Great stay on the East end of St. Croix

The house was exactly as advertised in the listing. Very easy check-in process - and Millie (the property manager) was extremely helpful throughout (helped to arrange reservations, etc. - very thoughtful!). You can't beat the view from the pool deck - always a great view of the comings and goings on Buck Island and (on clear days) you can see the outlines of St. John and Norman Island in the BVI. Great stay - we will be back!

The house is in a great neighborhood and location. Very quiet neighborhood and great views of the water and Buck Island. Millie the property manager is wonderful and full of information. The pool was very refreshing on the hot afternoons and several beaches were close by. We will definitely be back.

Wonderful

This property is exactly as portrayed in pics provided. It is beautiful and very well maintained. This was our 3rd visit to St. Croix but first time staying at this location, but will not be the last! Also very impressed with availability of basic kitchen spices, paper goods, toiletries and linens. A nice convenience!

Fantastic home and setting. I'll be back!

I was really impressed with this rental. Gorgeous views of the Caribbean with a fully equipped and spacious home. Very comfortable beds and quiet as can be. Hillside setting offers complete privacy. We enjoyed lounging poolside and grilling; star watching at night; hiking in the neighborhood; etc. It's a short drive to several secluded beaches and many fine restaurants, both high end and beach bars. I can't wait to go back.

Paradise Found

We felt welcomed and at home from the moment we were met at the airport and guided back to to the house( much appreciated after a long flight and adjusting to left side driving!), Views from the secluded hill top location were magnificent, but still just a very short drive to many great beaches, hikes and attractions. The bedrooms and bathrooms were spacious and comfortable and the central living/dining/fully equipped kitchen area highlight the wonderful view and access to the deck and pool. Everything was extremely clean, well maintained and in great condition. We had a perfect vacation! thank you!!!

Thank you for taking the time to write a review! Since you were here in February, and it is now August, I believe that you have been thinking about the villa and your wonderful time there. It must have been a perfect vacation, and it is a perfect villa! The view and comfort just can't be surpassed. Please return. We would love to have you stay at Avalon again. I will be here to welcome you again to guide you to your island paradise after you long flight. Christie

Fabulous

My second stay on St. Croix and this place is really spectacular. Very private and quiet. We stayed during the President’s visit and so had to take the South Shore road every day but we had no problems whatsoever. The place is clean and well supplied. Sara was spectacular on every way. The driveway is quite steep but we managed with a Toyota Corolla (last available car on the island I think)! My only (very minor)critique: need better pillows on the beds. They are thin and not befitting of such a lovely place. I would definitely stay there again and would highly recommend it to anyone.

great location and breezy

Avalon is a quiet, clean, spacious and calming place. It is on the east end and close to Duggans and the Reef. The whole place made us feel at ease. Christie was very nice, easy to talk to and very friendly when she welcomed us. We would definitely come again!

Wow what an awesome experience!

This property's pictures do not do it justice. Lets start with the kitchen... amazing place to cook. Lots of spices, and all the items you need to make 3 meals a day. Grocery store is only about 10 minutes away. The bedrooms were immaculate, lots of closet space, and big beds with comfy pillows, plus the AC in the bedrooms made for a good night sleep on hot days. The bathrooms large and the shower amazing, not to mention the window in the shower allowed you to watch the Sea while you were washing your day away! Then lets go to the pool shall we... amazing, clean, cool in the morning, warm in the afternoon. Overall a really great experience. You will need to rent a jeep or small car, as this home is on the East end away from all the noise. Note- this is the drier end of the island, we had just 3 rain showers lasting a total of 30 minutes between the 3 of them. If you are looking for peace and quiet this home is for you. Oh and the WI-FI was excellent, so if needed we could stream movies, and check emails. Enjoy

Perfect House, Perfect View, Perfect Vacation!

