Very nice spacious home. The property was well maintained and a lot of fun extras for the family. View was amazing. Overall would definitely stay again.
We had an amazing stay. The property offers a beautiful scenery of the lake. Many activities were less than an hour away. My favorite part was watching my children have fun kayaking and making a fire. It was so relaxing
The house is just as pictures suggest. Very clean ! We rented the boat with this property however were disappointed we could not use it due to rain, however many of the seats in the boat are without foam cushion. I'm not sure we would have been able to seat more than three. The rooms are well appointed although the master television faces a window not the bed. Simple room arrangement would make it usable. The kitchen was also well appointed. Beds were comfy. The area does not have much to offer in the way of stores so be sure to bring your groceries. Despite the foul weather we had a great time. Thank you Patti for having us.
Enjoyed some much needed r & r.
The fishing was excellent.
Owner was superb. She thought of everything.
Close to hiking, or spend a day on the lake.
Thanks Patti
The property was well represented on the listing, except for the fact that it has GREAT parking for a snowmobiling stay which was not mentioned directly. There is plenty of room to park 4-5 trucks/snowmobile trailers. The access to the main corridor trail was quick and well-groomed. Could not have been a better location for our trip.
We stayed here over winter break, and most things in the surrounding area were closed due to Covid, but it truly did not matter! The hospitality of this owner was spectacular! We skated on the lake, from sunrise until well after sunset! The fire pit and sauna were perfect! The bedding was so comfortable, and all of the extra touches that the owner did were so appreciated and made the stay so special! Would would definitely stay again, and would love to try this summer this time!
We’ve stayed in many UP cabins over the years during our annual summer trip. And this cabin was a haven. Truly, we were spoiled!! With only 3 of us, we had so much space. A group of 12 could easily stay. The single bathroom would be the biggest problem for large groups but the outhouse is available for a second bathroom. The beds were extremely comfortable…we’ve never had a king in a cabin before! The living space is open with windows in every direction. The kitchen was well stocked. The furniture is well used but we didn’t spend much time indoors. Why would we when the backyard has everything you need?? My daughter discovered a love for saunas. We ate all our meals in the gazebo. We took the kayaks out on the lake. We enjoyed late nights around the campfire. It was…an amazing week. We wanted something closer to the western side this summer…and had 90 minute drives to both the Porkies (gorgeous) and Menominee whitewater river rafting (Wildman Ranch was awesome!). Don’t hesitate, book this place for your next trip.
We booked this house to celebrate my son’s graduation from NMU and my birthday. With no previous reviews to rely on we booked with fingers crossed based on the location, photos and the prompt and informative communication we received. Wow! We could not have been happier with our choice. Our host went out of her way to make sure our stay was extra special. I can’t say “Thank you” enough. The house was spotless and included everything we needed. The location is terrific - right on the water with nearby access to great hiking . We all had a great time and will return. P.S. The use of the sauna was a great way to end the day.
Our group of 9 (3 families) had plenty of space and things to do here. The lake was calm for group kayaking, there was enough seating around the fire for everyone, and the best part was the sauna! Patti was very accommodating with our check-out when we needed more time due to car trouble. If you are looking for the perfect place to relax and unwind in-between your U.P. excursions, this might be your place.

This place is perfect! We chose this place due to it's great location. It has it all, it's on a great clean lake, huge fire pit with ample seating, deck area with grill and eating area as well as screened in gazebo with extra seating. Inside there is plenty of room, we had a group of 12 and we were all able sleep comfortably with no issues. The place was super clean and so cute! The family loved all the little signs and things that make it feel home like and so comfy! The host seems to have literally thought of everything, kids even found a simple table top snow cone maker! What a sweet surprise! Every time we needed something we might have forgot to bring, all we had to do was look and there it was! When we did need to contact the host they were always available and was willing do whatever possible to make our stay the best it could be.
This property is a great spot with everything you need for water sports. Beautiful day and night Skyview. Just note that when the power goes out you have no running water and no stove.
The property was pretty much as described. The host, Patti, is direct, honest, and helpful. The plusses include the number of different spaces where we could enjoy this property. The dock, the deck overlooking the lake, the fire-pit area, the gazebo (where we dined each evening), and the covered deck with grill and table right outside the kitchen. The house was a little snug for the nine of us, but extremely comfortable and very well appointed. All views are gorgeous, and the pines all around give a real Northwoods feel.
Water play was fun in Ruth Lake, and the kayaks were a total pleasure for all ages. I would have liked a canoe or rowboat as well for taking my grandkids fishing, but we rented the pontoon boat for a few days to give us more flexibility.
We truly enjoyed our week. We explored a lot of the local area and felt fully at home on our return to this property.
The lake house was great for the 8 of us that stayed. The on-line pictures were representative of the property. Patti was a great host and very responsive if we had any questions or concerns. The driveway was plowed and ready for our 3 trailers when we arrived on the first day, even a little early when we called and asked, thankyou Patti. Close to trail 8 for snowmobiling, and we would stay here again.
Property was a great location for the snowmobile trail. Property was very clean and accommodating for 5 people. Lots of parking for trailers. Property owner had great information in their book about the property and snowmobile trail info. Property owner always had good contact. Was a great addition to have all of our food purchased and ready at the cabin.
Highly recommend this property !
This property worked out great for 7 adults for a snowmobile trip. The cabin is very nice, clean and had everything that we needed. Lot is large for trucks and trailers and trails are down the road. Perfect all the way across the board. Would highly recommend.
We stayed at Patti's place for a ski trip. It was fairly centrally located to all the places we wanted to go (Marquette Mtn, Ski Brule, Mt. Bohemia and Big Snow). The house is very spacious, clean and comfortable! Kitchen is big, living room is big with ample seating and everyone loved their beds. We had two families with a total of 8 people. There is only one bathroom, but we easily made due with quick showers and split between morning and night. Patti was super easy to communicate with and we would definitely stay again!
Very accommodating host, house was completely stocked with anything one may have forgotten, like contact solution, which I did. We had some issues with the pontoon boat but the owner was very responsive and had a caretaker over to look at it, I kid you not, within 15 minutes.
We had a blast amd everything was just as described. It was more spacious than expected and had many things on hand in case you forget to bring things like toiletries, activities and condiments. Perfect for people with kids as the lot is fenced in. We had a great time and considered coming back until I received a message from the PM 2 days after we left stating we had disrespected her home. We left the house almost as found and did laundry, but she stated we had too much garbage (which was all taken out to the garbage storage area) and that we left black stuff all over the house, which is just not true.
Patti was great, very responsive from time of booking to check out . We had a group of 11 of which 9 were girls. Ruth Lake was perfect with a sandy bottom that you could walk out 100 yards. It was also a great location for our day trips planned to Munising. Marquette, Lake of the Clouds, Copper Harbor and Houghton. This kitchen was stocked with all the extras. And the fire wood was plentiful. We’re already planning for next year.
We wanted a place to celebrate my sisters 60th birthday with family. It was perfect for our family. Lots to do… board games in the gazebo, roasting marshmallows by the campfire, kayaking and swimming and close enough to do a few hiking day trips. Fully stocked kitchen made meal planning easier too! Would definitely recommend for a relaxing, peaceful vacation!

Why they chose this property
We immediately fell in love with this property because of all the space outside and places to gather. So much room for activities. ;) Whether you want to fish, swim, snowmobile or ATV. Lots to do. We love the area and have been coming to the Upper Peninsula for just over a decade now.
