Overall the house had a nice location on a secluded bay on Lake Champlain. The house itself was decent and offered room for all in our party. It did not have central air and it was extremely hot during our stay. The three upstairs bedrooms did have window units with one being very loud. The downstairs 2 bedrooms did not have any AC and overall the basement was very warm. The house itself was decent but not a lot of character you would expect of a lake house for the money we paid. Also, and this was not disclosed when we booked, you could not drink the tap water. The owner provided 3 5 gallon jugs of drinking water but we ran out of that water within a few days for a group our size. When I called the owner they would not provide anymore water and said the 3 jugs were a courtesy. Overall we had a nice time but the price was steep for what was offered as far the house style, location, and amenities.
This was probably the most comfortable house we’ve ever rented - for the porch alone I would recommend it! But the view, the quiet, the beauty of the place, the house had everything we could have needed - it was hard to leave. We will miss waking up to the view of the lake and mountains.
Our family of 4 enjoyed being here. Our sons loved being near Burlington for the skate park, and we loved biking and just relaxing by the Lake. I'd say it's a 4.5 star just due to the price your paying and the quality of the house itself. While on vacation we usually have most meals at the house and we did not love the kitchen. All supplies are messy and old plates etc. That's the only complaint - owner was very responsive and helped out when we forgot to bring our own linens. IF you want peace and quiet and a lovely area this is the spot for you! The house was very clean when we arrived as well.
