The cabin was exactly as described and even cuter than we expected. The "lake life" decor throughout the cabin was very well thought out. It had all of the amenities that our large family or 7 needed (and then some). The access to the lake was so close to the cabin and our kids loved it.

Great amenities and location!

Phil’s property was excellent, from the location to the amenities offered to guests. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, including the close proximity to restaurants/ice cream, the public dock at the end of the road, sandbar, and nearby pontoon rentals. We will definitely consider staying again!

Great place for a family vacation!

The house is very functional for a large group and is tastefully appointed. There is a large wrap around deck with enough Adirondack chairs to accomodate a large group. The grounds are woodsy with a great campfire pit and we set up a woods croquet course that was a blast to play. The lake is amazing and the water clarity is the best I’ve ever seen in a freshwater lake. We had a rented pontoon boat which we took to two of the large sandbars in the lake for swimming and partying.

Perfect for our big crew

We used all 5 bedrooms for 4 adults and 3 kids (each adult had their own queen sized bed). The kids room had 2 twin beds and a crib. It was nearly perfect! The deck and firepit made for some fun memorable days. This cottage is only a few houses away from the lake and a road end dock for swimming. I love that there are woods to look out over as well. Check out requirements were simple (unlike other places i have stayed) which i really appreciated. Wish we could have stayed a month! I should note that the road to the lake is more like a shared driveway. Not much traffic so it is a safe, fun walk down to the water. It was also paved so my mom could use her walker. Very nice!

Family vacation

Hosts were very accommodating, they had many items available for the grandchildren for sleeping arrangements & toys to play with. The home has a very nice deck and fire pit area. We rented a boat from B & B and enjoyed our stay at the lake as a family. The lake access was busy on the weekend with people virtually taking over the dock with lawn chairs, sunbathing, etc. but we realize this is no fault of the homeowner. Overall it was an awesome getaway!

We stayed a week was not long enough. Had a wonderful time lots of things to do up there .

Amazing Lake House

Wow! What a wonderful family gathering place. We cannot say Thank You enough to Phil and his lovely wife for hosting us at their amazing property. The house is spacious and beautiful (the pictures do not do it justice) and stocked with amenities beyond imagination. The hosts have left absolutely no stone unturned in providing their guests with every comfort. Having met them on check-in, I can assure you they take the greatest of pride in hosting their guests with a memorable experience, families will cherish for a lifetime. Amazing property, beautiful lake, Wonderful people. 5 stars are not enough!

Beautiful Serene Place!

This is one of the best rentals we’ve ever had. It was beautifully decorated with lake decor and it’s very spacious. Phil really opened his home to us, offering us anything in the barn that’s there’s we can use. The wrap around porch was wonderful to sit out and enjoy the view and surroundings. In the morning there were 6 deer in the woods and we got to see the sunset on the dock at the end of the street. Towels, bedding, plates, pans, cups, a wonderful coffee maker, big fridge were all provided. I couldn’t recommend this place more!

BEAUTIFUL, CLEAN, PERFECT LAKE HOUSE!!

This home is beautiful, comfortable and perfectly located. Not a single detail has been missed; from the lakehome decorations to the amazing forest fire pit and short walk down to the shoreline. We especially loved the hibachi cook top which allowed us to cook for the family outside while enjoying the amazing surroundings. Phil was an excellent host and responded to any questions we had right away. We look forward to our next visit. Thank you for sharing your family home with us. The Palmas.

Fun times at Higgins Lake

Hosts we're great. Home also super, lovely decor, so relaxing to hang out around campfire at night. Would have liked night lights. but overall, highly recommend a stay here. Access to lake a bonus for our group of swimmers!
