Prime location, modest, fresh and easy clean attractive absolute beach front

Fabulous location absolute beach frontage, a dream little modest retreat. ‘Tata Treat’ is newly painted inside, new carpet, new curtains, new table and chairs, recently purchased new bed and BBQ etc. Ideal for romantic getaway for one couple but will accommodate 3/4 maximum but not preferred. Lie in bed and look straight out to sea, gaze at the beautiful Tata islands and distant mountains framed with Pohutakawa trees. The golden sandy beach and beautiful blue sea is literally only a few steps away. This is the gateway to the famous Abel Tasman National Park with its wonderful walks, recreational fishing and water sports. There are many little galleries and places of cultural and historic fascination located nearby to visit. This quite stylish little holiday unit is well serviced and only 6 minutes from excellent cafes and restaurants. Your comfort and relaxation is assured. You will not be disappointed with your choice - right on the beach !
Wonderful water sports in the summer, petanque court on site, gorgeous golden sandy beach. Beautiful beach and bushwalks, Tata treat has absolute beach frontage, access to canoe hire, 6 mins to excellent supply shop, cafes and restaurants, good fishing, Takaka township only approx. 15 mins away with entertainment, many shops cafes and restaurants, bicycle hire etc . Can visit caves, fish farm, many boutique cottage industries, galleries, amazing rock formations etc. and take gorgeous scenic walks.
Special conditions:
All clients are requested to treat property and contents with respect and care. No responsibility is taken on the part of the property owners for injury caused by misuse of equipment eg bbq, oven etc. Electric blankets and heaters used at own risk. All water comes off the roof and is stored in tanks. For good health reasons you are advised to use bottled water for all drinking use.
Summer rates $235.00 nightly rate, shoulder rates $200.00 nightly rate, winter $180.00 nightly rate.

Extras: Cleaning (NZ$90.00 per stay); Linen $40 and water (in summer only) $35.00. Any additional guests over two will cost $25 each per night

Wasn’t to bad, very pricey for what you get. Having a pump added to water system to get a better shower would be nice, also having wifi is a must these days considering the price that was charged. Better cooking facilities wouldn’t go a miss either on those windy days & chilly nights View was amazing tho

I wasn't expecting the Ritz... But

Objectively, if this were a hotel/motel it would have a 1-star rating. Although it's had some new carpet, overall it is very tired with horrible lighting, dated everthing and not what I would consider a comfortable place to kick your feet up for a week (especially for the cost). I found a cockroach in the cutlery draw and we could hear vermin scuttling around in the ceiling at night. The rates are about double what they should be. I'm perplexed this property had an 8/10 rating when I booked. Disappointing and feeling ripped off. Doubt I'll use bookabach again.

Location is perfect, inside is very tough

I come from an area where camps on the water are common so mildew is always something you battle. Unfortunately, this property although it could be amazing has been let go. For the money paid, and it was substantial, I would not recommend it. In fact if you have kids or any respiratory issues I would absolutely look elsewhere. I had a sore throat every morning due to the mildew within the property but as I left the house it got better and my first night elsewhere I was perfectly fine. The location is unmatched I agree on that, but a dehumidifier and getting rid of rugs, old furniture, drapes, and maybe even going to the studs is absolutely needed to save this little place. We couldn't even use the silverware because of the mildew smell on it, never knew that could even happen. Location - 5 starsMildew issues- 1 star as it was very very difficult to breath in for more than 10 minutes.Parking and finding the location was also not easy but we did arrive late so I don't blame the owner as they did have a caretaker that would have met us I believe.

We’re a family of 4 and Stayed 2 nights here at Tata Treat. It is a magic spot. Would be a little small for 4 if the weather was no good, but when the sun is out no problems.

Location was amazing

The location was great but it wasn’t as secluded as originally thought . The heating was poor and the fridge froze all of our food 😂. Over all the room had everything we needed so can’t complain with the beautiful views.

Location fabulous - would have been great if windows were clean. Initially no toilet paper - but found it in a cupboard. Minimal washing up liquid and soap for the stay. Wonderful spot but crowded space - could be so much more.

Location - great. Property = tired & not up to Bookabach standard

Aside from the location which is top class - property was totally substandard - this property was not up to the standard of my then tired student flat of over 50 years ago eg. stained old carpets, inadequate power points - cables all over the place, shower held held on with tape, appliances third world standard, cluttered - storage in open racks in the rooms We could go on !

Always Perfect

We've stayed in this gloriously located beachside unit for many years and its appeal lies in its absolute beachfront position. Whilst its appointments may be seen as modest it does offer so much more than mere fixtures and fittings! It offers the sounds and smells of the sea, the beautiful views across the bay to the Tata Islands and, love it or hate it, very good cellphone coverage.

IT IS WHAT IT IS!

The descrip;tion of the property is accurate - it is a fairly run-down, shabby, ex motel unit right on the beach. However, it is very well equipped except no hair dryer and would recommend either owner or renters provide an umbrella for the beach as the property provides everything else. I would certainly consider staying again IF the place was better presented - carpet v stained, curtains need replacing, the outside chairs/table and patio area could do with a water blasting, and windows cleaned. The big selling point is the location!!!

Just what we ordered

Absolutely as advertised this wee place was great. We read the reviews beforehand so knew modest was it. Perfect for us all we wanted was a beachfront place to paddle board from. But we got more...well stocked place, all you could do want and super clean. Would have been a bit different if other units next to us were busy as privacy not so great but as it was had whole place to ourselves. Good value.

Perfect place to go for a quiet weekend getaway. Amazing location and view of the sea. Unit itself could have been a little cleaner with regard to cobwebs and mould. Overall though, its a great place to stay.

Brilliant location

Location made this a great place to stay - in a basic Bach cottage attached to others right on beach front. Would highly recommend for safety reasons that the hot water is adjusted to safe level as it is scalding out of the tap - potetntially unsafe especially for children.
