Delightful, barn cottage in peaceful rural village. Walks, pubs, scenery. Relax!
DAIRY YARD COTTAGE forms part of a listed stone barn, dating back to the eighteenth century, which has been sympathetically renovated, retaining many of the period features and character of the original farm building, such as flagstone floor, beamed ceilings and exposed timbers. Carefully restored and decorated in a classic, country style with neutral colours, sea grass floor coverings etc., it provides a comfortable base, in a peaceful rural setting, from which to discover the Cotswolds. It is an ideal retreat for a couple or small family and many of our visitors have become regular guests here. Spread over two floors, the entrance hall, with cloakroom/ WC, leads through to a light, airy, reception room with plenty of space for both relaxing and dining. The door from the main room leads to a modest size, well equipped, fitted kitchen. An easy rise staircase opens onto a spacious landing, two pretty bedrooms and a bathroom. The main bedroom has a king size bed with bedside tables, wardrobe, dressing table, etc and there is sufficient space to erect a travel cot for guests with a baby. The second bedroom is smaller, has twin beds and is ideal for an additional adult guest or children. The bathroom, with basin and WC, has a fitted shower over the bath. There is plenty of off street parking directly outside the cottage. Dairy Yard Cottage is set within the grounds of Home Farm, a classic Cotswold stone farmhouse, where we have lived for almost three decades. Our four children had a wonderful 'free range' childhood growing up here, surrounded by dogs, cats, chickens and with sheep and horses grazing in the fields beyond - we are now welcoming our grandchildren here! Our guests also appear to get enormous pleasure enjoying the space and rural atmosphere of the area and a chance to unwind in the gently, rolling Cotswold hills.

Lovely, peaceful property with everything you need! Sally-Anne is very welcoming and provides a notebook of helpful information. Kineton is small but has a great pub and is conveniently located for shopping and site-seeing at larger villages such as Broadway and Stow. The cat and dogs are very friendly and it’s fun to watch the chickens and sheep. There is a lovely shaded walk to a nice creek with a ford. In a word—idyllic.
We had a wonderful time at the Dairy Cottage this spring. The cottage and grounds are well kept and nearby beautiful walks and a town with cafe and shop for everything we needed. The hosts were welcoming and friendly I would recommend to anyone looking t@ get off the beaten path. We had a lovely stay. We would love to return.
Great property with perfect ambiance and charm in the Cotswolds. Hosts were fantastic and we thoroughly enjoyed feeling like we were in our own slice of the best the Cotswolds has to offer. Great restaurant, pubs, breakfast spots within walking or very short drive. Excellent hiking trails right out your door and simply a perfect place to relax and unwind. Highly recommend as both a place to stay and relax and as a base to explore the area. Owners provide a very helpful guide with suggestions and information about the area and very friendly dogs who love your attention.

I’m really glad you enjoyed your stay so much and found the cottage so comfortable and convenient to explore the surrounding area
Directions were easy to follow and thorough, we found the cottage without issue and were able to let ourselves in. Inside, everything was spotless and there were some toys and resources for our kids (cot, high chair). Also, there was a binder full of local places to visits, paths to walk, maps, restaurants, etc. It was VERY useful!Sally-Anne was lovely once we met her and we had a great time chatting with her.
