Our place is a perfect home base for all your up north adventures. It’s just 15 minutes drive to Shanty Creek (Schuss Mountain), 10 minutes to Bellaire, 5 minutes to Alden, 25 to Elk Rapids, and 30 to Charlevoix or Traverse City.

✨The Birch Cottage boasts 3 beautifully appointed bedrooms, 1 full bath with full size washer and dryer, spacious living room, dining area, fully equipped kitchen, and private deck/patio overlooking the water (with amazing sunsets every night!) right outside your door.

👍🏼The space is ideal for couples, groups of adults and families. Renters may not have additional guests join them at the property during their stay. We have neighbors who are full time residents and we care deeply about ensuring the area remains quiet and peaceful for them.

🐟Our cottage offers the best of both worlds- the quiet privacy of a waterfront home along with the excitement of a variety of activities right at your fingertips. We are part of a quiet, friendly community of 9 homes that share 265 feet of pristine Torch Lake frontage. During your stay, you can use a large community deck, swimming dock (in the water mid-May through mid-October), sandy beach area (perfect for little ones to wade in the water), beach volleyball court, swings, large open grassy area for yard games, picnic tables and chairs along the water.

First visit to Torch Lake

This was an amazing trip and experience that created lasting memories for our whole family. The cottage was immaculate and beautifully decorated. The updates are gorgeous, and I could sit on the porch facing the water forever. The string lights make it the most coziest place ever to decompress and relax. Our host was ever so communicative and responsive. One of our top trips ever! Also visited Grass River Natural Area, Glacial Hills Pathway, ate at Dockside (twice! *I recommend the Wonton Nachos), and got muffins from Muffin Tin. We will be back! Thanks for a great first experience at Torch!!
