Great communication from the owners and a really nice property. Lots of space in the house and the grounds are beautiful. About a 5 minute drive to a lovely beach. We’d definitely come back!
Fabulous property! Home was very clean and well maintained gardens. Kristen was very attentive in response time. Great location, close to restaurants, golf courses. Fantastic private beach & priceless sunsets!
The property was lovely. The house really nice. Mattresses were cozy. The outside spaces were absolutely pristine and a pleasure to be in. Inside we had plenty of space for our family, parents, brother and dog. Hot tub was amazing. A few small things were immediately fixed by the host including running out a new stand up paddle board paddle and some new wax for the shuffleboard table.
We were really looking forward to this stay, but unfortunately there were several serious concerns that made the experience disappointing and unsafe.Upon arrival, we found a large, active beehive on the property. I was stung during the stay, which caused my foot to swell significantly and made it difficult to enjoy the trip. The property also had cut pieces of pressure-treated wood left in the fire pit, which is extremely unsafe to burn due to the release of toxic chemicals. These issues raised real safety concerns.Additionally, there was an old, fragile wooden box that partially broke after I simply placed some items on it. It was not labeled as decorative or fragile, nor did it seem functional. I treated the property with care and left it clean and in good condition.Despite this, the host messaged me after the trip with accusations of damage and mess, which I believe are unfounded and unfair. I feel the host’s focus should have been on ensuring the property was safe and properly maintained for guests.I’ve raised these concerns directly with Vrbo, as I don’t believe the listing reflected the reality of the property’s condition. Also due to do all the safety concerns we actually left a day early

We’re sorry to hear that this stay didn’t go as planned and that there was discomfort.
However we would like to clarify a few points you mentioned in your message:
• Bees: Our property has extensive gardens that naturally attract pollinators, but there are no active hives or nests. No other guests this season have reported a bee problem. If concerns had been raised during the stay, we have a cottage next door and, if not there, we can usually be at the property within 30–40 minutes to help. Since this was never mentioned at check-in or while the property was occupied, we only became aware of these concerns after checkout.
• Firewood: We do not supply firewood for guests, and we have never provided or removed pressure-treated wood. It’s possible that a prior guest brought their own and left some behind.
• Wooden Box: The box near the BBQ was decorative and intact prior to the stay. It seems contradictory to describe it as “not functional” but still use it in a way that caused it to break. Regardless, we were never notified during or after the stay, and a simple heads-up would have been appreciated.
• Garbage Bin: The outside garbage bin was not closed properly, which allowed animals to get in and create a mess. This required extra cleanup after departure.
We always take guest safety and comfort seriously, and we encourage guests to reach out immediately with any concerns so they can be resolved quickly. Unfortunately, none of these issues were raised until after we contacted the guest regarding the garbage cleanup and the broken box.
We just wanted to make sure these clarifications are on record so the situation is accurately understood.
