Thank you so very much for sharing. We are thrilled that the home met your needs and sounds as if it exceeded expectations. We look forward to welcoming you back to our home again in the very near future.
I visited with my two children and we thought it was just perfect. My kids were very excited that we could all sleep upstairs. They enjoyed the hot tub, and I liked that I was able to watch them while making meals. It felt very private and safe. It was a great location. We enjoyed Tweetsie, Linville Falls, Boone, and Valle Crusis.

Thank you so much for the feedback. We are thrilled that you enjoyed the home and we cannot wait for a revisit so we can welcome back to our home.
Everything was clean and well taken care of. We found it a bit small for family of 5 ! The hot tub was lovely after long day of skiing and it was very clean .
Very impressive. This rental exceeded my expectations. Hot tub was fabulous, view was fabulous.4 beds, every amenity was provided including a gaming system and videos. The place was immaculate upon arrival and after we left.

Anniversary weekend
Let me start by saying that we had a great time during our stay at Birdsong. We spent our 17th Anniversary weekend here. The location of the cabin is close to all of the restaurants and there is a ton of stuff to do nearby! The deck and hot tub were perfect!
Not complaints, but there were a couple of things that I wish I would have known/paid attention to or that could be improved:
1- The road and driveway to get to the cabin are steep and not paved! I do not have a lot of experience driving in the mountains and the road made me very nervous!
2- There isn’t room to park and turn around for more than 1 vehicle at the cabin, so keep that in mind!
3- The cabin was clean, but there were a lot of cobwebs that could use some attention.
4- I have always received very clear instructions regarding check out procedures and that wasn’t the case here. I knew to turn the heaters back down and take out the trash, but wasn’t sure what to do with towels and linens. It would be helpful to include that information in the binder in the house.
5- While the cabin is somewhat secluded, some of the windows and doors didn’t have blinds or window covers.

Cabin with non functioning hot tub
The good, the bad and the ugly
Loved the steep driveway it was a blast. No issues getting in or out.
The location was great and convenient to most things. The view from deck was nice. Lots windows to see views off the deck, but some of windows and doors need shades/coverings so you can have privacy from neighbors and others guests when they are outside your room especially at night if the lights are on. Also unit needs more lighting as it is very dark with minimal lighting.
I specifically rented this unit as I wanted a hot tub,. On arrival we got into hot tub and quickly found out it was not working properly. Temperature dropped almost immediately low 90s. I had contacted host and informed them of some other issues including the hot tub. As I had contacted host earlier related missing some towels on arrival. While their towel delivery person was present, I showed them the problem with hot tub. They are agreed something was definitely wrong with it. While host towel people were still present at the unit with me, I contacted host with this information. The host told me a hot tub tech was coming. the next day. This did not occur. Instead they sent a general maintenance person who initially said hot tub was fine until he actually looked at it. Matt the maintenance person was talking with host while looking at hot tub and he informed host it had serious issues which was not relayed to me until late afternoon on day before departure. Needless to say no hot tub technician came even though I was told one would be coming by the host. I was only informed of true problems because I again contacted host and asked when the hot tub technician coming . It was then the host told me in an email that the repair is expected to take 2-3 weeks per host. Host told me the quality control person said hot tub was working before my arrival. I wonder how and why a hot tub would suddenly lose heat down to 91degrees and jet pressure just before I arrived. Seems very odd to me.
I recommend you verify the true working condition of hot tub before you book this unit. If you are interested in using the hot tub unless you want a cold tub! In that case you would be fine along with no jets.
I would have been happy with the rental with the few other issues, except I rented this unit specifically because it stated it had hot tub not a cold tub to Luke warm tub with no jets.
Also TVs are older so no access to my streaming services while there.

Hi David, thanks for taking the time to leave this review. We are glad to hear that barring the hot tub issues you enjoyed your couple of days here in the High Country. It is a small 120V tub and leaving the lid off and adding water etc. will lower the temp and as a 120V tub it does take longer to recover. Again thank you for the review and we hope to see you again soon.
Perfect spot for our family of 4! We loved the adventure of driving up the mountain to the cabin and the view from the deck. Our 4 and 7 yo loved the hot tub and sleeping in the loft in the twin beds. Great decor. We loved this spot! Thank you!
My husband and I really LOVED staying here. It was peaceful, yet close to things to do. The jacuzzi was wonderful and the cabin was very clean and cozy. We definitely plan to visit again!!!
The property is as advertised and we had no problems. The best aspect was the understanding and consideration of the agents and staff; they responded to several problems nicely. The hot tub in particular was quite nice. No complaints.
My family and I had the best time here. It’s in a central location with so much to do around you. The house was very private, and it was so nice to sit in the hot tub and watch the view. We will definitely be staying here again. Our kids absolutely loved it there. The cabin was so cozy and perfect for our family. I can’t wait to go back!
This is the perfect cabin with room for 6 to sleep! The hot tub at night on the deck is magical with the lights. The views are amazing, and the ability to disconnect was welcomed! I will absolutely book again! The only problem was the very steep driveway and only room for 2 cars in the driveway.
Cabin is great and super cute and clean. Rental agency very helpful. The only downfall that needs to be noted is that access to the property is very limited. They did not say that it was very small turnaround and a mile up a very steep grade with gravel and a very narrow path with no area to turn around. We hauled our four-wheel-drive truck and small motorcycle trailer up to the cabin and had to manually turn it around because there’s not enough room to turn the vehicle around without at least a four port turn. Fortunately, the rental company was very helpful and let us park our motorcycle and trailer at their office. We had a great time, the cabin is awesome, just want others to be aware that this is not a place that is access easily or a place for more than one car. We had to use four-wheel-drive with our truck in August to get in and out
We had a great stay at the cabin. Amazing views, great location, great deck. Did have a late check in which we didn’t find out about until an hour before which was an issue with 2 small kids. Also some of the plates / cups were dirty and missing some basics (no paper towels, very little toilet paper). Overall still a 5 star stay, we would stay
If you are a couple or a small family (4 people or less) and want a simple stay in the mountains, this would work well. It was clean, cozy and had a nice view from the deck. The only downsides were that the driveway took some maneuvering to turn around and there weren’t many places to sit comfortably in the living room (we only had 3 people so it was fine). It was nice having the hot tub and we loved the string lights.
Wonderful cabin for weekend girls getaway. Very quaint. Was perfect for us! Heed the warning about 4 wheel drive and bringing chains. I have an front wheel drive vehicle and had to call a local friend to get me out. Due to the location (very high on a mountain) be cautious with young children
