2 bdrms, 3 baths, hot tub, pool, air conditioning, hike to Nat Park beach
Satori is a 2400+ sq/ft, 2+ level villa that that was built in 2009 and incorporates many features found in St. John's best villas, such as a pool and hot tub, central a/c, antique brick patios, marble floors, French roof tiles, a coral stone pool deck, and a gourmet kitchen.
Our villa is located on the peninsula that separates Fish Bay from Reef Bay, on the south shore of St John. Satori sits about 60 feet up the hill that overlooks Fish Bay, facing south-southwest with views of Fish Bay and the Caribbean, gentle tropical breezes and all day sun. This tranquil location also provides enough privacy for discreet "tan anywhere" sunbathing. Cruz Bay is a 10 – 15 minute drive on paved roads, except for ½ mile of dirt road in Fish Bay.
Much of the Reef Bay/Fish Bay peninsula is National Park and it's a 5 – 10 minute hike from Satori to a little known white sand, National Park beach (Cocolobo), where you are likely to be the only people on the beach.
Both bedrooms have mahogany king beds with 500 thread count linens, mahogany furniture, air conditioning, ceiling fans, and a tiled bath and travertine shower. Both bedrooms also have screened sliding glass doors that open to the deck and to the south facing views, while the corner bedroom overlooks the pool and Fish Bay.
The 20' x 10' pool is six steps below the bedrooms and is surrounded by a 400 sq. ft. coral stone sun deck with teak deck furniture, and sun from morning until late in the afternoon. Satori is a great villa for sun lovers, but the covered decks also allow you to relax outside in the shade while keeping an eye on any kids in the pool.
On a calm morning hike to Cocolobo Beach for a breakfast swim and snorkel and you’ll find yourself in turquoise waters, on a small Caribbean beach, usually all alone. The snorkeling can be very good and you may see some bigger fish, but be aware of the current around Cocolobo Cay.

Luciah was very helpful. The bed was amazing and I got a great rest every night. The home is as advertised, very quiet and scenic. It feels like youre staying in the middle of nowhere. The view of fish bay is far, but we could still hear the ocean waves. The birds and lush plant life were serene.
The place was beautiful! Amazing views from the pool & 3 decks. We had everything we needed. Our host Luciah & Jay were extremely helpful with everything. You could walk to a private rocky beach from there with really cool big shells. This place was more reasonable than most & could fit our whole family of 6. It was our first time there & we had a wonderful time.
The host was incredibly welcoming and the location is quiet and private. The house was clean when we arrived. The outdoor patio furniture did not have cushions to be able to use the deck and rooftop sitting area. The pool chlorine level was way too high but let’s be real - we weren’t in St John for the pool. If you plan to cook, bring all seasonings you’ll need with you and a lighter for the grill as the starter doesn’t work and the lighter at the house didn’t work. I did let the host know the back two burners on the kitchen gas stove would not light. I’m not sure how easily that is fixed but certainly limits cooking capacity. Honestly, we would go back for the location, but would know to bring more of the basics that we have typically found provided in other VRBO experiences.
We loved our stay here! The house was exactly as advertised. Our property manager, Luciah, was lovely and attentive, although we didn’t need much because the house had everything we needed. Upon arrival, the house was spotless and the AC had been on in every room so we were nice and cool after a long travel day in hot weather. The AC works everywhere, not just in parts of the house. The location was great, a short drive to downtown. The kitchen had everything we needed and we cooked breakfast, lunch and dinner almost every day. The pool was a huge hit with all of us but especially our toddler. And the house just had good energy, as it’s decorated with beautiful art that helped us reconnect to our mindfulness practice (if you’re into that).
Nice location. Short drive from the ferry. We enjoyed the pool and outside seating areas. The amenities were great and there is literally everything that we could imagine readily available. There is also a beach within walking distance. The host was extremely welcoming and gave great tips to get around the island. They even accomodated us during our missed flight home and that is why we will be back in the very near future. We definitely would recommend for families and adult get aways
Thank you again for hosting us.
Nice quiet area. 10 min drive to downtown and close enough to beaches. Sleeps 4 not 6. Pull out couch mattress is old and not usable. TV was broken, though not really needed. Beautiful house and pool. Only 1 swing

