Rustic 2 Bedroom home nestled in the Bethells area.
Stunning views of Bethells Beach and the Sand Dunes that lead to the beautiful Lake Wainamu. Relax and unwind in this Bach surrounded by natural beauty and birdsong. In the day hear the birdsong of the Tui and in the evening listen out for the unmistakable call of the Ruru (Morepork) Owl.

Only nature at it's very best.
This beautiful bach is perfect for a family vacation or a romantic getaway. Or a quick 2 minute drive to the beach for a walk along Bethells beach or a surf over the hill at the well know O'Neils surf beach.
In the summer there is the Bethells Cafe which offer food and beverages.
A beautiful location for a winter escape, rug up and explore the beach and then come home and relax in front of a roaring fire.
A 10 minute drive will take you back to the Waitakere Golf club.
You have the luxury of privacy of a whole house, offering value for money and accommodating up to 8 people.
We have wi-fi at the bach and a land line for local calls. There is now a mobile tower in the area so you can stay connected. .

Extras: Cleaning (Required, NZ$100.00 per stay); This is to assure you have the most comfortable stay possible along with clean linen.

Ruru Cottage was a perfect base for a quiet weekend near the beach for our small group. Clear information was provided beforehand, and the place had everything we needed. We especially appreciated the fireplace and beautiful view.

If there was an option to give a 9.99 rating it would be because Shrek 1 (what we REALLY wanted to watch) was missing from the HUGE dvd collection (they had 2,3 and 4).Apart from that everything was perfect.Will definitely be coming back again and have already recommended the batch to some friends.

Ruru cottage stay

Such a peaceful and serene location. The house is a perfect little retreat, great beach access.

Bethells Beach

We enjoyed our stay at Ruru Cottage. Unfortunately the cyclone hit this area hard and many areas were closed down. Nevertheless, we enjoyed our walks on Bethells Beach. Ruru Cottage was well equipped communications with Paula were excellent.

Simply stunning

A charming cottage for a family getaway, we couldn't have asked for more. The house was exceptionally clean, the communication excellent, and the location breathtaking. We played many board games and watched a few DVDs, it was exactly the holiday we were after. We'd definitely return to Ruru Cottage.

Ruru cosey cottage

Cosey cottage. Loved the fire. Nestled up the hill with views to the sea. Access to basic cooking amenities salt, pepper, oil and coffee plunger needed.

Hi Mandy You asked me before you stayed at the property if we provided pepper and salt and oil etc which I replied - (you are required to bring your own food and beverages. That includes oil, seasonings and teas and coffee's etc.) There was however pepper and salt on the bench by the stove top for your use. There is a coffee machine on the bench for you to use, also a coffee plunger in the cupboard. I will make sure that this is more accessible for the next guests. Regards Ruru Manager.

Can’t be faulted

Another amazing stay -we love this place. Average weather didn’t matter when we walked along the beach, watched old-school dvds, sat by the fire and played lots of games. Spotlessly clean and so welcoming. Thanks for letting us enjoy Ruru cottage. Mānawatia a Matariki!

I live and work in the Bethells valley and as property manager (Not owner) I am on hand for any questions you may have, I sincerely hope you have a lovely stay at Ruru Cottage and enjoy what the area has to offer.

This property offers stays for up to 8 people in your own private home with exceptional views of the rugged west coast. This is value for money only 1 hour from the air port and 45 minutes from Auckland city. This is a great family vacation home or ideal for those brief stop off's in Auckland.
