Long weekend at Biallid House
A beautiful spacious house to accommodate big groups. Very well equipped kitchen with everything one will need. The house keeper was very informative and helpful.
However a few beds are not as comfortable as they could be and the bathrooms could do with updating.

Biallid House is a splendid place to stay. Plenty of rooms, kitchen facilities are great and the location is superb. Just a short walk to Newtonmore and a short drive to the heart of the Cairngorm National Park.
Beautiful surroundings. So much room for us all with plenty of bathrooms. Particularly liked the large family room.

A perfect stay
We had the most wonderful time at Biallid House - it was the perfect place to bring the family together, and the perfect location for exploring our family history in the Cairngorms. We had a fantastic time and are already planning to come back! Thanks for everything

Brilliant place to stay
15 friends spent a week at Biallid House in May. It proved to be one of the most popular venues we have ever stayed in on our annual trips to Scotland. The house is extremely spacious with good facilities and in many ways, quite luxurious. It's great to be able to cook and eat together with so many people and to relax together after dinner in comfortable surroundings.
The location is excellent for outdoor activities and just to enjoy the local area and its wildlife.
The booking and supporting admin were very helpful.

Biallid House
Comfortable house that suited our needs, good location. Ideal for large gatherings.
Unfortunately showers out of order, but plenty hot water. Good supply of wood for fire. Well equipped for cooking. Adequate fridge/freezer space. Would return for another stay.

A charming place to stay, step back in time.
The property is a charming place with plenty of room. The house keeper is a lovely lady and made sure we had the best stay.
The only feedback I would give is the place is in despirate need of redecoration and some TLC. I would add more showers to each bathroom.
Please don't expect all the latest mod-cons, but the charm of the place is amazing. Read up on Aga cooking first.
A beautiful house situated in a gorgeous location. We stayed for an extended family holiday - ages ranging from mid 60's to toddlers. Great bedrooms with plenty of bathrooms and a lovely aga to warm the house - even in August! Plenty of space for everyone, it never felt crowded, and all the little touches made it feel like home. It was a fantastic base to explore the local area, and didn't feel too touristy (compared to Aviemore). The laundry area was very useful for a week long stay.
We were very sad to leave, and if we were to return to the area, this would be our number one choice.

Biallid
A lovely old manse (I presume) full of character, plenty of room to spread and chill, demon heating system and open fire kept us toasty. Amazing amount of wildlife in the garden and just up the path by the river ... All in very enjoyable

Warm, comfortable, palatial.
We (a group of nine) stayed at Biallid House in February 2024, and used it as a base for our winter climbing trip in the Cairngorm. It was warm and luxurious. The plumbing was a tad quirky - there were no showers, although I understand that the owners plan to rectify that soon. That didn't spoil our enjoyment of the stay, though, and we all appreciated the log fire and views from the front.

Good property for a large group of friends or family
I consider this property is good value for money and is in a great location. The housekeeper Jean was very friendly and helpful .
It was a bit disappointing on this repeat visit to see that several badly misted up double glazed windows hadn’t been replaced - these have been in this condition for several years and they rather spoil the outlook from the main windows

Wildcats and Goats
Biallid House is a great place to stay to explore the local area. There were 13 of us and we did hillwalking, cycling, museum, wildlife park and other stuff. The is exactly what we expected of a place of this age and was full of character and history. Just watch out for some low doorways! The local goats keep you entertained with their wandering across the driveway and we loved seeing hares in the garden. We really enjoyed the log fire in the evening and the AGA was great.
The Wildcat Trail around the village was well used and we loved the painted cats around the village.
I fabulous week in a fantastic house- we will be back.

A touch of the Highlands
A wonderful location for exploring the Highlands. The village of Newtonmore has so much to offer by way of walks, exploring, pastimes such as golf and kayaking, etc. We ran out of time to do everything we wanted. The house was very comfortable and spacious, just right for our age range of 1 - 67.
We had brilliant weather for our week so the only thing lacking was garden furniture for sitting out of an afternoon/evening.
Jean the house manager was extremely attentive, ensuring our stay was as good as possible.
We are definitely thinking of returning another year.

Characterful and Elegant
We loved this property. It was amazing inside with lovely views. Seven bedrooms of varying standards, five bathrooms (only two showers) and two separate toilets, huge living area with well equipped kitchen. Grand piano and Aga cooker. Faded elegance and quirky is how I'd describe it. Some things didn't work but it didn't really matter. It sort of added to the charm. Ideal for large groups. Plenty of parking. The outside could do with painting and maybe a nice outdoor seating area. Jean the housekeeper is very helpful and friendly.

Large, spacious house ideal for large groups
A large, spacious house perfect for 7 youngsters to run about in and play hide-and-seek while parents and grandparents relaxed on the comfortable sofas!
The property sits in superb countryside with clear views to the Cairngorms and has a large garden area for outdoor activities.
Jean, the housekeeper, is friendly and very helpful and made it clear that she was only a phone-call away for anything whatsoever.
The Aga in the kitchen was not as hot as expected for cooking and took a bit of getting used to, but was a constant source of warmth nonetheless.
All the adults agreed that the house would benefit from a good spring clean but, as a holiday home for a week with children running in and out and leaving toys about, the dust didn’t detract from what was an enjoyable family break.
Great location. House manager very helpful. Good house but problems with electrics and plumbing. When we booked the accommodation listed that there were showers located within the house......this was not the case none of the showers worked. When we reported this we were advised that the booking agent should have told us as you had been made aware of the issue....This was a problem as we had 2 elderly people (86 years old) who could not dafely get in and out of the deep baths. I am disappointed that you did not asvise of this issue.
The house was wonderful only downside was the showers were not working which made it difficult for the less able.
Jean was super and very helpful.
Will come again
We've had several family holidays and we all agreed Biallid was the best.
Good communication over the Covid years when we had to keep postponing. Punctual and helpful. Lovely welcome to the house, the accommodation suited us perfectly, warm and plenty space. We also thoroughly enjoyed Netonmore and surrounds.
We enjoyed our holiday in Scotland so much, and I recommend the accomodation, so much

Great house in excellent location
After discussing with all those who stayed during our week there was a general feeling that the bathrooms/toilets and kitchen could do with more thorough cleaning. Otherwise this is a great house for a family holiday.
