About this property
Over 200 acres, pet-friendly, Satellite WiFi, air hockey, & pool tables.
Centrally located for all the Hocking Hills parks or enjoy our property with your group for year-round nature loving . . .this is a great location for all the activities you want to experience.
Deer, turkeys, coyotes, foxes, rabbits, frogs, snakes, many birds, and pheasants have all been spotted on our property. If you want to explore our acreage, note that the path up the large hill behind the home at the lower house is NOT paved and can have deep crevices, wear hiking boots or sturdy shoes. There may be high grass so prepare for that and dress accordingly. During spring and summer the natural brush/grass and wet weather cause quick growth and mowing does occur on a semi-regular rotation, however, it is a "rough" path. Feel free to explore and get lost in nature while there.
The 2-bedroom cabin with 1.5 baths offers a tranquil setting in the woods and a place to make the memories you'll cherish for years to come. This home is in the woods up a gravel driveway that is hilly. There are stairs after you enter the garage to get to the living space.

We came to visit the Hocking Hills area with my sister and her family. We loved the house and the property is spectacular. The kitchen was fully stocked (we ate most every meal there) and it is very spacious. There was a lot of room to spread out. The property is massive and there are so many unique things to see on it. There is an old cemetery, a little cabin, and some beautiful ponds. The trails are well groomed and our dogs loved it! Hocking Hills hiking is quite close (about 15-20 min or so ). The property owner, Tom, is very kind and welcoming. He allowed us tour the other house on the property nearby, which is also beautiful. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to come back again!
This was a great place to ring in the new year! We had everything we needed and anything we forgot was just a short drive to a cute little grocery store.
It's an enjoyable rustic experience in the middle of the woods. The host communicated well and was very accommodating. I would definitely stay here again.
The whole family enjoyed our stay. The pool table was a hit. The cabin is beautiful and in a great location. Also loved being able to include my Westie in the family trip.
Was very impressed with how beautiful the house is!! The host was just as amazing. Communication is excellent.. will definitely be staying again if we are back in the area!
The cabin was very spacious. We spent Thanksgiving weekend there and hauled everything to the cabin, including a roaster and all our food and equipment. We had two dogs and four adults and we weren't tripping over each other. Once we figured out the thermostat, it was nice and cozy. The air hockey table offered some fun family entertainment. There his a motion light in the basement/garage area and it came on a few times when no one was down there. There was also the sound of putter patter feet racing across the ceiling in the downstairs bedroom and living room. We never saw any sign of rodents, and having lived in the country, it really didn't bother us. The house was really clean considering they allow dogs. My nephew wants to return.
It rained the whole weekend but really enjoyed sitting on the porch and watching the birds. There was also plenty to do inside as well. It was very clean and the host was very prompt in answering my questions. I definitely plan to book another stay there again!
Beautiful property, and the hosts went above and beyond for us. It was a particularly hot few days, and, even with air conditioning, the bed rooms on the second floor were quite warm. There was one box fan, but, when we asked about additional fans, the host promptly brought two oscillating fans over for us.
Very clean and cozy. We appreciated the air mattress. Our teen boys loved being able to sleep in the great room near the pool table. The beds were very comfortable also
The cabin was just as the listing described. There was no cell service but it was a nice break. The property provided a nice quit area for my family and dog to enjoy a long weekend, plenty of room and activities to enjoy our time even with the rain. It was close to the park and hiking trails. We had some hornet issues, the owner responded quickly.
Comfortable stay with great location that was close to trails we wanted to hike. Owners great with communication. Would highly recommend as a place to stay.

So glad you had an enjoyable time and were able to get out and hike the many trails nearby. Please come back again.
The cabin was great! There were plenty of walkikg trails to explore. Added bonus was the pool table.
Very easy VRBO accommodated all requests and what needed to happen for my dogs to be allowed.

About the host
Hosted by Tom
We are a group of brothers and sisters who wanted to offer a natural and private setting to experience all of what the Hocking Hills offers in a wooded setting. We are located on a 5-acre parcel that we own, and with additional brothers, we own an adjacent 200+ acre site that surrounds the home.
Why they chose this property
A log cabin built by family members in 1978 with an addition in the '90s currently offering 2 bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms with a mix of modern conveniences and the charm of a log cabin built in the woods and surrounded by nature.
Please bring tick spray or use clothing that is tick repellant treated and/or check yourselves for ticks if you hike the woods. This is not something we can prevent in the woods/acreage.
What makes this property unique
Location convenient to the Hocking Hills area parks in a central rural location.
Access to the hiking area on the property, we are part of the owners of the adjacent 200+ acre property that is also used as a short term rental. Hiking the whole property is available most of the time, the other home sleeps up to 12 people. Please note, the other home's guests may also be hiking the property, however, on 200+ acres it should not be a problem to physically distance. Things to do nearby/helpful info: • Parks include: Clear Creek, Conkle’s Hollow, Hocking Hills State Park which includes Ash Cave, Cantwell Cliffs, Cedar Falls, Old Man’s Cave, & Rock House; & Lakes: Alma, Hope, & Logan. • Canoeing, Zipline Canopy Tours, Scenic Railway, Astronomy Park, Vinton County Airport, Wayne National & Zaleski State Forests, horseback riding, fishing, both Hocking College & Ohio University. • There are no fish that we are aware of in our ponds/lakes, they are man-made pre-1978 and are not stocked. There are several nearby state parks with fishing available for you should you desire to fish. There is NO swimming in the ponds/lakes. • WiFi satellite internet service is available (ViaSat max speed is 25-50 Mbps), cell service is SPOTTY in the area. Do NOT plan to be able to get cell reception at the home, it tapers off about 2 miles away. A landline is there for your use.
Plenty to do on-site: * acreage to hike * a fire pit (do not cut our trees, if firewood is there, please use it, if desired) * air-hockey and pool tables * poker/card table (chips and cards) * Books for reading * DVDs library * Drafting table with pencils, charcoal, and paper * flat screen TVs with streaming access through Roku® and WiFi * Skylights for star gazing * Games include: Dominoes®, Scrabble®, chess, checkers, & Sequence®, corn hole, croquet, and horse shoe sets
