Our stay was significantly impacted by construction in the building, particularly during the final two days. Although possible construction was disclosed, the actual conditions went far beyond what we reasonably expected. The grinding of floors above us was so loud that we could not carry on a normal conversation inside the condo.Drywall dust covered the interior of the condo, our luggage and clothing, as well as the elevators. Everything we touched was coated in white dust. Additionally, the hallway lights went out, making entering the building uncomfortable and concerning.We made a genuine effort to work with the host to find a reasonable resolution. Unfortunately, the host’s response was that construction had been disclosed, with no willingness to compromise or offer even a partial refund for the portion of our stay that was severely affected.We understand that construction can occur, and we acknowledge that it was mentioned in the disclosure. However, there is a significant difference between the possibility of construction and conditions that make a property feel more like an active work site than a vacation rental.We believe guests deserve a reasonably clean, comfortable, and safe environment, along with a host who is willing to work toward a fair resolution when circumstances substantially affect their stay. Unfortunately, that was not our experience, and we left disappointed with both the conditions and the way our concerns were handled. The view was great!
