This property was perfect for our family of 3. It was in the best location of Beaver Creek, close to slopes, restaurants, shops. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Fun place to stay.
Things to consider - expensive mandatory valet parking, great village location, poorly equipped kitchenette and significant walk to ski lifts. All-in-all, we enjoyed our stay.

We have stayed at the property before it is our favorite proximity to the slopes, amenities, rentals, storage of said, rentals, workout facility and Overall ambience is excellent.
Parking vehicle is much too expensive and unreasonable, need an option for free parking. Kitchen area not well stocked, barebones of items & utensils; location is really great, tv setup needs to be updated.
Kitchen limited to microwave, kuerig, and toaster. More of hotel suite than condo. Heat functions fine. Could use better humidifier as air is VERY dry. Desk staff and valet helpful. Parking fee should be disclosed in listing $60 a day.

Local Embassy suites room is far nicer
This in no way, could be considered a condo of any sort. It’s a glorified hotel room that needs a serious remodel. The view was mediocre at best, the sitting room was blistering hot, and the bedroom was freezing cold. Don’t need to say porch more than that.

Well Kenneth I’m sorry you did not enjoy your stay and unfortunately as there is not an Embassy Suites in Beaver I really can’t compare. As for unit being a hotel over a “condo” yes you are absolutely correct that it is very much a hotel suite just as advertised. I think when you were researching the options at your desired dates you found that my unit was at least 50% less than any other option in Beaver Creek which is why you booked it. I’m definitely not as fancy as the Ritz Carlton ($3500/night) but at $500/night I offer a very clean and comfortable accommodations and the best deal in town. As for the temperature I do apologize for any inconvenience but as you never let me know there was an issue I was not able to fix it for you during your stay. To all future guests, please let me know if you have any trouble as I have onsite maintenance standing by 24h a day.

Ski trip
This was a very nice hotel room but the listing said it was a ski in ski out. This is not true, you need to walk about 300 yards to the lift. The listing did not say anything about paying 60$ per day for parking.
They need to be upfront about that

Hi Philip, thank you for taking the time to leave me a review. This building is a registered ski in / ski out building because it has the ski bridge 20 feet from the front entrance. I would also recommend the 300 feet (not yards) walk to the strawberry park lift as a quicker alternative to the mountain for those that don't mind a little exercise. Parking has always been listed as valet only with winter rates of $60 and summer rates of $30. Thanks again for choosing my place and taking the time to review it.

Great location, awful bed.
Loved the property location and most features. Big red stain on carpet near bathroom and the bed was severely sunk in in on side closes to balcony. Both my girlfriend and I took turns sleeping on the bad side and woke up with aches and didn’t sleep very well. Also, there was no talk of the $30 daily parking fee on the reservation.I found out about upon arrival which is fine but would have liked that disclosed.

Hi Kyle, thank you for you review and notifying me of these problems with this unit. I had the carpets professionally cleaned and the mattress replaced on October 2023.
Very bad experience in that you cannot control temperature in the unit adequately. Completely inappropriate for a higher end rental. Had to open sliding door of bedroom to allow 20° air from the outside in in order to make the living room cooler and even then, the living room was still too hot to sleep.
Could have better temperature control in a motel 6.
Also, you must upgrade the sofa bed.
Would strongly recommend the purchase of a comfortable sofa bed or convert to a sofa/ Murphy bed. They are available.
Owners are completely taking advantage of unsuspecting renters by not investing and repairing hv/ac or ability to control temperature and not upgrading sofa bed. Other reviews speak to this as well.
Would never recommend and would never stay here again.
It is a shame because it is such a fantastic location and great community.
The down comforter and pillows in the bedroom are excellent and absolutely necessary when you must keep the door to the outside open.

Steven I only wish you had let me know that the heat was not working properly during your stay. I have 24h maintenance at this unit and would have been very happy to have had it fixed. This issue was a simply fix with an adjustment needed to the baffle inside. You mention others having this issue but only one other guest had this problem and he checked out the day you arrived and also did not let me know during his stay. For all future guests please not I’m always available to address your needs and can have virtually any problem fixed within minutes as I directly employee the head of maintenance for this building.

Not for us
We have stayed at the BC Lodge many times before and I have to say this was the most disappointing stay of all as far as the lodge goes. To no fault of Oliver's, the lodge does treat you differently being a VRBO rental vs a hotel guest. For example, they would not lend me a can opener, they "could not" communicate with me about the room, and they brought all hotel guests luggage up to their rooms before they would help with ours. In fact, we waited over 1.5 hours for our luggage and finally went down and got it ourselves, with a minor apology from the front desk. Furthermore, there were no disinfecting supplies in the gym to wipe down equipment, which is surprising in this time of Covid. They did not enforce gym users to wear their masks and it all felt really risky. As far as the room goes, it was nicely stocked with very basic supplies for 4 (plates, cups, flatware), a mini Keurig coffee maker with 6 pods, mini-fridge/ freezer, and an older microwave but it worked. Shampoo and body wash provided but no lotion (a necessity for the dry climate). The walls are extremely thin so we could clearly hear all conversations of people walking by in the hall and the specifics of the conference call from the guest next door, along with her crying baby at late at night and early (3:30am, 6:30am). The temperature is weird because the main room with the sleeper sofa is really hot (with no windows for cooling) and the room with the King bed is significantly cooler. One thermostat for both rooms so it was hard to accommodate both rooms for temperature and my son on the sleeper sofa was uncomfortably hot all night. The sleeper sofa may be good for very little kids, but our 16 year old son was miserable on it. Thin mattress that you could feel the support bar. He ended up trying to sleep with his head at the foot of the bed and that seemed a bit more comfortable. The sofa sheets were both stained and torn in places & the mini-blinds leaked a ton of light from the hall. Communication with Oliver was ok, there were two emails I sent the day of check-in that he never responded to. We were trying to check in a bit early and the hotel could not work with us on that- all communication had to go through Oliver so that was a bit frustrating. Overall, we will not likely stay at the lodge again in any room as it doesn't accommodate our needs and the noise and heat were too much of an issue. I will say the service and food at the onsite restaurant were both very good.

Hi Jennifer, thank you very much for taking the time to let me know your thoughts on my condo. Your feedback is very helpful, particularly when it comes to the service of the hotel staff. There has been a problem with the new staff for about the last month and I am working hard with the manager of the hotel to get these discrepancies cleared up. There is never a time any of my guests should feel they are being treated differently because they come from VRBO because all of the guests are actually the same. This building is entirely owned by the owners of the condos and run by an HOA, the "hotel" is just a renter with a licensing deal and pays the same dues as we all do. Unfortunately there have been some employees of the hotel that don't understand how this all works which is why your feedback is so helpful. Now for my own shortcoming, I do really apologize if I missed a communication from you about check-in, I try my best to very easy to reach but occasionally messages can be missed. I also really appreciate the feedback on the interior space especially the pullout, which I must admit I have never slept on (although my two little girls have), I plan to replace this asap. Again I am sorry you do not sound like you had a wonderful time and I will reach out to you privately about giving us a second chance here in the future.
Thank you Steven for taking the time to leave me a review. I do contest that a 25 foot walk to the ski bridge is more than adequate to be called ski in ski out. This hotel is also registered with the national association of hotels and resorts as a verified ski in ski out establishment.