Avalon was a perfect place to stay on St. Croix - ideal for 2 couples. 2 identical master bedrooms, a large common area with kitchen, dining room table, and family room - the common area flows right outside to the pool - if you like shade or sun, you are all set. The views are spectacular from sunrise to sunset. Very quiet and peaceful location. From booking through our last day, it was very easy - Christie is a wonderful property manager. A few of our favorites - sunrise at Point Udall, hiking Trumbull Trail to tide pools, bioluminescent bay kayak tour, Hams Bluff lighthouse hike (recommend a Jeep, it feels a bit like off-roading to get to trail head), and the absolute best was a private charter with Caribbean Sea Adventures - 5 hours on Wasted Time - included Buck Island snorkeling and beach time. Restaurant recommendations - Duggan’s Reef, The Galleon, Savant, and Ziggy’s for take out. Another great feature of the house is the propane grill, we cooked fresh fish and steaks which was a nice alternative to going out. Perfect Vacation!

Amazing house!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Avalon. The views were amazing, and there was an absolutely wonderful breeze the entire time we were there. The house is very comfortable and well thought out. We cooked in the kitchen most evenings and ate out in the patio. This house is perfect for two couples, with 2 master bedrooms. We had a wonderful vacation and look forward to staying here again.

Great time for family

This was a surprise trip for our kids for Christmas and the house was perfect. We had plenty of space and the view of Buck Island and the ocean was amazing! We had a great first trip in St. Croix. Christie was fantastic! She gave us plenty of information and ideas to enjoy the island for hiking, beaches, snorkeling, food and activities..

STUNNING VIEW ! Great for two couples !

The property was amazing with a stellar view. The kitchen and bathrooms were not as clean as I expect and it would have been a nice touch to have luxurious soaps, lotions , etc. The TV was not working the first two days but they came and installed a new one on day 3. The saltwater pool has a wonderful view but seemed to be not working properly during our visit. The pump must need some work. Please feel free to contact us for constructive feedback.

Thank you for your constructive comments. We were delighted to have you as guests, and appreciated your patience with the time it took to replace the TV. I have shared your feedback with the housekeeper and our assistant who opened the villa the day you arrived. This is the first time anyone has had a complaint. Because you gave it 4 stars, I am confident that you enjoyed the villa, and hope that you will return. We would love to have you return! Christie

Simply Extraordinary !

I can't say enough about how much I love Avalon. I'm a writer and I come to St. Croix often. It is the perfect place and Avalon is a bedrock of deep serenity and tranquility. I plan on returning to Avalon again, and again (provided it is available). I just came back from 9 days of heaven and still speechless . . .

Thank you for the wonderful review! The villa takes full advantage of the amazing view of the blue Caribbean, the changing sky, and Buck Island. Perhaps one of the reasons it felt so wonderful for you is that one of the owners is also a writer! You were a perfect guest, and we would love to have you return! Thank you, Christie

Under a Blanket of Stars

I'm still thinking about the view from this lovely home: by day, a panorama of unspoiled beauty; at night, a blanket of stars. Best of all, you get to enjoy it from an infinity pool on your own terrace! Comfort, amenities, attention to detail: this house has it all. Spacious, airy, and well appointed--a perfect layout for two couples. Close to restaurants and beaches but private and quiet. A special and memorable island retreat.

Charming and Comfortable

We spent a week at this well engineered home overlooking the Caribbean. The design of the home brings all of the attention to the generous outdoor living space, accessed by wide folding doors that allow the warm sea breezes to flow through the house. The outdoor space, always desirable on an island, includes plenty of shaded area and the solar heated pool. Inside the home is neatly apportioned with two comfortable bedrooms, en suite, separated by a great room boasting updated furniture and kitchen appliances, including a dishwasher. There is wifi, and a sonos speaker. It’s very comfortable. The best part of this home is that it’s well engineered. All the systems, water, power, etc, all work well. Power cuts occur on any island, but at this home, you will not notice. The views from the great room and the outdoor living space are over the valley and out to the Caribbean, perfectly calming.
Response from VrboOwner on 1 Apr 2020
Thank you for taking the time to write the review. Since this is a new vacation rental, your input is important to possible future guests! It was a pleasure meeting you and having you stay at Avalon. The villa is all that you describe, and more! Each time that I am there, I am struck by the breathtaking view, the comfort of the villa, and all of the touches which make it a perfect island retreat! Although, as Property Manager, I am there to work, I feel myself relaxing. There's just something very special about the space. I think it's the sizes of the rooms, the Nana Wall system which expands the outdoors inside, the peacefulness, and the feeling of comfort. Please return! We would be delighted to welcome you back!
