Fisherman and Hunter’s paradise! Newly remodeled! Hidden waterfront gem that is a relaxing sanctuary away from all the hubbub. Close to bear and duck hunting and the best fishing in the world. Perfect for the sportsman and his lady. Designer decorated to embody the true outer banks lifestyle. Owners are true locals, that hail from a long line of Outer Bankers and it can be felt throughout the property. Enjoy the sunrise over the Croatan Sound, fishing on the dock, kayaking, bear watching all near by. Only a 15 minute drive to the beach and Jennette's Pier in Nags Head. Short 10 minute drive to the NC aquarium, Lost Colony and Fort Raleigh and downtown Manteo, as well as, the Alligator River National Wildlife refuge. All the comforts of home with a fully stocked kitchen, quality linens and smart TV's in the Living room and master bedroom. Relax by the fireplace in the living room while watching the ducks land in the sound. The back porch is an oasis with relaxing seating and outdoor dinning under the shade of the live oak trees. With a state boat ramp less that a mile, it makes it very convenient to bring your boat and dock behind the house for a fisherman's paradise. The house is a refuge of sorts bringing comfort and peace. Personal grocery shopping provided upon request for an extra fee.

Always Sonny was such a amazing home for our family vacation ❤️ Location, cleanliness, comfort and scenery...this place has it all. We will definitely be back! This was our 1st visit to Outer Banks and we really enjoyed ourselves! May even look for our own VRBO ;)

Our stay at “Always Sonny” was a wonderful experience! The home was clean and beautiful and stocked with basic necessities. The view off the back deck was amazing. Communication with the host was easy and the instruction's prior to arrival and upon departure were complete and clear. Highly recommended!

Great stay for a New Year

All the cozy feelings as soon as we walked in! This home was welcoming and more beautiful in person. The view is peaceful. We enjoyed breakfast on the new deck. There is plenty of seating for everyone. The kitchen had everything we needed, plus some. No detail was left out when thinking of guests. The bedrooms are beautifully decorated and the beds are comfortable. The weather was not on our side while we were there but the den with the water view and fireplace made up for it. It was a joy to ring the New Year in at your home Sarah. Thank you and thank you for sharing Sonny’s story.

Better than the pictures!

This property is beautiful and peaceful. Many hours spent in the living room reading and enjoying the views of the sound. The kitchen is well-stocked with everything needed to cook a family meal. The beds are very comfortable and the shower in the master bath is big and gorgeous. We definitely plan to come back in the future.

Beautiful spacious home on the Croatian sound. Great outdoor space, perfect for fishing. This home is very cozy and comfortable. Had so many extra things that you might need and just forgot. Amazing for family vacation with all ages!

We really enjoyed our stay at Always Sonny! The house is beautifully decorated and had all the necessities and more. The view from the living room and dock were amazing, and are probably the best part of the home. The layout and was very open, but all the bedrooms offered plenty of privacy which was nice. Both bathrooms were very large and the hall bath had access from one of the additional bedrooms which is nice if you have more than one couple staying. This home was also great if you have would like to avoid stairs typical of most rentals in the area and also want to have bedrooms on the same level. We had three generations on our trip and everyone really enjoyed this house! Beds and furniture were all very comfy which was also a big plus. It was close to plenty of shopping, restaurants, and short drive to the beach. We took trips to the nearby aquarium and lighthouses which were a reasonable drive from the house. We would definitely recommend this home to anyone, and would stay here for future trips as well!

This gem of a property is all that is promised in the description and more!!

My husband and I stayed for a month and were joined during the last week by our adult children and grandson. None of us wanted to leave at the end of our stays. The view of the sound was breathtaking from the moment we opened the front door on arrival and every day after which is one of the many reasons it was difficult to leave. The entire outside of the property is - as advertised - a sanctuary. The fisherpeople in the family enjoyed a number of relaxing afternoons casting out from the dock (though the osprey were more successful than they were at catching fish). The house is well-appointed and very comfortable. The local and themed art in every room added to the pleasantry. A good book, the gas fireplace in the sun room and the beautiful views inside and out made even stormy days relaxing and enjoyable. We had all the cookware we needed for the month (including excellent knives!) and there was more than enough dinnerware and glasses. We were fortunate that last week to have a night when the wind was low and blowing in the right direction which meant we could have a s'mores making fire in the firepit...that evening looking through the fire out to the sound was priceless. sara is an excellent host and provided lots of helpful information about the best places to eat, kayak and hike in the area! If you are looking for a beach vacation, it is a quick drive to the Nags Head beaches. We would come here for that season as well. However, we were looking for an off-season experience and the many, many nature trails in the Alligator River, Roanake Island and Nags Head Woods Refuges provided us with lots of opportunities for manageable hikes. If you are a geocacher, this is also a great location for many fun finds in beautiful settings. Can you tell we liked "Always Sonny"?!! I could say more but frankly I don't want too many people to discover this gem and make it difficult for us to rent again ;-)
