About this property

Beautiful One Bedroom AC Beach Cottage

Our one bedroom beach cottage is located on a quiet one lane road leading to the ocean. While in a quiet location it is still just a few minutes drive from downtown Hilo, supermarkets, restaurants, airport, medical centers, and scenic parks and beaches.
There is a small beach cove located a few steps away. Guests can enjoy sunbathing, picnicking, and swimming during high tide. Just outside the cove is the open ocean where guests enjoy exploring tide pools or just ocean gazing at sea turtles feeding along the coast or dolphins playing out in the ocean.
Several of the areas at our home that our guests find they enjoyed the most were having early morning breakfast upstairs on the outdoor balcony and grilling and dining in the evenings in the large outdoor gazebo while listening to the ocean.
While there are ceiling fans throughout for guests who prefer enjoying just the islands breezes we recently decided to install a split level AC unit for guests who need the comfort of cooler indoor temperatures, especially during to our high summer day temperatures and humidity.
Our beach home works well for couples or couples with one or two little ones. There is a queen size bed in the bedroom and a queen size futon sofa sleeper in the front living room. There is also a full kitchen, full tub and shower bath, pack and play and 4 panel child play yard for little ones.

Note: Our one bedroom cottage is joined to a two bedroom fully furnished downstairs unit which accommodates larger families. We have recently separated the listing for easy bookings for couples who need just a one bedroom unit. We do not book the downstairs unit when we have guests in the upstairs unit to ensure privacy for our upstairs guests. To view reviews of our beach home you may visit VRBO listing #987886.

The one bedroom unit upstairs was more than pleasant and comfortable. Everything on the property was nicely done and maintained. The outdoor covered patio was a great space to hang out. The location was excellent as it was a short walk to a great beach spot. It exceeded my expectations, I would love to do it again!

Absolutely fantastic stay

We love this area Hilo and this cottage was absolutely perfect. A three minute stroll to the little beach and tidal pools. The cottage had everything we needed and a lovely balcony for meals. The barbecue area under the gazebo was really great. We cooked meals and ate down there and really enjoyed the yard. Claudia the host was great!!! She and the cottage made our vacation so stress free. We hope to return soon. And will recommend to friends.

Tranquil Beach Cottage

Clean, beautifully decorated and full of amenities. Close to town and beaches. We stayed in the upstairs one bedroom unit and we couldn’t be happier. The property was lush and tranquil. Unfortunately we did not have the best weather for the first couple of days during our visit but the large covered lanais (upstairs and the huge gazebo in the yard) allowed us to still be outside and enjoy the property. When hope to return to this lovely property.

Great Location; Charming

The upstairs 1 bedroom was charming and cozy. Well equipped kitchen, extra bath towels, coolers.....everything we needed for our stay. We visited many places, both north and south from here - easy drives. We even went to the east coast for snorkeling with the manta rays. Long but easy, scenic drive. The beach area just down the street from the house is lovely. Very quiet except for the birds and frogs. Makes you feel like you're in a jungle!! We did notice the earplugs when we were leaving but we didn't need them. Owners were quick to respond both before check-in and after. Friendly too.

A little taste of paradise

Charming, well equipped and situated in a splendid little cul-de-sac with a two minute walk to the shore of Hilo bay. The side porch setting is perfect for an afternoon of reading. We will return!

A sweet spot in Hilo

We spent a few days here. The place is in a tropical garden near the sea. We were upstairs with a large lanai overlooking the garden. We sat outside much of the time. The kitchen is well equipped and the bed comfortable. There is good AC to keep cool. All in all we hate to leave.

Perfect base to explore the Hilo area

Excellent place with the facilities you might want! The lanai(s) were amazing for eating and relaxing. Very comfy bed, good ventilation that kept the house cool even without aircon on. Very loud noises all night long from the frogs, so be warned! We don't mind the noise as it became a sort of white noise..but some people might hate it. The nearby beach is definitely not for swimming, but more for exploring the pools and watch the wave crashing.

My husband and I really enjoyed our time here. We would sit outside at night listening to the different sounds. One night we even got to see the frogs have a feast. Beautiful, Amazing place to stay.
