About this property
Country Estate on Working Farm
Modern twist of a farmhouse styled home, this 2-story house has great space and great amenities. Though we mainly use this large house for our family farm wedding venue, we close off the downstairs for this VRBO listing and offer only the top main floor to be used. No one lives downstairs or occupies it during your stay. This allows us to just rent the top main floor for up to two guests for lodging.
Pinterest comes alive in each room mixing family heirlooms and an eclectic vibe in the details. We have turned this mid-80s home into a modern farmhouse vibe with gorgeous mountain and flower farm views. This main floor is very spacious and open and gives you a front row seat for a farm stay. Beyond the house, there is eye-candy overload with a bounty of gardens and scenic mountain views right out your window and even goats to visit at a nearby fenceline. This 75-acre family working farm just 20 minutes south of Chattanooga plus close to Cloudland Canyon, The Creag at McClemore, and Chickamauga National Park.
High Point Farms host many weddings throughout the year but in-between those, we offer this home for lodging options (along with two other on-site houses, if desired). The farm has boutique flower gardens where we seasonally grow cut flowers to facilitate our wedding business as well as some community events too. The farm is a private estate so it is not open to the public and we never host weddings during your stays - fyi, but do occasionally host "U-Pick" floral events at the Venue Barn but these will not impede on your privacy. That said, we are often in the gardens planting and maintaining our gardens, grandchildren may be riding their horses, or even photographers with photos sessions around and about the farm. There is plenty of space and privacy in this house but you do get a sense of being on a real authentic working farm..
The house is a two-story split foyer style home with the main floor being on top. It is not handicapped friendly nor infant proof so no children under three. It has a very spacious common area with the kitchen, dining, and living room area semi-joined. There is a TV in the Master Suite and in the living area plus fiber internet provides great reception and Wifi.
Master Suite (king bed) with connecting bathroom (shower). Powder room off from the hallway. Large living room open to kitchen open to dining room.
There are two other lodging houses on the property for those who want to schedule a family retreat or reunion.
There are many common areas to enjoy on the farm; meandering the gardens when in season, visiting the animals at various pasture fencelines, and making the loop around the hayfield with the views. Please do not go into any of the barns, any of the fenced pasture areas, and avoid the owner's houses (signs posted to help determine). With us being a working farm, we do have Great Pyrenees dogs on the property who are very friendly but their job is to protect their herd of goats, chickens, cows, and horses. If you are careful, you may feed Ritz type crackers to the goats through the fences. Be cautious since there is often an electric fence wire on top or bottom of the livestock page fencing. Avoid feeding the horses. Though they are all very friendly, horses have large teeth and your fingers can easily get confused with food.
We do allow you to bring your dog (no cats) as long as you abide by a few guidelines. $100/pet fee and only one, please. Do not allow your dog to be on the furniture or the beds. Do not leave your dog unattended inside unless the dog is crated. When your dog is outside, keep it leashed or under total verbal control. Bag up any of your dogs poops and drop into the outside garbage can under the deck.
Upgrades available:
1. Bonfire ($50) The bonfire pit is located by the Venue barn. It is encircled with cafe lights and adirondack chairs. Liability concerns require us to build the fire, light it, then let you enjoy the area exclusively.

3. Fresh Farm Bouquet $25/$35/$50) when in season

Frequently asked questions
About the host
Hosted by Margie Gardner
This is family property with two families living on the 75-acre farm. We are a working farm with a small cattle breeding program, lots of goats, horses, and chickens. We are a Boutique Flower Farm recognized through the Georgia Agri-Tourism Department. We also host barn wedding events on many weekends. We are blessed with beautiful property and enjoy sharing a bit of our heaven with the community through certain events as well as offer several houses for lodgers occasionally.
Why they chose this property
This is family property purchased long ago by my parents. The farm has evolved over the years and our blood, sweat, and tears are wrapped up in this piece of land. It is a bit of an experience just to come to the farm and to enjoy watching the farm activities. The location is perfect as it is out in the country so it is safe and serene yet so close to Chattanooga (a straight shot north) as well as many great parks like Cloudland Canyon and Chickamauga Battlefield.
What makes this property unique
It is a safe piece of property (gated) and conveniently located to Chattanooga as well as the many Georgia activities like Cloudland Canyon State Park. If you are looking for a totally secluded place to stay, we are not for you. If you are attracted to the thought of a farm stay, the check us out. Whether it is watching the hay get cut in the front field, watching grandchildren riding their horses, seeing the flower gardens being planted/cut/weeded, or visiting the goats at the fences - the farm is a refuge from a busy life and a taste of life in a by-gone era.
