Need a quiet getaway? This home is on a bridge-less island! No crowds, cars, or cares. Bunkini sits at the edge of the dune, surrounded by swaying coconut palms for a tropical ambiance. The beach is literally just outside the front door. Bunkini does NOT include a dock slip. A water taxi is available to bring you to paradise.

Enjoy a studio style guest house with a full size kitchen and eat-in dining area, sitting room/bedroom combo, and full size bathroom offering accommodations for two.

The Space:
Please note that Little Gasparilla Island is a barrier island accessible only by boat; we provide water taxi information when you book. You cannot drive your vehicle to the island; you park at the marina on the mainland where you catch the water taxi. There are no stores, bars or restaurants on Little Gasparilla which means it has retained much of its "old Florida" ambiance and pristine beauty. For years Little Gasparilla was visited only by locals who would come on weekends to fish, go to the beach and enjoy the privacy, peace and quiet. Now, even though it has been discovered, the lack of commercial establishments means that the island appeals to those who want to get away from crowds, tourists, traffic and technology.

Please note that this home is only accessible by water taxi (no dock slip included). You must take the water taxi to the island. LGI is residential and does not have any grocery stores or restaurants. There are grocery and pizza delivery services though! We have an on island guest services manager available in case you need anything during your stay. he kitchen is stocked with everything you need to prepare meals during your stay. All dishes, cooking utensils, pots, and pans. The sitting room/bedroom combo contains a queen size bed, love seat, and an additional chair for relaxing at night or reading a book during a summer rain shower.

The main home (Nutmeg Cottage) is rented separately. There is a shared laundry/storage area off of the deck.

This charming spot is located centrally on the island. A brief walk from the dock and you arrive at this quaint cottage, and a few steps more you have the waves lapping at your feet. Bunkini sits at the edge of the dune overlooking the Gulf of Mexico and Little Gasparilla's beautiful private beach.

Damage Protection - The $59 charge listed as a "management fee" on your quote covers your purchase of $2500 of “all risk” damage protection coverage on your rental property. This protection is purchased in lieu of a cash damage deposit. Coverage details are spelled out in your contract.

The Neighborhood:
Little Gasparilla Island is approximately 7 miles long and 3 miles across at its widest point. The sandy white beaches provide a picturesque landscape for strolling the beach and finding shell souvenirs to take home to your family and friends. Sunsets in the evening give you the perfect backdrop for those vacation picture memories.

Getting Around:
Pirate's Water Taxi is available to bring you to the island. The water taxi runs by appointment only and it is $15 per person (each way) during regular daytime hours. The captain will run after hours -- if previously scheduled -- at an increased rate. This service runs out of Eldred's Marina where parking is available for $8/night. The island concierge will meet you upon arrival with a golf cart to assist with transporting your luggage and groceries to the home.

Other Things to Note:
Holiday fees are applied for Christmas, New Years, Labor Day, Memorial Day, and July 4th. Please note that length of stay minimums may be increased for holiday timeframes as well.

Please evaluate your expectations before booking a stay on Little Gasparilla Island. If you are expecting a polished "resort" atmosphere, Little Gasparilla is decidedly more rustic. During periods of heavy rain or tropical storms, there may be standing water on the roadways, at the dock and around the house. This is a tropical environment with mosquitos, rust, power outages and other minor inconveniences. If you are expecting resort amenities and services, the island might not be for you.
