Fascinating house and great location. Kitchen had everything you could imagine. It was a pleasurable stay. Our host Dino was available to answer any questions we had. Highly recommended.
beautiful home that is so well cared for. Grateful for the opportunity to host our thanksgiving for our family at this home. Great location, fabulous Mountain View’s with sunsets and a chefs kitchen made for a wonderful holiday.
We really enjoyed our stay. The home was a wonderful place to stay for a few days while we visited the area for family weekend at the University of Arizona. The host was very welcoming and gave us a little history on the home his father built.

Thank you for choosing the Westward Look house. You and your pets were perfect guest!
The home and views of the mountains are magnificent. Great space in the back to sit and gaze. The home is well appointed, bed and bedding so comfortable and Dino was a gracious and helpful host. Hope to return.
We were in Tucson for our daughter’s graduation. Dino’s home was the perfect getaway for us. It was an easy drive to campus, located in peaceful foothills, close to shopping and grocery stores. The home is lovely, very comfortable furnishings, well-equipped kitchen, awesome yard. Dino is great host and great communicator. We would definitely rent this home again!

Mary, thank you for your review. You and your family were perfect guest and hope you come back again!
Unmatched view, superbly designed mid century modern home. Excellent host, lives in separate portion of the house. Ideal for a couple, with small pet or child. Great location, expansive pool and yard.
Ultimate location for Tucson, shopping, restaurants, trail access.
Perfect location for many activities. Some quirks in the house but beautiful mountain vistas and well appointed inside and out.
Host Dino was available if needed and a pleasure to meet. Easy laidback atmosphere with great location and views and space.
This home is in just a wonderful location in Tucson. The house has unique furnishings, a very well stocked kitchen, and a wonderful patio with a fantastic view. Dino was a lovely host-kept us informed, answered any questions we had and let us have our fun. We intend to return soon!
Yes,we must say…it was one of the best stays we have ever had and it’s the 4th time that we have come to Tucson.
The house is designed as an architecture magazine.
Dino was a perfect host, always available if needed.
If we come back next winter, this house will be our 1st choice.

Scenery is so lovely even with the snow we experienced. You do have to see it all for yourself. I went for a short walk often and saw and heard some different birds that don't live in Minnesota. Horseback riding is just across the road and that looked like a good introduction to desert life. There are great grocery stores and a Beyond Bread restaurant within a couple "blocks". We aren't familiar with Mexican food but the Seis Kitchen was great. The bike loop is accessible about 5 miles away. All in all it is a wonderful place to spend time especially for us "super seniors"

My husband and I stayed for two weeks and enjoyed every moment of our trip. The mid-century modern home, designed by the father of our host, was beautiful, well-furnished and clearly sighted to take advantage of the mountain views from both in and outside of the house. We watched the mountains and sky change colors every night.
Dino was an extraordinary host. Prior to arriving we had several text and telephone exchanges that were very helpful. On arrival we met Dino for only a few minutes as he had just received news of a family emergency. He left shortly after we met him and was gone during our entire stay. Despite travel, time differences and the grave nature of his family emergency, he communicated with me regularly to make sure we had everything we needed and that we were enjoying our trip. I felt I came to know him personally throughout this period and was very impressed by his thoughtfulness and attention. I highly recommend this place. In fact, I have already recommended it to two different friends who often spend time in Tucson!

