Property was near perfect for our weekend getaway. Fireplace was great and bonus to have a stocked supply of wood on the porch and inside.Location is very convenient. Would definitely stay here again.

July 4 getaway
Nice location Great area Rental wasn’t cleaned on time Check in was delayed Unit needed updated
Property was great size and location for our needs. In house amenities were all we could ask for. Home finishings could use a little update but on par with other properties we have rented.
This was a nice, typical Deerfield townhouse. The area was quiet even though there were a lot of cars in the parking lot.
Canaan Realty has always been good to work with. We have rented from them several times with no complaints or problems. Our house was even ready a little early this time, which was great.

Really dirty pots and pans. For what i paid shouldnt have had to strip beds and put a load in the washer let alone be threatened to be charged extra fees for not doing so. I was disgusted with that threat.
This property needs a good cleaning and updating. Although they have updated few items. Not sure if its the water or just age of dishes but everything has a hazy film on it. Bed spread was stained or needed washed. Not sure what was splattered on the master bedroom wall - noticed while turning on lamp.

Deerfield 41
No kitchen towels, ripped screens in most of windows, definitely doors. Door falling off the cabinet under the sink. A couple lamps had burned out bulbs, no light bulb for the outside front door, difficult to unlock door in the dark. Toaster only toasts one side of the bread and the coffee pot literally took over an hour to brew a pot of coffee. They did have nice pots and pans. Shower heads leaked. Faucet in the kitchen leaks all over the counter. Ceiling fan in the master bedroom sounds like it’s ripping the ceiling down. This place definitely needs some TLC. We stay in Deerfield every summer, this is definitely the worst one I’ve stayed in.
Property is in desperate need of an upgrade! Gate about to fall off of deck rail. Some lights and fans did not work. Debris all over deck. Coffee maker and carafe were different makes-so didn’t work. Manager sent over another one—carafe was filthy and there was moldy coffee left in maker. Property was Not clean.
Great location, comfortable bed, big screen TV with access to many channels, great fireplace with wood provided. This was a pet friendly unit and there were no pet odors. Enjoyed the gas grill and the charcoal grill. Took advantage of having a washer and dryer. Would stay here again!
Deerfield Village is very nice and has lots to do.
The only problems were the one piece of furniture and kitchen pots and pans. The leather chair in the living room is coming apart and has a sharp metal rib sticking out of the back. There were few pots and pans and no matching lids. The knives and peeler were inadequate. Other than that it was a great property.
The place was very cute and cozy, perfect for what we needed. It was located in a good location. We had a great trip, thanks!

Property needs a lot of work.
Smoke detector was disconnected. Tables in living room were dirty. Lampshades in living room are disintegrating. Pots and Pans were dirty. Rug and blankets in living room area need. replacement. Never again!!
Great location to stay to explore Canaan area. Property is well maintained for it's age and clean. Linens and towels were nice quality. Kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, dishes, spices. Washer, dryer in unit is nice. Did not use wood fireplace cause smoked the room. Chimney might need cleaning but didn't bother us not having.
Had a great time. The provided firewood is a huge plus after spending the day enjoying the slopes. The main living area is cozy for fires and family movie watching. Great location! 15 min to Blackwater and to Canaan Valley resort and walking distance to a BBQ place. House could use a little TLC but it has everything you need. Management was super responsive when we contacted them for a new battery for a downed smoke alarm. Would definitely visit again.
The property was pretty well maintained and located in a very pretty area. The property manager was very responsive.
Couple of things I would like to mention - the bath towels are old and definitely need to be updated. Also, the fan in the master bedroom doesn't work well and needs to be fixed.
There is a screen missing in the screen door to the deck which allows bugs to come in.
Overall, the property was very clean, it had fairly good Wifi once we figured out how to connect to it, and the community is very pretty.
We picked this home because each kiddo would get a bed, which is hard to find for a family of five in our price range. Let me give you the good and the bad.
Good- spacious and gorgeous grounds. The area is beautiful and the pool is amazing. Three bathrooms is a great for a big family and we could bring our dog. We had room to spread out. And the wash dryer was a huge plus after a day of hiking and swimming! The grounds were gorgeous, safe to walk even in the street and a cute little playground. The kids loved the pool.
Bad- The home def needs updating. The porch had old worn wooden patio furniture. One chair was broken. The porch could have been amazing but there really wasn’t a place to sit besides an old table. There is a grill, a actually two, but no real grill tools so bring your own. We brought burgers and dogs and made them inside instead. The back door was missing a screen so our dog could jump out. The bathrooms were not so good, they need some major updates, even the kids said it took forever to wash our their shampoo. Needs some paint and caulk for sure. The tvs are old and remotes needed batteries, we ran to the store down the street but they didn’t have any. No big deal we weren’t here to watch tv it was just an inconvenience at night as we were winding down before putting the kids to bed.
Overall it was fine, better than keeping five people in a hotel room for sure. I would look for another unit like the other family suggested as well.
