Charming beach cottage with commanding ocean view of the best beach on the east side of Hawaii! Waiuli (Richardsons Beach) is the best for swimming, surfing, and snorkeling. What's the best thing about it? It's right across the street! Grab a mask and snorkel (there's plenty of fun beach gear at the house to use!) and go explore the cove! Wish to just relax and lay in the shade? There's a great area behind the house to hang out or bbq while watching the ocean. Perfect for families, groups or a nice couple get-away!

A great location - across the road from Richardson Beach Park. Loved watching the waves and surfers from the front porch. Our grandson and his fiancé were very happy with the lower level area. Really enjoyed our stay in this house in Hilo.

We loved the location of this property, its spaciousness, the screened-in front porch area from which we could enjoy the view, the lushness and the vibe of the area. You will hear some traffic noise and music in the evenings from people enjoying small gatherings at the end of each day, which I thought added to the coolness of the place. This area is where locals like to hang out because they know how ideal this part of Hilo is. Despite that, it never felt crowded here. The owner was fantastic and easy to reach. Would love to stay here again.

The hosts were very responsive to questions before and during our stay, making this a stress-free experience. The kitchen is spacious and well equipped. Beds were comfortable and having separate floors allowed maximum privacy. Everything was spotlessly clean.The location is outstanding! Richardson Beach is a wonderful snorkeling and swimming place with a lifeguard and beach showers. We saw whales every day - most often breaching just before sunset. The hosts provide a great assortment of beach and snorkel gear.We spent four nights exploring from Waipio to Volcano National Park and this was a perfect home base.

Great setup on a wonderful property. We had an amazing time. The road in front can get pretty noisy during the day, but at night was fine. The views were beautiful and the house was very well equipped. You should be aware that the downstairs is only accessible from outside. It wasn't an issue but something to be aware of. We loved the proximity to everything. I would absolutely stay here again.

We had a wonderful time at the Waiuli Beach Cottage. We loved the gorgeous beach views, being steps away from the ocean, the spaciousness of the beach hale, along with how comfortable it is. The beach cottage was absolutely perfect! The kitchen had everything we could possibly need and even some extras we didn’t expect. There was plenty of beach gear to use, and it’s just steps across the street from the beach park. The lanai was the perfect spot to relax, sip coffee, and take in the view. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay!

Adorable Beach Cottage in the perfect location! We fell in love with Hilo with all it's beauty and loved the black sand beach across the street. This cottage was stocked with tons beach gear and was very clean. We appreciated the washer and dryer and warm outdoor shower. Our stay was incredible!

Waiuli Cottage

We stayed 8 nights at this small home. It was cozy, convenient to the beach and a quick ride to downtown Hilo which is a charming town. The hosts are friendly and welcoming and made the stay all the more comfortable. I highly recommend Waikiki Cottage as a vacation destination.

wonderful vacation

When we opened the door we felt "at Home". Neat, well stocked and comfortable. The owner visited briefly which was so pleasant. Location in Hilo is perfect, sleep to the sound of the ocean and wake up to a glorious sunrise. So many wonderful places to eat and shop in Hilo. We stayed a week and enjoyed every day.

We have stayed here before and it was better than advertised. The host is amazing and did so many extra things for us. We saw many sea turtles, NeNe geese, Humpback whales breaching and much more. The each house is fully equipped with anything you might want.We will be back soon :-)

We had three generations in this little house and it worked out great. It was close to beach and snorkeling. It was close to Hilo for convenience, but far away enough for quiet. The host was helpful. I couldn't recommend it more.
