About this property

Amazing Sunsets and Lake Quality

Lake home remodeled in 2021, with a 4th large bedroom with a King size bed added in 2026.

Expect a very furnished kitchen with every utensil possible and quality appliances. Large dock with solar boat lift.

Incredible lake views and sunsets with 5 sleeping areas (4 private bedrooms plus a King sofa bed in the lower level game room). About 2,250 finished SF.

There is enough parking (2 concrete driveways for up to 9 cars) and also room for an RV complete with a 30AMP exterior outlet. Boating dock fits up to 2 or 3 regular 20' boats. 1 solar boat lift for up to a 20ft boat without upper racks. Very private lot with 200 feet of lake shore.

IMPORTANT SEASONAL INFORMATION

The dock, boat lift, kayaks, and Lily Pad are seasonal amenities, available from mid-June to September 30.
Due to Minnesota's seasonal weather conditions and the possibility of freezing temperatures, these amenities are removed from the lake in the fall.
Guests booking stays after September 30 should not expect the dock, boat lift, kayaks, or Lily Pad to be available during their stay.

In winter, the stairs down to the lake are not cleared of snow or ice. Please stay off them.

Ashleys's party left the home super clean and tidy, they were the perfect guests. As owners we believe when you really love your VRBO, you don't want to leave it because lacks nothing and its better than your own house.

About the host

Hosted by Francisco J Almarza

Host profile image
Meet Jan, my wife of 40 years and me, Francisco Almarza. I was born in Santiago, Chile and Jan in Albert Lea, Minnesota who as a world traveller met me (1981) and married me (1983) in Chile and lived there for 5 years after which time we moved to the States (1985). We now have 4 amazing adult children and 4 incredible grandkids. . I am a former Architect and lately a translation editor and Jan a former Spanish/French teacher currently an interpreter trainer. We love making friends in any language as well as boating and relaxing at any lake.

Sunset-on-Ida is our second VRBO property; we purchased our first property in 2009 in Viña del Mar, Chile. Please visit https://www.vrbo.com/252816 where we have also received only 5 star reviews. We hope you love Sunset-on-Ida and will return as many times as possible.

Why they chose this property

We were looking for an investment lake property for several years. A hard thing to find on our favorite Lake Ida. Very private 200 feet of shoreline where you cannot see your neighbors.
The view to the lake with its magnificent sunsets in all seasons whether from the deck, the dock or the home on top the hill never ceases to take our breath away!

What makes this property unique

Great location and lake views. Remodeled in 2021, with a 4th bedroom added in 2026. Super equipped. 200 feet of private shoreline. You should be aware the lot is on a hill but has been masterfully terraced down towards the lake with comfortable sun-bathing areas. If you are looking for a flat lot and sandy beach, this is not the place for you. Look at the pictures and notice the stairs you'll have to climb to get back and forth from the lake / shoreline to the house. Very good access to the many nearby area attractions on a well-travelled county road which might create some extra road noise on the front side of the property but not at all bothersome.