Thank-you, Dino, for sharing this home.
I have to say it was one of the best stays i have ever had. First of all, Dino, the host is a great, friendly and accomodating. the house is designed right out of an architecture magazine. The interiors are spectacular -- as well as the views of the mountains. The price should have been double!
My husband and I completely enjoyed our stay at this very special home. It was part architectural tour given the mid-century design and the thoughtfulness of the design - and full vacation/relaxation space given the wonderful views, patio, pool and large rooms. I have never stayed at a rental that was better supplied, and was even able to have family over for a dinner given the amenities of the kitchen/dining space! In addition, the home is well located to shopping and restaurants. The owner, Dino, was very available if needed, but also completely unobtrusive. We will definitely be back!! As Hans B said in a prior review "Do it!"
We stayed for 2+ weeks in Sept 2021 and really enjoyed our stay. Like a home away from home; felt like a home and not a "guest house." Comfy king bed with good linens and a tv in master. Good sized bathroom with 2 sinks. Step down shower (i.e. not ADA if you need it); otherwise everything is on one level with no steps. Huge closet with more than enough space for all our clothes and suitcases. In fact, lots of storage everywhere, except for limited pantry space. Everything else in the kitchen was fabulous – all the appliances and dishes you would have in your own home – including a high end blender, Keurig and salad spinner – and so much more! Super cool that the owner keeps martini and beer glasses in the freezer for you. Great dining room with a view – perfect for entertaining. There’s a 2nd bedroom with queen bed that also has a great office space (which we well used for work from home – wifi plenty fast with two of us working on it). Living room tv is large with basic Xfinity cable. Full size washer/dryer you share with owner. The pool is just for the guests and we used it every day! As well as the two pool floaties provided; though you do need to be the pool maintenance crew while you're there. Large covered patio with comfy furniture and a grill. It’s just plain fun to be surrounded by the mid-century architecture, design and finishes. And lots of related books (and fiction books) for your reading pleasure. Loved waking up to and watching the beautiful view out the master and back windows. A couple of maintenance items that came up were addressed quickly by the owner, who lives on the other side of the house (but you don't even know he's there). Temps in the living/dining areas can get a bit warm on summer 110 degree days because of the mid-century AC supply, but there were well-placed fans that still allowed us to be comfortable. Note there is no garage or covered parking, though you can be strategic with tree shade. Several easy hikes within walking distance. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.
The Westward Look Guest House is not your typical vacation rental. It has the look and feel of a real home. The kitchen is stocked with everything you could possibly need; the living areas are very comfortable, and the outdoor living space, including the pool, is wonderful. Dino, the host, was gracious and helpful while also being unobtrusive Definitely recommend a stay at The Westward Look Guest House.
We stayed over a week at this home..
and really enjoyed
- the home itself. Easy to hang out , the back yard is amazing with a variety of birds and wildlife
Kitchen is very well appointed , bed was comfortable
- we are hikers and there are lots of interesting trails nearby
- the neighborhood - everything you need is proximal
-your host, Dino, is ready to make your stay work for you
An architectural landmark with wonderful indoor and outdoor spaces. Good supply of dishes and bar supplies made entertaining easy. Convenient to everything.
We just spent 3+ weeks relaxing weeks in Casas Adobes. The home is lovely - comfortable, well equipped, interesting, and nicely located. The kitchen is huge - lots of room to cook and hang out in. The views of the Catalina Mountains were a constant pleasure. Warm sunsets off to the west, an afternoon delight. Dino, the owner/host, is delightful. He is helpful, kind, fun and unobstrusive. He had great suggestions for restaurants and hikes. I highly recommend a visit to Casas Adobes!
Quiet, safe, clean excellent accommodations. Quiet yet close to everything you want to do

About the host
Hosted by Dino Sakellar
I am a Tucson native and second generation architect. My father designed and built the house in 1961 and this is were my siblings and I grew up. Now that my children are grown and moved out I live and have an architectural studio in the west half of the house with a separate entrance.
Why they chose this property
The home has historic significance to Tucson as a classic example of mid-century modern architecture and the family of architects that has designed many distinguished buildings in the Southwest. The neighborhood has changed little over the last 55 years maintaining its natural Sonoran Desert vegetation and beautiful Westward Look Resort grounds.
What makes this property unique
The home was orientated to take full advantage of the view up Pima Canyon in the Catalina Mountains. The open floor plan and abundant sliding glass doors give the home a light and relaxing atmosphere. The screened porch and covered patios extend living spaces out doors.
