Great location close to town and the entrance to Shenandoah National Park. Beautiful views from the back deck! The hot tub was enjoyable after our long hikes. The area is very quiet and the house has everything you'll need for an enjoyable stay.
My family and some friends stayed for a long weekend and enjoyed every minute of our trip. The home was well stocked and rooms were very well kept. The back deck was the highlight of the home with amazing views and the hot tub. The location was great for a quick drive to Shenandoah national park the winery right next door!
Nice place to relax in the hot tub, with wine in your hand from the local winery next door enjoying the view of the Appalachians. Clean place and property owner next door if you have any problems that arise.
This place was awesome from the owners to the wonderful views, the gorgeous house and winery. We had a great time from start to finish. If you are looking for an excellent place to stay look no further. You definitely get what you pay for.

We were so happy to have Yvonne and her guests as renters! We look forward to their stay hopefully again soon.
The view off the back porch was worth the price of admission. Spectacular views! The house was very clean and perfect for my family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids) looking to hike the near by national park. Having a winery and tasting room in the backyard was great coming back from long hiking days.
Our third stay at this great property and it was fabulous as usual! It was adorably decorated for Christmas, which was a real treat. We arrived the night of an ice storm and although several trees were down, Jeff quickly remedied the situation and cleared the trees. This VRBO is always top notch!

Thank you so much for the stay! That ice storm was something! I’m glad we could get the driveway cleared quickly. And thank you for your understanding.
Very accommodating host. Property was very clean and neat with no excess clutter. We did not cook this trip, but if you wanted to cook the property was well stocked with cookware, utensils, dishwater and glassware. Property was easy to get to, and the winery was beautiful, welcoming, and delicious!!
This home is perfect! Clean, beautifully decorated, fresh, new and every thing we could possibly need or want was included. Perfectly stocked kitchen, great sheets, towels and comfortable beds. Lovely extra touches like blackout shades in all bedrooms, central air/heat and a new jacuzzi on a beautiful deck overlooking the vineyard. Truly the most relaxing and wonderful stay. Highly recommend! Cannot wait to come back!

Kristen, thank you so much for the kind review! We are glad that you and your family enjoyed your stay!
We had a great stay! The house worked great for our family of four + three guests for a week’s stay. Beautiful porch overlooking the winery! Plenty of space for our suburban kids to run and play in the yard! Hot tub to watch the sunset turn into starry sky! And only a 10 minute drive to groceries, drive-thru Starbucks, a quaint downtown (with bakeries and breweries) and the north entrance to Shenandoah NP. The hosts addressed any minor issues with the house promptly and professionally.
We had a wonderful stay here over Memorial Day weekend. Very clean, quiet, amazing views of vineyard and foothills and great hot tub on a deck perfect for hanging out and relaxing. Highly recommend and would stay here again.
This was our second time staying at Idle Hour and it was just as fabulous as our first. Clean, cozy, and the most beautiful setting makes for such a special getaway. You will not be disappointed, the photos do not do justice to this special place. The quality of service is top notch, Travis and Jeff are incredibly attentive and accommodating, and Pat who lives next door is a dear (she even brought over homegrown vegetables for us one day!). Our absolute favorite VRBO we've ever stayed in, and we will certainly be back.
This is one of the best places we've ever stayed on a vacation. It was absolutely fabulous! A home away from home. The views are amazing, the deck and hot tub fabulous, the home was neat, clean, charming and cozy. One small complaint was that the shower head in the master bath had too much pressure, making it unpleasant and difficult to get clean. However, the stocked kitchen was well appreciated and the home was very well appointed--great laundry room and beds very comfortable. The owner and Pat from next door (what a doll) were attentive and helpful. We will DEFINITELY be back! Already looking to book a future trip to Idle Hour. What a gem in Front Royal!
