Our second stay here. Super cosy for winter stays. Enjoyed the proximity to the estuary and ocean beach and the amazing view. Love the new covered deck area and also the fact that the kitchen has everything you could need.

Great location and views

We had a great stay, really enjoyed our time at the house. It had everything we needed. Particularly enjoyed the large deck, water views, and the short walk to the beach.

I can't say enough good things about this bach. What a privilege to be able to stay here a few days. A great space, incredible views and location, and the whole place just had a lovely relaxed feel, and all the amenities and requirements one can need. Many thanks!

What a relief when we arrived

When you book a bach you’re never 100% sure until you get there. What a relief when we arrived! Stunning spot, close to the water with beautiful views. The house is very comfortable with a great layout and so private. Will definitely stay there again.

Mint spot overlooking estuary

Great spot in Mangawhai, overlooks estuary and has a very short walk to get down to water. On the same road as surf beach so easy to get there as well. Has a Webber bbq and kitchen is all set up with everything you need to cook for large family/group. The house itself is very tidy as well. The front and back deck can also be closed off with a gate so you don't need to worry about toddlers escaping which was nice. Only suggestion would be to get the shade sail reinstalled as we were concerned about letting our toddlers play on the deck for extended periods of time with no shade. Really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a getaway to Mangawhai.

So glad you enjoyed the stay and thanks again for staying with us. Regarding the shade sail, unfortunately the location is too windy which is why it has been removed and getting damaged, however, the owners are looking into putting in a more permanent cover to the deck, hopefully for next summer.

The house and location is stunning. There is so much beautiful space to be with friends/family and the house has all the amenities one might need. I would recommend this spot for those reasons. I would like to share how the communication dynamic with the host felt uncomfortable and something to consider though. As a new VRBO user I was asked a number of personal questions that felt beyond necessary (i.e., profession, ID, description and age of all guests). There were a number of emails and messages in the lead up to the stay that felt more like a living/lease arrangement, rather than a holiday house rental. We were also required to coordinate timing with the house manager upon arrival and they entered the house while we were there in a way that felt invasive.

Fabulous location with beautiful views.

Fabulous location with beautiful views. We took our own umbrella as couldn't see any in the photos and was needed for the front deck. Short walk to estuary - loved watching the tides and the boats. Thanks to owners for the bottle of wine. Well appointed house with well equipped kitchen. Sheltered rear deck space was great too. Driveway exiting needed planning for that tight corner. Loved our week there.
