Great location! Cabin was beautiful beyond pictures depicted. Very spacey and more than what was expected. Saw bears daily! Family trip with kids and grandparents everyone enjoyed the stay.
We had a great time. As the one who booked the place, I received several pats on the back for picking this cabin. We loved the location too- it’s about 20 minutes from downtown, so we didn’t have to deal with the constant traffic, but it’s close enough to easily get to all the famous spots. We all much preferred the secluded, quiet Wears Valley neighborhood to the busy downtown Pigeon Forge. And we saw bears several times. Highly recommended.
We really enjoyed our stay. There was plenty of room for our group of 12 and the physical property was just as described in the listing. The owners were great at communicating with us and I would certainly recommend this property with no reservations.
We took a trip to the Smokey Mountains for my daughter's last Girl Scout trip as a full troop. Two of the girls graduated high school, so they wanted to spend this last time together. The location and house was PERFECT. The moms get to hang out upstairs and the girls spent time together downstairs. Great sleeping arrangements, sleeping accommodations, kitchen, everything was wonderful. They loved having access to the pool and the view/ neighborhood was beautiful. Highly recommend (especially for larger groups!)
Everything was great even seen a bear and other wildlife behind the cabin!! Only downfall was three of the days we had issues getting in and out to cabin and main road due to a company trimming trees that totally sucked.
The house was spacious with plenty of beds. The 2 kitchen areas and sitting areas helped with our large group. Off the beaten path a little but we kind of liked that because the area was so crowded the weekend we were there. Could use a little updating but would stay here again.
Weeks Worth is amazing! The pictures don't do it justice! Large bedrooms, large common spaces, and great view. This was also the cleanest and most well stocked rental I've ever had! Plenty of dishes, flatware, cooking utensils. We didn't have to wash dishes after every meal. My only complaint is that I didn't see any bears. Guess I'll have to take the advice of the friendly ladies in the office and come back during the summer!
Very nice cabin! Very spacious! Said in the ad that it could sleep up to 14 which is very accurate, of course if you're bed sharing, but we all fit just fine. Hot tub was nice. Only wish that the pool was open later than 6pm, especially during the summer. When you have kids they want to swim any time of the day. And after 6 is usually a good time when the sun isn't as bad so your kids aren't getting burnt. Over all it's a very nice place to stay! We'll definitely stay here again... will just look for one with its own pool though!
The inside looked like the photo, however outside needed some tlc (paint job, decks sanded and stained, the steps going to wooded area was unsturdy, fence along edge of property unsturdy and was not useful lying on the ground.
Had 3 bathrooms, however coins not handle more than one person getting shower at same time (low water pressure and cool baths)
Would of been nice for them to pick up garages in middle of week considering bears in area. Should not have to do it ourselves.
Would of been nice for someone to clean grill and have prepared for us to use. Also would of been nice to have blower behind to blow off the decks of debris.
We brought a family of 12 to the Weeks Worth cabin advertised with a max capacity of 14. Overall, we were satisfied with the cabin. The following are our key takeaways for future renters:
- The bed arrangements were acceptable for 12 adults. The advertised 14 would only work if the have 2-3 children.
- The location in Wears Valley was actually a very good launching point for each day’s activities. You only had to deal the main drag on Parkway when you wanted to.
- Not everyone would enjoy it as much as us, but our family really enjoyed the daily visits from one or more black bears.
-The cabin needed some attention with the exterior rail fence and stairs which were verging on unsafe. We reported this and a few other overlooked maintenance items (clogged gutters) to the Volunteer Cabin Rental office. They seemed appreciative of our feedback, so hopefully these things will get fixed soon. The only issue that might impact a weekly rental is the fence and stairs. Everything else just needs to be fixed to avoid damaging the cabin.
- The kitchen was surprisingly well stocked with plates, utensils and cookware.
-The cabin has a gas grill, but it was in serious need of new burners. I reported this too. Basically you are limited to hamburgers and hotdogs in its current state.
Overall we were pretty happy with this first Pigeon Forge family vacation, so its very likely we will do it again.
This cabin was perfect for our family!!! Half of our kids had never been to Gatlinburg, and the same momma bear with 5 cubs visited us both days!! The place was beautiful and very accommodating. We will definitely look for this cabin or one in this vicinity next trip!!!
The cabin is just as descibed on your website. Its very spacious and accommodatedour 11 person family adequately! We did have a bear visit our upper deck one night and bust into a bag of garbage my father mistakingly put outside but other than that the stay was peaceful!
The only recommendations i have are as follows
1. upgrade the mattress as they are a little springy
2. Televisons are all quite dated
3. More basic things you would need such as toilet paper/garbage bags would be greatly appreciated.
Other than that our stay was wonderful and we look forward to coming back at least yearly! Merry Christmas and thank you for the cabin!
We enjoyed our stay at Weeks Worth once we got past the water problems. A faulty breaker caused us to be w/o water for most of our first 24 hours. The maintenance staff was responsive and ultimately fixed the problem.
With two masters on the main floor and the lower level essentially a separate two-bedroom apartment with its own kitchen and bath it’s great for large families. We love staying in the Townsend area away from the traffic and congestion so this was a great spot.
The cabin could use a few updates - the microwave is small and old, dishwasher is functional but loud, and there is only a coffee pot. Most properties now have a keurig or pod coffee maker so be prepared to bring your own.
This was our first family getaway. The cabin was perfect for the comfort of all of us.
From start to finish it was perfect. Everyone was very pleasant and helpful. I highly recommend your company. I have already told co-workers and friends. I hope to rent another cabin soon.
