Pros: The house was conveniently located near Lake Keowee and Jocassee, which was where we spent most of our time. Was also great to have a parking pass to local state parks. The house was well furnished and comfortable, Plenty of beds for large families/guests. Easy check in & out, good communication with host. Overall clean. Cons: The highway noise from traffic was quite loud, esp at night while sleeping. We had trouble with the large dogs next door coming up to the house and scaring our dogs/children. They did not seem friendly as they were barking with their hackles up. They also "marked" on things left outside and our vehicles.
There was a waxy substance all over the floor. I thought it was water at first but then noticed how slippery it was and that I was tracking it all over the house. I text the owner and she said it was floor wax that had been applied 5 days before we arrived. I told her it was pretty slippery. She told us to just be careful. We pretty much stayed at one end of the house to avoid the floor wax.
Kitchen set up was nice. Only complaint is there was no regular coffee maker, just a kuereg. They did have pods for the kuereg and one we could fill with our coffee. The host was very nice and helpful!
The place was clean and close tomwhere we were headed. The only downfall was no grill and no wine opener. Also, was not thrilled that yiu showed up at 8 am and started yard work.
Can I get a refund of all monies since the owner cancelled, I reserved on July 11, 2023.
I asked owner about firewood on October 18 and she said that they would have firewood for us, and she cancelled me on October 19, the day of the trip!!

Disliked: Cleanliness
The plumbing was being worked on when we arrived. The house had a bad smell when first entered. This remained the whole stay. Opened all windows, but no air freshener was available. No large bowls or paper cups.We swept kitchen floor twice. Dust & grime in bathroom corners. Unsure about toilet paper usage? We were not there long. Only to sleep & beds were clean. Good location.
We had a great time and hope to come again. The house was beautiful and has a lot of amenities. It was about 10-15 mins away from Devils Fork Park. The host answered any questions we had quickly and courteously even (after our stay). Definitely recommend!
Our family enjoyed fun-filled days starting our day with a cup of coffee strolling along the creek, going on lake rides or taking hikes during the day, and sitting by the fire in the evenings.
