Charleston Lakeside Retreat is a small "resort" consisting of 5 rental cabins and owner home. The property was originally used as a church camp in the early 1900's and the buildings all face the lake in a "U" shape in groupings of two with an large shared lawn space. The property feels much like a small gated community. It's a lovely place to escape the hustle and bustle to enjoy nature.
We are located on a peninsula with one dock on either side. One side offers incredible views, and the other side - fabulous deep swimming. There are three beaches within a 10min drive.
Boat/trailer parking is offered to guests with their own boats pending availability. Maximum of one boat/trailer per cabin. Please contact us prior to booking to confirm availability.
Guests are asked to tidy up after themselves and to be considerate of others during their stay. Many of the furniture pieces are family heirlooms - please use provided coasters and treat our property with care. Towels are not included with your stay to preserve our well and septic systems. Please bring your own or contact us to arrange towel rental.
We live on the property and will be here to greet you and show you around. If you would like to explore the area and are looking for things to do - please let us know. We are happy to help.
We care about the enjoyment of all guests on site as well as our investment.

Our group was a little disappointed with many features to make it a comfortable stay. Wifi was slow and sporadic, cupboards would not closed properly, lack of pots with lids and the fridge had a few issues.
The owner was very friendly and she makes some of the best soap around. It is close to the national park where there is a beach to swim. Used the stand-up board and kayaks . Bring your own life jacket to ensure a proper fit.
It would be a great place for young families as there is ample space for the children to play and have a campfire.
We really enjoyed the property and the cottage was lovely. Rustic and clean. Would recommend!
