This house along with most around it were built by our great great grandfather in the 1700 and 1800’s. We (3 siblings) inherited it from our grandmother who grew up on the point. The house and the private point it inhabits is rich with its own history and a little slice of heaven where you can be as in touch or out of touch with the outside world as you want. Life has its own slower pace here and the peacefulness of times gone by rejuvenates the soul, at least for us. That is not to say there isn’t plenty to do with water activities, tennis, clamming, exploring. Mornings enjoying a cup of coffee on the porch while taking in the view of the water, evenings often move us to the back yard area where we can gather and visit around a fire after a good meal. For us this place is family, careless summers where the love of sailing, tennis and rainy days playing board games on the porch or reading a book was ingrained in our souls as kids and many of our guests say they can feel the history as well. Gwyn, Richard and Shaun each rediscovered this joy while spending time there last summer after the year round tenants moved on and decided to follow the original plan, use it for the month of June and support the house by renting it out for others to enjoy the rest of the year. We hope people will enjoy their time here and want to come back yearly as regulars.
