was the perfect spot! I wish I could share all my pictures of the beautiful farm and views of Lookout Mountain. My boys loved exploring the open areas and became best friends with the dogs and goats. The farmhouse was so special with touches of its history all around! You’ll feel like you are stopping in to visit family. My husband and I spent a lot of our time on the screened porch overlooking the beautiful flowers and barn setting. This is a working farm so it was also a great way to teach my boys (10 and 12) what hard work and responsibility looks like with the owners and their family working (even in the rain) to complete their daily chores. Anytime we drive near the Chattanooga area we will plan a stay here!

Fabulous Farmhouse, Beautiful Property, Friendly and Helpful Owners
My family of 7 stayed at Mimi’s Farmhouse for a Spring Break trip. We had an incredible time. The hosts were incredibly gracious and hospitable. It is located just far enough outside of town to be quiet and relaxing, yet close enough to get to the city without spending most of your time driving. We loved feeding the goats, playing with the dogs, and petting the horses. David was so helpful with suggesting things to see and places to eat. We even got a special visit from Margie, who brought over a couple baby goats for the children (and adults) to hold. My kids wanted to stay indefinitely! It was a perfect fit for our family, who loves animals, being in the country, and having plenty of space. If we return to the Chattanooga area, we will definitely try to stay here again,

Great place for family and dog
Absolutely loved the setting (totally seeing the magic of getting married at the The Barn at High Point), the farm and Mimi’s Guest House. What a great place to get back and forth to the sights of Chattanooga and Lookout Mountain. Loved seeing the horses and feeding the goats. House was great, accommodated us quite well with almost every amenity we needed. Thanks again!

Friendly farm
I fell in love with this farm! The owners were great and super friendly! I loved walking the huge property and visiting all the animals they had. It was also just fifteen minutes from lookout mountain all the caving we do. I would definitely stay here again. They also use this place for weddings so the grounds were beautifully manicured.

Christmas Getaway
Our family had an awesome time. Staying on a working farm, we feed the goats, threw frisbee with farm dog, watched horses , enjoyed our walks around the farm. The home was a joyful, relaxing place to stay. We had 7 adults, a 1 year old and was very comfortable. We made beautiful family memories. We would love to visit again.

Say “I do” to Mimi’s Guesthouse!
My family and I stayed at Mimi’s Guesthouse right before the Christmas Holidays. In a year when everything was different, Mimi’s was a welcomed respite from the craziness. The house was big with plenty of room for our teenagers to get away from us. However it also had comfortable places for us to gather as well, including the front porch where my sons were delighted to play and visit with the farm dogs. The story of how Mimi’s Guesthouse came to be is also very inspiring. The house, the intricate decorating details, and the warm atmosphere of the farm itself make it more than evident that Mimi herself once shared lots of love and hospitality and has been loved and honored by her family in return. The location of the property is great! Just far enough from everything to find peace, but close enough to Chattanooga and Lookout Mountain. We even made an easy trip into Ft. Payne Alabama from this location to visit Little River Canyon and the Alabama Fan Club and Museum. I would also say that anyone looking to get married should look no further. The venue was so beautiful that I almost wanted to get married to my husband there all over again! Thank you Jill, Margie and family for the use of your beautiful property! We hope to see you again real soon!

Peaceful farm stay
This has got to be one of the amazing properties we have stayed at. Mimi’s guesthouse was the most amazing and peaceful stay. From the quietness and relaxing location to the beauty of antiques and farmhouse decor. There was more than enough room for our family that was there for my sisters birthday. The whole home and visit was comfortable and relaxing in every aspect. I highly recommend this place to anyone. We definitely will be back to stay in the spring or summer when everything is in full bloom.

We did enjoy our stay at the farmhouse, but there are too many rules. You can cook but limit frying? If I intended to stay for more than a couple of days I would not appreciate living out of my suitcase. All closets in the room we used were locked. Overall a nice place and clean.

Our family of 5 absolutely loved staying at this farm house. Everyday we walked around and enjoyed the atmosphere of the farm, played with the farm dogs, and fed the goats. Excellent break for our family of 5
We were looking for a quiet, relaxing getaway and this was perfect for us. We enjoyed the atmosphere of the house and the property, loved spending time with the animals and swimming in the creek, and felt welcome from everyone. Close enough to Chattanooga to run into town if needed for groceries or such, but if you’re looking for a place to just lay low and read and enjoy nature, this is it

Host profile image
My parents purchased the farm in 1976 just as I had graduated from high school. The old farmhouse was the only home on the farm. It was a very old and worn out pre-Civil War farmhouse with too many issues for my parents to assume so they built a 2-story brick home. Eventually I was married and in 1983-1986, my husband and I built our home on the farm and we raised three children.

My eldest daughter, Jill, got married at the farm with the mountain in her backdrop and reception in our barn which was long before the barn craze had begun. After the wedding, we returned the animals to the barn and began the project of helping my daughter and son-in-law renovate the old farmhouse. Years later we began hosting weddings at the farm. We still host many weddings here each year seasonally.

We have always been animal nuts so we have a slew of animals; horses, goats, cows, chickens, dogs, and cats currently. We have always have gardens, flowers, fruit trees, and such. As the years have passed, we morphed into a flower farm specializing in purposeful blooms to not only facilitate our wedding business but with workshops, wreath makings, community events, and such. We are a working farm and just like the old-time farmers of the past, we dabble in this and that here on the farm to make the most of our assets and to share a bit of heaven to many visitors - not only from our weddings but from our lodging guests as well.

This is a family farm where we still live and we are all hands-on in all we do here. My daughter Jill and her family still live on the property but further away. The vintage farmhouse is also rented for lodging options when not being utilized for our weddings. She is often on the tractor moving cows from pasture to pasture or maintaining the flower gardens. My husband, David, is the Jack of all Trades doing anything from maintenance to being our quasi farm "Walmart Greeter." Grandchildren may be riding horses or fishing in the creek. We feel blessed.

Why they chose this property

There great communal space in this home for the occupancy of this home. It is a peaceful place with room for the kids to run and views to soothe the soul. It is a bit of an experience just to come to the farm and to enjoy watching the farm activities. The location is perfect as it is out in the country so it is safe and serene yet so close to Chattanooga (a straight shot north) as well as many great parks like Cloudland Canyon and Chickamauga Battlefield.
