We had a lovely stay! It was super easy to walk to coffee in the morning and enjoy it on our front lawn area. Very close to all the sites we wanted to drive and see!
This place is a gem. Love this cute home. Way better than renting a hotel stay. Close to everything. Host is very active to any needs. Definitely recommend.
We had a wonderful time during our stay in Normal Heights. We stayed for five nights. The location is great! The property was clean and is within walking distance to restaurants and pubs. The beds are really comfortable. Having a designated parking space is such a huge plus!! Street parking would have been challenging so we were thrilled to have a spot. Communication with David was easy. We will definitely visit again!
David was very responsive and accommodating before our trip! The house was a lovely oasis close to many things. We had a power outage in the two bedrooms one morning. David responded and was there within literal minutes, provided us with extension cords for overnight, and was able to get it fixed by the next morning.
We had a great stay at this San Diego home. The neighborhood felt very safe and quiet, which we really appreciated. Having a private parking spot was extremely convenient and made our trips around the city much easier. The house was clean and well-stocked with the amenities you’d expect, like a coffee dispenser and a full fridge. Overall, a very comfortable and stress-free experience
this location was perfect. Easy to find with the added plus of parking. So close to a lot of wonderful things in a great neighborhood, but far enough way that it felt very quiet and hidden. The place itself was absolutely gorgeous. Every amenity you could ask for, in a very soothing environment
We had the best stay! The home was perfect for what we needed and very clean! It is located so close to everything you could want to do! David was very responsive and we couldn’t have asked for better! We can’t wait to visit again!
Location was great, place was clean and safe neighborhood. The only thing I didn’t like was that at the end the host wanted us to do house chores, like removing garbage, it felt like we had to pickup after ourselves . The place was expensive and it should include cleaning . It kind of annoying because we are here to vacation not to clean an apartment.
The host was very helpful and we loved the private outdoor space. The artwork is beautiful and adds a serene feel to the space. The beds & trundle bed were comfortable. The sofa was deemed uncomfortable, both for sitting or sleeping. Living room/dining room has harsh lighting, but great if you like it bright. All windows but the kitchen (looks out into the yard space) are covered with privacy film; light but no visual. We were surprised that our only entrance was in an alley, but it worked well. Parking was easy.

About the host
Hosted by David Warder
Welcome to the neighborhood. My wife and our two girls have loved living in Normal Heights for the past 11 years. We love the independent restaurants and shops as well as the walkability. Our family loves to travel and we have stayed in bnb’s all over the world. We love good food, tasty drinks, culture, art and outdoor activities.
We also own Zen Sanctuary, a holistic spa in the neighboring Kensington. Walking distance from the house. We offer massage, acupuncture and skin care. We have 7 treatment rooms and are open from 9-9 seven days a week.
We tend to give our guests their privacy but we are happy to share visitor information or help in any way we can, just ask.
We hope you will enjoy staying in our little home and will treat it with respect. Happy travels.
David and Leah
