I live in the heart of Capitol Hill, a stunning (and safe) neighborhood surrounded by some of the best restaurants, markets, and transportation hubs in the city. You will have exclusive use of the unit in this listing, but I will also be on the property (in a separate unit with a separate entrance and no interior connection).
This is a beautiful residence in a fantastic location with outstanding guest reviews. But before you book, please note the following to ensure my home is a good fit: (1) This rental is only for guests looking for a relatively quiet stay. (2) Parties and events of any size are strictly prohibited and quiet hours commence at 10PM. (3) Maximum occupancy (including the outdoor space) is limited at all times to the number of individuals on your reservation (no visitors) unless you've obtained prior approval. (4) The staircase is somewhat steep. (5) Because the home sits on top of an apartment, it’s not a great match for active children who will spend a lot of time in the home (because of the running back and forth). This elegant two-story unit has two bedrooms and two and a half baths. There is also a queen size air mattress, for a total of up to six guests. The space is ideal for working remotely, with incredibly fast Fios WiFi (speeds up to 1000 Mbps) and two comfortable and bright office areas. The deck, large kitchen, and in-unit washer/dryer also make the home perfect for extended stays, which are discounted.
The unit is fully equipped: • Premium sheets, blankets, towels, toiletries, and laundry supplies • In-unit washer and dryer • Fully stocked kitchen with pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and much more • Brand new stainless steel appliances: microwave, toaster, refrigerator, gas stove, and oven • Nespresso machine, OXO coffee maker, French press, and an assortment of teas • Queen beds with premium mattresses and bedding in both bedrooms • Two full bathrooms (one with a tub) on the second floor; half bath on first floor • 65" QLED TV in the living room and LCD TV in the master, both with YouTubeTV (cable) and access to Netflix, Prime, AppleTV, and HBO accounts • Extremely cozy outdoor space with string lights, bench, and chairs • Hair dryer, iron, and clothes steamer • Central air with smart thermostat (EcoBee) • Two hour street parking during the week; unlimited street parking on nights and weekends. Longer term parking in the area can be located and reserved using sites such as SpotHero.

Overall excellent and a great location. 2 minor suggestions :Closet in Secondary bedroom was totally full of household linens ...no space for hanging clothes. Closet in primary bedroom should be cleared out alsoShower floor in primary ensuite was slippy ....needs a deep clean
Beautiful home, exactly as listed, in a lovely neighborhood. Home had everything we needed and we had a great stay. Not too far from a metro stop so transportation was easy, as well as Lyft or taxi.
This property was perfect for our stay. The house was in a great location, easy to navigate to all the sights of DC, and the home itself was very clean and just as described. Also, the owner was great and easily accessible. If we’re back in DC, we’ll stay here again.
It is a clean and well maintained, sunlight filled home on a quiet street within easy walking distance to the Capitol building. We all enjoyed our stay there. We would stay there again!

Property was nice and clean. Great location. Please add the door code to towards the beginning of the house rules as it was 3/4 of the way into the document and not easily found. There are a lot NO's and can't do's which I understand, but the constant reminder that the owner lives & works below is too much. Thank your guests for staying, rather then telling them NO.

Thanks for staying! Staying in someone’s home is different than staying in a hotel, and after doing this for 5 years I’ve found that clear communication is critical to make it work (including that the guest read the entire welcome message that includes the door code). That approach has led to some of the highest reviews in the city. The “don’t’s” are pretty standard (don’t smoke in my home, don’t make a lot of noise after 10pm or wear shoes in the home since I live below) and clearly posted in the listing itself. Since reservations often include friends and family who haven’t read the listing or the welcome message, those rules are also clearly posted in the home. I encourage all guests to reach out if they have any questions—it’s a truly great place to stay but only a good match if folks are willing to review the listing and the information that I share with you prior to staying in my home.
This apartment is the perfect place for us to stay while visiting family in Capitol Hill. Highly recommend. Many thanks to Chris for being such a gracious host!
