The property has a to die for view of Chateaux Ambroise and is located on an island in the Loire. The town is just a 5 minute walk across the bridge. The apartment is at the top of a small house. There is AC and a well stocked kitchen. It is quiet and secluded. Parking is a 5 minute walk across walk but not problems. Remember to drop off your bags at the house. The staircase is two floors but not a problem. Chantal is there when needed. She is inobtrusive and efficient. Overall an excellent experience.

Our stay was perfect. Chantal is a jewel of a host and a delightful person on top of it all. She's on site in the unit below, which is great. She's respectful of privacy, but ready and willing to help. The view of the chateau is incredible and all is exactly as advertised. Magical.

The view changes during the evening as the lights change on the chateau. It is beautiful!!! The host was helpful and funny. The place was clean and spacious. Some stairs. It was very comfortable for us.

Fantastic location with a stunning view, just a short walk into the old town.Very comfortable bed, and charming and helpful host.You can park outside to unload, load, then you need to park in the outside parking area which is only a few minutes walk away.It is a fantastic base from which to visit the many sites of Amboise. A few points to note are:The apartment is on the top floor and to access there are steep, narrow steps, so not great for anyone with limited mobility, although no problem for us.While it does have air con, it is only in the main lounge/kitchen and not in the bedrooms, but there is a fan. There is a small fridge but no freezer.The washing machine is in the basement. We would thoroughly recommend this apartment to anyone looking for somewhere to stay. It is very quiet and the view and the host, were exceptional.

Our two nights at La Porte Bleue were delightful. Chantal’s warm communication ahead, and gracious welcome at the train station made our arrival easy. The location, directly across from the chateau, was spectacular; day and night views were picture perfect. The two comfortable bedrooms, spacious great room, well-fitted out kitchen and compartmentalized bath were charming, and exactly what the three of us needed. We give the lovely La Porte Bleue our highest recommendation!

This is an excellent location right across from the chateau providing a beautiful view. Our host was very friendly and accommodating to our needs. Clean, comfortable, good internet connection, convenient to shops and restaurants. Recommend for a stay in Amboise.

Our upstairs lodging at La Porte Bleue was so lovely! Chantall, our host went above and beyond to accomodate our needs. We were able to do laundry. She gave us excellent tips on Amboise, and made our stay comfortable and fun. We had full access to a well outfitted kitchen and luxuriated in large beds in spacious rooms. Thwre was plenty of room to visit and eat. We had access to the entire upstair unit of her cute home.The lodging is right across the river from a chateau. The lights from it reflected over the Loire beautifully at night. I cannot speak highly enough about our visit and our host's kindness. The location is VERY close to the quaint part of Amboise and walking distance to a grocery store, and many other shops.

The most incredible Chateau views!Chantal was very hospitable, friendly, and communicative - the perfect host. The property was clean and well maintained. Highly recommend, our only regret was that we couldn’t stay longer.

This was such a perfect location with a lovely view of the Château of Amboise. Parking was convenient and close. The best was the host! Chantal couldn’t have been more helpful with everything, including her help to haul our suitcases upstairs! (She insisted even though we could have managed fine.) An excellent stay!

The apartment was lovely, albeit with a low entry point and short entry door, and the location was exceptional. We parked the car when we arrived and never used it again until we left, three days later. The host was warm and kind as well. Wonderful overall stay.

Charming and beautifully located. Chantal was an excellent host. We had a problem with the heater during our October visit and she came and fixed it right away. There is a view of the Chateaux, just across the river, from the dining room window! It was an experience being on this slim island in the center of the river. We were delighted with the ambience and accessibility to the sights. A note for people with mobility concerns, one enters via a narrow staircase.

Magnifique!

Chantal's La Porte Bleue was perfect for our stay in Amboise. The air conditioning kept everything at just the right temperature night and day. Chantal was there to greet us at the railroad station and made sure we were all settled in. Her recommendations for restaurants and nearby sites were great. I highly recommend this little treasure located directly across from the castle at Amboise.

Fantastic Apartment

Chantal’s apartment was absolutely charming! It was very spacious, immaculate, had cozy beds and a terrific little kitchen with everything you needed. On top of that the view from it to the Amboise Castle was just remarkable! Our hostess was lovely and made us feel right at home. If you are going to Amboise do not pass up this precious gem!

Incredible great accomodation

It's just the perfect place to be in Amboise! Spectacular view of the river Loire and the royal castle. Very nice, clean and comfortable apartment, just like a home abroad. Chantal is the perfect host, very friendly, cordial and helpful with many recommendations and ideas as to sightseeing and restaurants. There is an open-air swimmingpool very close by, perfect on a hot day and also with a great view of the castle. with with with