Hello Susan,
Thank you so much for choosing to vacation at Satori Villa! It was a pleasure to host you! The villa sleeps 6 as stated with 2 bedrooms and 1 pull out couch. There are 3 full bathrooms to accommodate this guest number as well. I grew up in the 80s and back then, a pull-out couch bed was uncomfortable with the wired mattress. This pull-out couch is different from the ones I grew up with. It is actually pretty decent. If I may say so myself. It is easy to pull out and push back in.
The TV was broken prior to your arrival by previous guests. Living on the islands, we do not have amenities on standby as fast as we would to. My sincere apologies for not having the TV available to you during your stay.
For the swing, we are working to find a set. We cannot find the exact match for the current one that is at the villa. It was broken by a guest. While things do come up, we do our best to ensure that guests have an amazing time and your needs are met to the best of our ability.
We would love to host you again in the future! If you return, we offer you a repeat renter discount of 10% off the room rate!
Tropical Regards,
Luciah
We recently chose to return to this place for a second time, and it truly felt like coming home again to paradise. The scenery around the villa is beautiful, there are pink pinapples growing on the property and different wildlife to watch in their natural habitat. The location of the home is great, it is close to shopping but far enough for privacy and space. It is encouraged to have a vehicle but the roads leading there are paved. The villa itself was immaculate and was refreshed re-painted. It’s evident that great care is taken to maintain the property; everything was clean, from the pool to the interiors. Each room feels like a private space with views of the island's natural beauty or the beautifully placed pool.In terms of amenities, the villa is fully equipped with everything you need. From high-quality kitchenware to comfortable sheets, every household item was available and in good condition. We appreciated the attention to detail, having beach towels/chairs, coolers, toys and snorkel gear readily available made our beach days even more enjoyable. The convenience of having all the essentials meant we could just grab what we needed and goSt. John itself never fails to impress we go every year sometimes twice, its beautiful beaches and chill atmosphere keep you coming back. It’s hard not to fall in love with this island. We recommend this place to family and friends.See you soon Luciah, Husband and Satori because we still didnt find the hidden beach !!
We enjoyed our stay at this villa in St. John. The beds were comfortable, the air-conditioning worked well, and the private pool was a great feature—it felt very secluded and relaxing. The upstairs living and dining areas were comfortable, though we didn’t use the TV or kitchen much since we spent most of our time exploring the island. One thing future guests should know is that the downstairs bedrooms are not accessible from inside the main level—you must go outside to reach them. This wasn’t an issue for us but could be something families with children may want to consider. Also, the location shown on VRBO is not accurate. The property is not near Cruz Bay as the map suggests. It is closer to Fish Bay and about a 15-minute drive from Cruz Bay, so having a rental car is recommended. It is mentioned in the description but again, not accurate if looking at the map view. Because the home is near a backwater area, there were quite a few bugs in the evening, so bringing bug spray is a good idea.We also appreciated that the property provided floaties, beach chairs, snorkel gear, and a cooler—those extras were a big bonus.A few minor notes: the Wi-Fi stopped working after the first night, and there were limited towels and toilet paper with no extra toiletries provided. Overall, we enjoyed the privacy of the property, and Luciah was a gracious host who met us at our car rental and showed us around when we arrived. Thank you for the hospitality.
They met us to show us how to get to the villa. The place was clean and very comfortable. Plenty of room for our group. Appreciated that beach chairs and snorkel gear were there. We hope to go back and stay again. Cruz Bay and other places about 15/20 minutes away.
This house deserves a better rating here on VRBO. We loved our stay, there were lots of birds to watch (we brought binoculars), lizards in trees, deer wandering through etc. The pool was nice and deep, and very refreshing after adventuring. We checked out the trail to Cocolobo, which is full of interesting shells. We also walked from this house to the Petroglyphs! What an adventure. Bring a lunch if you do the same. There were a few small issues with the cooking equipment but the host was very responsive and friendly. As other visitors have noted, there is no longer a hot tub which shows in older versions of this listing. You won't miss it with the pool and ample sunshine.

This was our 4th time visiting St John first time on this side of island. It was probably a 15 minute ride to Cruz bay, very quiet area overlooking a preserve. The highlight of the 3days spent here was the Scarlet Ibis in flight.
Unfortunately the thing that attracted us to the property was a hot tub, there is NO hot tub! Not a working one anyway.
While the home itself is adorable we found furnishings to be dated and worn, the grill did not work. We did reach out to property manager response was quick but lacking …?
We would not stay here again.

Dear Patricia,
Thank you for choosing Satori Villa as your vacation destination. I am sincerely sorry that you were not happy with your stay. Satori's description and photos are very transparent. We have not had a hot tub at the villa since the storms destroyed it back in 2017. If there is a photo here that shows a hot tub, it will be removed. My sincere apologies. Hope you return to St. John in the future.
This property was perfect for us. There were 2 large master suites and decks everywhere. The decks overlook the bay and a wetlands that was right below the house. We would have coffee in the morning and bird watch in the wetlands. Some of the birds we saw were;Scarlet Ibis, Egret, Heron, White Cheek Ducks, Sandover, Black Neck Stilt and many more.
