Thank you for being a super tidy guest all the best. Kind regards Shona
My host was very generous with me, allowing an early arrival time due to my bus getting into Te Anau in the morning on a wet day. The little house was very comfortable, excellent location for walking everywhere. The kitchen had a large assortment of cooking tools, making meals easy to have in. My host checked in with me a few times via email, and was prompt with answers to my questions.

Cosy cottage
A very central house with all the trappings of a short stay house.
Has a great homely feel with basic pantry necessitys.
Would stay again if we where down that way.
Comfortable house back from the lake, but easy walk to it and town. Only downside - not a big one - was that the water pressure throughout the house was a bit low. Would stay again.
The accommodation was outstanding, with all of the facilities available to make my four days in Te Anau really enjoyable. The property was located very close to the lake front and near to the town centre. It was extremely comfortable and furnished to a high standard. I would recommend Cosy Cottage to anyone wishing to stay in Te Anau to enjoy the lake and mountain scenery.

This was a great place to stay within easy reach of both Manapouri and Milford Sound, as well as Te Anau itself. The house was easy to find, within walking distance to town, and provided everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. Thank you!

Spacious home with all the amenities, and with a very homey feel, and we'll tended gardens.
We had a very happy time staying here and the lake was literally down the road. Local shops were a 10 min walk away with plenty of options for eating in or takeaway. After an all day tour to Milford Sound we were very glad to get back and collapse in comfort.

We had a great stay at Shona’s cottage in Te Anau- it is big and spacious with everything we needed and more-not one but 2 decks, great kitchen and the location was excellent- close to lake and shops and activities- after a long day hike on Kepler track or trip to Milford Sound it was great to return to such a comfortable base. Communication was quick and we loved it- thank you Shona ! Would happily return if ever back in Te Anau!

A well-equipped house and roomy.
A pleasant garden area for sitting out at the back for barbecues or reading. It is set in a quiet location only a few minutes from the lake. It is near all the main places you might want to visit - cycle trails, walks round the lake, access to the Kepler track and ideally placed for Milford road. We are planning to come again. Thank you so much for sharing your lovely family home with us.

We spent four weeks in this very comfortable home to enjoy our time in Te Anau. The kitchen had everything we needed for home cooking as well as a new BBQ. Relaxing on the decks during the days or evenings was ideal as they were at opposite ends of the house. We recommend The Redcliffe for a drink or meal which is a very short walk from the house. We did a lot of hiking close by as well as going on a historic Fiordland sailing cruise on the lake. Shona was a very good host and communication was great. We would not hesitate to stay again and we highly recommend this vacation rental.

We had a great stay in Te Anau. The house is spacious, well equipped and comfortable with a nice secluded garden at the back. The two outside seating areas were relaxing and we often sat on the deck at the front watching the sunset over the mountains. The location was excellent, just down the road from a lovely lakeside path into town. We also discovered a good coffee shop around the corner.
Thanks for a great stay!

We had a great time staying at this lovely house
It has everything you need to cook and rest after long days out, including BBQ
Pantry is stocked with basic supplies and few cans of food, I assume guests leftovers, so we contributed too, leaving nuts mix for next guests
Earlier guests left breakfast mix and fresh yoghurt in the fridge for us, very thoughtful, thanks
House is nicely decorated and full of family photos
Clean and smell nice, please respect it and carpet is clean, please take your shoes off, make it lasts long time
Thank you for having us
Highly recommended

About the host
Hosted by shonawa3
I am now retired but previously my husband & I ran a transport business and on selling this I became a support worker for the elderly which I did until I retired. I also volunteer at the spca op shop which I enjoy immensely. We live on a 5 acre farmlet at West Plains Invercargill and love going to our cottage in Te Anau
Why they chose this property
We love our cottage and find it cosy in the winter and in the summer there is a large back yard to enjoy by having a barbeque playing cricket or just lazing about in the sun. Lots of room to park the boat and lots of board games jigsaws dvds in case its wet.
What makes this property unique
Great mountain views from the lounge sunroom main bedroom and of course the large deck at the front of the cottage. A two minute walk to the lake and a five minute walk to the town centre where you will find two supermarkets and lots of restaurants. Lots of trip to be found enjoying the sights of Te Anau.
