Spin your way into our newest hip Palm Springs vacation rental – PS Moondog. This modernized midcentury classic was originally owned by renowned DJ Alan Freed, who coined the term ‘rock and roll’ for his 1950’s radio show “The Moondog Rock and Roll Hour.” Set against a beautiful view of the San Jacinto mountain, this home is a classic Palmer and Krisel designed, Alexander build on an expansive lot at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac. Cool and colorful interiors, classic midcentury modern style and a large back yard with lots of amenities, it’s the perfect place to cool your jets and relax into the Palm Springs groove.
The home opens with all of the shared living space to the right and a hallway to the left that leads to all of the sleeping quarters. An open concept floor plan, the well-stocked kitchen offers a six-burner stove with side oven/warming station and granite island with counter seating and casual indoor dining for up to 6. The living room enjoys the classic post and beam ceiling, gas fireplace, and sliding glass doors from both the living room and kitchen/dining area. The living room has a large flat screen TV and satellite cable and plenty of seating and lounging.
Down the hall to the left, you have two bright, inviting guest rooms both with queen beds that share the remodeled guest hall bathroom with a walk-in, tiled shower. In the hallway, there is a stackable washer and dryer you may use to refresh your pool towels (provided) or that Tiny Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini! The master suite sits at the back of the home and offers a King size bed, built-in cabinets, a large flat screen TV with satellite cable, remodeled ensuite bathroom with walk-in tiled shower and glass slider access to the rear yard.
Outside has a Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On with a large bocce ball court, above ground spa with hydromassage precision jets, generous sparkling pool, outdoor shower, and plenty of room for your Hound Dog to roam. Exiting off the kitchen is your propane gas BBQ for easy access and a comfortable new seating area to lunge or catch up on life with your friends and family as well as a separate dining table for those sunset dinners and meals under the stars.
Located in historic Racquet Club Estates, the birthplace of the Alexander mid-century aesthetic, you're just minutes from downtown, the airport and restaurants. The neighborhood is rich with architecture and history. It should be noted the city has sound ordinances that are strictly enforced: there is no music outside, at all, at any time of day. People noise at a reasonable level is certainly allowed during the day. You should enjoy the pool and your friends and family. However, audible people noise must cease by 10 PM. The owner(s) like to stress this home is ideal for a dream vacation and relaxation but is by no means a “party-central” home. Each guest is expected to be as good a neighbor as the owner(s) themselves. Special events like weddings are NOT allowed.
Guest count: limited to 6 overnight guests (plus an optional two of those two are under the age of 12).
Parking: limited to 3 cars present at any time.
