We had a wonderful stay and Anna was a fantastic and responsive host. The house had everything we needed and was very comfortable. The close proximity to Lake Jocassee was perfect. Overall fantastic!
We enjoyed our time spent with our sons and grandchildren
Everything was as expected and we made lots of memories
This was our second stay here and both times were exceptional
We love coming up and staying the weekend. It's the perfect location from the lake. The house is always nice and clean and we feel right at home. We can't say enough great things and are very thankful to be able to stay!
We had a wonderful time staying at this property. It was so nice to have a pass into the state park just a couple miles down the road. The house was immaculate and well decorated. We would love to stay here again!
We always have such a great experience staying at the house! The house is always clean and plenty of room to come back from the lake and relax! Thankful for the opportunity for our family to come and make lasting memories!!
We host Thanksgiving every year but this year we had a home catastrophe a few days beforehand and our home was all torn apart! This home was the perfect size for our out of town children/grandchildren and dining room was perfect for hosting Thanksgiving for 11, could have fit more if needed. Very roomy and didn't feel like we were on top of each other. Would rent again if the need arises.

Great location for Lake Jocassee
We had a great time at this property. It was neat and clean. Big dining room was handy as there were 7 of us. Only a mile from devils fork state park and we appreciated the park pass! Didn’t like the beds though- not a fan of the memory foam. It was a little hard and could have use some more pillows. Other than that it was a good stay.

Overall pretty nice place google maps does not bring you straight to the adress but one dirt road over from it. Very steep and treacherous. There was an abundance of nats throught the house not over bearing but a good bit especially in the kitchen. Also didn't like that the grill was listed as an amenities but then stated it was gonna cost 35 extra to use. Both the wife and password were listed incorrectly on the website. Over all not a bad place to stay owner was pretty responsive. And house was decently clean minus some cob webs. Plenty of room but feel it was a little overpriced for what you got. But it was an amazing location just 4min drive from the lake.

Disappointing!
We selected this rental based on proximity to the lake and price. Our experience mirrors others, we got unexpected fees after we left the property, so we ended up paying more for our stay. Four days after our departure we’ve been charged with $259 for a damaged faucet - which we never broke. Communication was shut down after the first attempt to present our side of the story. VRBO is useless, and the host knows and counts on that. We usually read more carefully the reviews, but we rushed this time and thought we’d give it a chance. A disappointing experience!
Well we wanted this to be a great rental but turns outs the only good thing is location and price. Yea it's close to the state park at a good rate. The downfall is the following: When we arrived, the house was very musty and had mold on the walls of the bathroom. I let it go as we were only there for a couple days and it was an older house. Now after checking out was a different story the owner is very unreasonable and not accommodating at all. She accused me of leaving the house a "Huge Mess" bc the place mats from the dining table where not put back and the silver ware was not in the correct location..... Which is was.... also there was a note on the grill saying there would be a $35 charge if the grill was not cleaned after use. So, I went above and beyond to clean the grill and drip pan after only cooking burgers and dogs once on it. Apparently if you use the grill at all then be prepared to pay that $35 bc I cleaned it better than I found it.
She was also upset that we left one cardboard box and a plastic jug in the trash can and it was not in a bag.
She is now trying to charge me $500 for this which is crazy!
I have never had a issue renting on VRBO till now but this Host has now made me very cautious and I will pay way more attention to who I rent from.
My suggestion find a better place to stay with a much better host.
Good luck and Don't stay here!
We have been coming up to the lake for Labor Day weekend the past few years and it is always a must to stay at the house. We couldn't ask for a better set up for a weekend getaway. It is close to the park and easy access for our boat. The house is always clean and ready to go for us. We always feel right at home and are thankful for them allowing us to stay!
The rental process was uneventful. The hostess was easily accessible for very minor hiccups. The home is beautiful and provided all the amenities of home and more.
The house was really clean and nice. But the road was so steep that we couldn't get up the hill with our boat, especially in the rain and the road is wet. 2 days in a row, we had to push the truck up the hill. Wish there was a description stating that the drive way to the house was steep. If you do don't have a 4×4, do not rent this house. You will end up pushing your car/truck up the hill, no joke...
Our friends and our family (two families with teens) rented this property. The seven of us had plenty of room to hang out together and have privacy at the same time. Anna was very quick responding to messages and made the process clear and convenient.
My friend is a picky cook and this kitchen was much better than other houses we have rented, especially for the price. Everything was nice, well kept, clean and super comfortable. The bathrooms had plenty of space. It is about 3 minutes from the boat ramp; there was plenty of space to park two trucks with a Seadoo. The lot is surrounded by woods and you can barely see a neighboring house so it feels very private.
A few things to be aware of for travelers (not really a downside): The wifi does not have good reception for streaming TV but you can still use your cell phone. Other cabins and parks do not have any signal so we consider this a plus given the location and beauty of this lake. There is no food delivery but you can drive 20-30 minutes to the nearest towns for food trucks, pizza and even a nice steakhouse.
Overall, we loved everything. We will stay again when we come to this area.
Very nice and clean. The only down side was the TV didn’t get local channels and the one in the bedroom didn’t get good reception. We went out on the lake every day and it would have been great to get the local weather. However we had an amazing time.
My family and I are water people. Jocassee water is unique, swimming here is amazingly pleasant. My husband and I take the jet skies in search for the lake water falls for swimming and observing the fish. Lake is so big, fresh and so fun.
Why they chose this property
It is very close to my most favorite lake. Jocassee lake.
