This property is excellent and we had an amazing stay. The location, view, and amenities are all great. Really a unique place as it is right on the water and basically without neighbors, which made relaxing easy (not a walkable location, though, if that matters to you). Highly recommend for a place to unwind! 5 stars :)
Wonderful home to relax and unwind in. The view is stunning. The house is so clean and homey. Looking forward to staying again. So many personal touches.
I can’t say enough about this home 😊
Sweet spot, with a cozy feel. Hot tub nestled on the deck with a sweeping water view. Cocktails and cribbage while watching seals perfect. Kitchen had everything needed. Comfy beds. A great get away.
We stayed for a week while exploring the area- a great ‘home base’. The space was as advertised and past vacationers accurately identified the few items to be aware of- the driveway and traffic noise. We really appreciated the all the amenities.
Spectacular views from the deck of the sunrises/sunsets. We loved being on the water with the tandem kayak. Rachel and Jim were very responsive and helpful. We’d come back again for sure.
So pleasant. We hung out for three days in solitude and decompressed. Beds, furniture very comfortable. The hot tub was fabulous. Bottle of wine and some snacks very appreciated. Mornings spent sipping our lattes and watching the water/boats/seagulls/seals. Lots of restaurants in nearby Bremerton or Port Orchard. Easy to get to Safeway also. Easy to communicate with the hosts.
The host had the fans and everything going for us, it was a warmer day when we checked in. The view is indescribable and amazing to be that close to the water rain or shine. Wonderful amenities and clean! Close to the marina and downtown and beds and furniture were comfortable. We loved our stay!
We loved our stay in this delightful 1940s home that sits right on the water near Port Orchard. Most of our time was spent sitting in the comfy rockers on the back porch, watching the tide come in or out.Our grandson, who is a fleet lieutenant in the Navy, joined us for a couple of nights. He loved the Navy-themed decor in the home, as well as the spectacular view.We managed to choose one of the hottest days of the year to visit and were able to stay cool enough by using a box fan in the window of our bedroom to bring in the cool breeze coming off the water. All in all, a wonderful time. We would be back in a minute if we had a reason to travel to Seattle again.
Our second time here. I just love that the house i positioned parially on the water! This visit with higher tides you can hear the water more underneath the house. Very clean as before, a nice stock of kitchen stuff. Used the hot tub in this cooler weather. Watched a seal munch away on a fish for quite some time. Just over all chill place to go.
My husband and I spent 6 enjoyable days at this waterfront property. This older house has been beautifully updated, and is very comfortable. There are a few “quirks” and accommodations for guests to deal with like not overloading the electrical system and navigating a very abruptly steep driveway from the busy road above the house. The hot tub is marvelous- the largest and highest quality I have ever seen in a VRBO.
This was our first time staying here, and it was a good experience. House is very well kept, clean, no strong cleaning product smells in case you are sensitive to that. Could not get any closer to the water as you are literally on the water! Saw eagles, seals, and lots of seagulls feasting on clams, that is very entertaining. Our week there was very hot weather which we enjoyed out on the deck. I will say though that it was a bit rough at night for us as there is no AC in the house. Enjoyed the hot tub in the cooler times of the morning and night. Also really enjoyed the National Anthem being played out over the water by the Navy. Overall a very nice time.
We had a great stay at the property. The interior of the house is beautiful. The location is nice but the driveway is a nightmare. The trees & bushes along the road need to be cut back so that you can see traffic coming down the road. The angle of the driveway makes it quite difficult to get in & out of. The yard areas of the property do not look anything like the photos in the listing. There is no green grass, just dead grass & weeds. However, the view across the water to Bremerton is gorgeous. We enjoyed watching all of the wildlife everyday.
On our last day we got a message from the host letting us know that check out was at 12pm but that they would be arriving at 10am to do some yard work. I thought that it was strange that they didn’t actually ask us what time we were planning on checking out but just said they’d be there at 10am. We decided to leave earlier than we had planned because we didn’t want to have the hosts there when we were still in the house. It seemed a little strange that they couldn’t wait 2 hours to do whatever yard work they had planned.
Overall our stay was great. We didn’t mind the traffic noise as it was minimal at night. We enjoyed exploring the areas around Port Orchard.
After reading the number of 5 star reviews of the property, I had to see what the high ratings were all about. We were not disappointed in the least. Great place to stay and treat as a home base while discovering the islands off of Seattle!
We had a lovely stay. We had a great time at this beautiful property, which was accurate to its online listing. I will definitely recommend it to my friends and family!
We had a wonderful time at this property and the owners made it extra special for our anniversary. The waterfront location was spectacular! Very private, but close to everything in Port Orchard. Highly recommend for any occasion! We will be returning!
Anchor Down Inn is by far one of my favorite VRBO’s I’ve ever stayed in! It sits right on the water and as the tide comes it, it comes right under the house (on stilts). Amazing sea life - seals, river otters, crabs, cranes, eagles just to name a few. The views are astounding and the place is very comfortable and with cute decor! The hot tub is a wonderful addition day or night. It is nicely situated - there are no homes on either side but Port Orchard is only a 3 minute drive down the road. We had a very memorable stay and will be enjoying this place again when we’re in Washington. The owners are fabulous and very attentive to making your stay the best it can be! Highly recommend!
Spent a few days of spring break with the family here. The view was amazing! Wonderful home, super clean and the best deck I’ve ever seen. The front drive is pretty steep so be prepared and the front door sticks a bit. Other than that such an amazing home! Played around on the sand during low tide with the kids. Great food not too far away, had a blast touring the USS Turner Joy in Bremerton! Can’t wait to come back!
Very cute, clean house. You are literally right on the water. The water goes under the house in one area. Host supplies are plentiful. Road noise was the only downfall. I would rent again!!!
We are a married couple, living 20 minutes away. We love the outdoors and getting to know people. Our goal is to help people make beautiful memories.
