Excellent location with wonderful views of the castle. Cottage was clean and comfortable. Host very responsive to messages and provided lots of information about the cottage and local area. We were even given a voucher to use for a free visit to the castle - very mush appreciated. Lovely part of the Yorkshire dales and not far from forbidden corner and the Wensleydale creamery.
What a lovely place to spend a mini break. Great location. The house didn't disappoint at all. Me, my husband our two teenagers and our dog had a lovely comfortable stay. The host was fantastic with communication. I've already recommended this place to friends and family.
Really enjoyed our stay, lots of walking (great supply of maps & books) and village a great base for what we had planned. Cottage has all amenities and comfortable.
Anne was an excellent host all questions answered. Easy key collection. Kitchen equipped very well, can't think of anything missing. Spotless rooms, bathroom etc. Would definitely stay again
We've stayed here around Easter-time for the last five years and we'll hopefully keep coming back! The house is lovely, clean and comfortable - a real home from home.
I would like to thank our host. We had an amazing time.

Beautiful location with everything you could need for a comfortable stay in a stunning part of the country Especially enjoyed a visit to the Castle and Aysgarth Falla
The cottage is so lovely and cosy. It had everything we needed. A great base for walks and only a 10 to 15 minutes walk to the local village pub, which we would recommend. Another excellent choice for food was The Wheatsheaf Inn at Carperby. Any questions we had were answered by our host. She was very welcoming. We would definitely stay again.
We had a very nice week at Castle View (a wonderfully literal name for the cottage) - roomy property, well equipped, nice quiet location, lovely walks.
We loved: The village itself was a delight to come back to & the view of the Castle was amazing!! The location was perfect for visiting The Dales. The kitchen was well equipped !We did not like: Crossing over wet grass each time we walked from the car to the cottage. I am in my mid 70's & arthritic. I found it difficult walking on sloping/uneven wet grass. Stepping stones would have helped !I couldnt use the sofa as it is very worn and saggy & too low to get off if you have mobility issues. The other chair was the wing chair, which was a better height. But the seat of the winged chair is 'very hard' which worsened my hip pain every evening. I was uncomfortable during the whole holiday. The shower room is very badly lit and gloomy, not a pleasant room. I found issues like dental hygeine issues, such as flossing my teeth, difficult to see in the poor evening light. But, the issue that caused us great stress and spoiled our stay was this: Every night we got disturbed by a sinister & nasty spirit! We were awoken with a stamping sound in the doorway of the twin room and a figure walking between our two beds. Then the bedroom door was forceably closed when we had 'left it ajar', and were both in bed !! Following this I experienced a very icy spot in the toilet!! We have never experienced a situation like this before in a holiday cottage and would never return because of it!! Whenever we were away from the cottage we were at peace. We couldn't wait to leave
Absolutely beautiful cosy cottage, lovely quiet location. Clean with all items needed for our stay. Kitchen was well equipped (for once we didn't need to bring a cafetiere) Anne was an excellent host, great communication and instructions.Perfect
A return visit to Castle View. Clean, spacious property that is a great base for a visit to the Dales. Anne the owner is a great host, excellent communication. Castle Bolton is a wonderful location and would definitely recommend a visit.
We had a lovely, comfortable stay in Castle View cottage. It was perfectly located, and the short walk to Bolton Castle and view from the front windows were fantastic. Even on rainy days we found lots to do and it was great just staying in and watching the weather with a cup of tea. Highly recommended!
We had booked Castle View as our accommodation for our wedding at Bolton Castle. Our bridal party stayed with us and at the cottage next door and it was perfect.
We could not have asked for more.
Lovely cosy cottage in superb location looking towards Bolton castle across grassy areas. Superbly equipped. Great location for exploring Dales. Close to Leyburn for supplies. Lovely views of Penhill. Wonderful Castle only 5 mins walk from cottage with nice cafe. Mary Queen of Scot's bedroom. Lovely grounds with maze. Entry fee applies. You can see the wild boars being fed at 4pm each day by the car park.

a beautiful little cottage in a lovely area. Quiet and peaceful, neighbours lovely, loved listening to the geese, curlews, pheasants and the owls at night.
The only disappointing item was the bed was so hard we have both walked away with a bad back. Some people don't mind a hard bed so this is not a complaint.
We certainly would go back but would take a topper with us :)
A lovely cottage in picturesque surroundings, it was an ideal stay for our son’s wedding at Bolton Castle. Anne the host, is approachable and friendly. I can highly recommend Castle View to anyone wanting to stay in the area.
The property was spotless inside, very clean. As for the village of Castle Bolton, a proper chocolate box photo of Old England, a fantastic place to stay, highly recommended.
Voor de tweede keer in dit huisje verbleven en wederom heel erg tevreden. Prachtige omgeving en wandelroutes vanaf de deur. Hondvriendelijk en fijn contact met de behulpzame eigenaar.
Castle View is a beautiful cottage, a real home from home with all the essentials to make your stay comfortable and relaxing. Great location with a number of lovely walks straight from the door. Beautiful location and friendly people. Thank you Anne x
