We very much enjoyed staying at the Old Stables. It is a lovely, comfortable place to stay. We especially liked the well-equipped kitchen and spacious dining/lounge area which was good for family activities. The showers were good. Easy to get to local shops (about a 15 min drive). A lot of wonderful places to explore within a short drive, without having to battle the crowds in the Lakes.
We chose this property based on the descriptive of being an idyllic retreat. Having arrived I looked out of the main lounge window to see a half naked man in the garden of his property (?) which was not shown in the photos and was situated close to the side of the cottage. Said gent then decided to mow his lawn for 45 minutes- idyllic not!
Cottage is clean but looking tired in certain areas. Location (other than being closed in by unexpected neighbours) lovely and close to Kirkby Lonsdale.
