We had a wonderful time at Bear Paw. The location/neighborhood was full of great amenities and able to enjoy most even in the winter. Cabin was fully equipped with EVERYTHING our family of 6 (and puppy) needed. Thank you for sharing with us!
The view is breathtaking! The hosts are wonderful. We rented a pontoon from a local marina, which we highly recommend, and enjoyed the peace and local beauty. We loved our stay!
This property was amazing! The whole process was flawless-check in/out, the view, the soaking tub, the fire pit, all of the kitchen utensils-it was the perfect fall getaway! Hopefully we will be back!!
everything you need for glamping on the lake ,private well maintained cabin with a feel of home . more than a cabin more like a small resort with all the amenities you need for a great vacation. Thank you to the owners who were more than accommodating
We love Bear Paw! We load up the boat and visit at least twice per year. The cottage was perfect for our stay. Very relaxing outdoor space and perfect for an unplugged getaway.
The house is amazing. The owners have put a lot of thought into what makes a stay comfy! Great place to go to unwind and find peace. So much to do for our 6 year old. The sand pit was her favorite. We will definitely be back!
Nathan was a very great host. Communication was always on point and he was very accommodating. The cabin was very cozy and had everything we needed and then some. Would love to stay again.
We really enjoyed our time and Erin and Nathan's cabin. The weather was not cooperative, but being so close to the dock, we could simply go out on our boards during the windows it cleared up. Cabin is well-stocked and communication was excellent. The wifi was more than adequate for us.
Hidden Cove Cabin was wonderful, the lake was beautiful.
The most well stocked we’ve stayed in, so cozy and comfortable. Comfortable beds and furniture. The hosts were easy to communicate with and very gracious and generous. The cove was private and the lake was beautiful. Perfect for kayaking, swimming, pontooning and fishing. Hope to be back soon!
We had a lovely stay here. We had our college kids join us and we were able to bring our dogs.
Erin and Nathan were excellent hosts and very responsive.
They have a great cabin with lots of amenities.
Will definitely return.
Grocery stores are not close, so, come prepared with essentials.
Thank you!
I wanted to have a memorable Christmas and it was everything I wanted and more. My husband got to see snow the kids enjoyed the lake and it’s beautiful surroundings. The cabin had so many activities from giant connect four to chess to watching movies. We really felt like home. Thank you so much for an unforgettable family adventure.
We have been traveling to Lake Hiwassee in Bear Paw for 7 years now and this is by far our favorite place to stay! The home has everything you could ever need. The owners are just a text away and will help with anything! The Master Suite is enormous. They have 2 other bedrooms with plenty of room and a 2nd bathroom. The kitchen has plenty of space as well. The walk to the water is not steep which is a plus! They have a swim mat down at the pier and the house has a very spacious deck to enjoy the outside. We love staying here for our vacation each summer and hope to continue to for more years to come!
This remote beautiful spot is a great place to relax. The photos can’t do this place justice. The location makes you want to spend time being silent and hearing the birds and the wind in the trees. Everything you need is stocked - just bring groceries. Kayaking the lake was so much fun. If you need more adventure you can run rivers and zip lines in the area. Easy checkin and great hosts. If you fear mountain roads and want wild loud parties go to a different lake. This spot was exactly as advertised. Thank you for sharing!
Nathan and Erin's home had everything we needed for our stay. Well stocked kitchen, comfy beds, lots of towels and extra supplies. Loved the solo fire pit with stocked firewood. A few issues we encountered were - ZERO cell phone service in the whole area so you need to put location in GPS before you get out of Murphy. Our family couldn't communicate with one another because we had no service. Bring all your groceries, closest store 30 minutes away. For a real getaway this is the place, The lake was beautiful, relaxing, and quiet.
We checked in on Saturday and could not have had a better experience! We loved every minute of our 4 night stay! Out of all the homes in all the places we have booked, this has been the BEST! They have everything you could ever want or need while on Vacation! Bear Paw is isolated so for them to be so thoughtful makes a Vacation so much better! They even have bottles of water on each nightstand for guest when you check in. The kitchen has everything you need. They only have a blackstone flat top grill, but we knew that up front and took a small charcoal grill with us. The firepit on the porch is a wonderful addition. The walk down to the pier is so easy compared to other places we have stayed. You will not regret booking with Nathan and Erin at their cabin!!
We were looking for nice quiet place just to relax. Have some time to ourself. Eat, cook, fish, walk and enjoy nature. Disconnect from every day busy life.
We found all this and much more at the cabin. Well stocked, beautiful, warm and charming place. Host was absolutely amazing. We found that house met our needs and we might start new family tradition spending week at BearPaw once a year.
Our puppies enjoyed spacious deck and love the falling leaves on their daily walk ( we don’t get to see beautiful leaves in Florida).
Overall amazing trip, outstanding service and hospitality, easy check in and check out - yes yes and yes for great vacation off the grid.
Thank you Erin and Nathan!!!
Everything went mostly great. I love the property, it's location, and the arrangements. The owners were extremely nice and communicative. ...... However... it's not as hidden as the property description suggests. There are several other houses looking down into the same cove - with their own docks. The property manager did not have the dock tied off well, so the walk board had to be repositioned a few times since the dock drifted around a bit - not that big of a deal though. There was no hot water the first two days. Cold showers. Then hot water started working the last day and a half.
Our stay was perfect! The guest home was well maintained, organized and clean. We only needed to bring our groceries from the local market as everything we needed for a nice stay on the lake was available. We did not have a chance to visit the dock or lower deck as the view of the lake from inside the den and kitchen was exactly what we expected. This was our first stay in a Vrbo home and we were impressed with our hosts, the property, the view and the quiet neighborhood inside a gated community on Lake Hiwassee. The marina is only about seven minutes away where we could rent a pontoon for the afternoon to enjoy the lake where my bride of thirty years vacationed with her parents when she was younger. The nearest town is only about thirty minutes away by automobile, but the drive is a beautiful one with well-maintained and well-marked roads. We wanted a nice location where we could relax from the city and spend quiet time together and this choice was actually more than we had hoped. Thanks.
This is our 2nd time at the lake house. Makes for a great spring break getaway. House is amazing. The beds are super comfortable. Plenty of things to do.
