We had a great stay! The house has everything you need, plenty of room for four people to spread out. Definitely plan to come back next time we are in Mars Hill!
Feels like Granny’s house but with all the comforts of modern day living
We loved this house - so many rooms for sleeping, great beds and bedding, a working stereo console with great vinyl, kitchen has all you need and the property is beautiful; great outdoor spot at night to enjoy the fresh air- Lindsey really cares for her guests - we loved it!
This home was well maintained, clean, and perfect for our mountain weekend. We came up intending for the Biltmore but still wanted to feel in the mountains. This lovely home has beautiful views and was nestled on a hill on a quiet street. Everything was clean, the host was incredibly helpful and easy to communicate with. Would definitely recommend staying here. The home is beautiful and comfortable; all of us enjoyed our stay.
Owner super easy to work with, not fancy but fun and funky and comfortable. Definitely recommended.

About the host
Hosted by Lindsey
I like most folky things, especially music, dance and craft. I work as a laborer on several properties in the area while I am renovating the smaller house on the property. I will usually be in and out of that house working on it and hope to live there in the next month or two.
Why they chose this property
I dreamt of living in Madison County for 20 years, since I first moved to Asheville. It was my get-away place. I fell in love with this house as soon as I saw it 4 years ago because it reminded me of the house I grew up in and felt like home. I bought it from a neighborhood man who helped build it with his father when he was 16. His wife still lives close by. This house has a history of being a family gathering place and a creative space. The room upstairs was used by his mother for weaving and quilting. The father and son were both woodworkers and builders.
What makes this property unique
Close enough to downtown Mars Hill to bike or walk, but still rural. Walking distance to excellent hiking with stunning views. The house has great natural light with pretty views and always feels nice to be in. The stars and moon are very visible outside on clear nights. The fireflies are amazing in the summertime, when they cover the mountains with a splendid light show each night. The sound of the stream across the street and tons of birdsongs help make the magical vibe of the neighborhood and property.
