This home did not live up to the advertised post. The pictures were enhanced with Ai. There were a lot of issues, but the major issue was the lack of cleaning, old and used furniture (including patio) furniture as home furniture. Face and Body towels were disgusting. Looked like they were used in the owners home. Shower curtain, dirty and torn up at the bottom. Outside weather mats used as bath mats. So many other things, but the main issues was the home was not SANITIZED and items for guest to use was all used and worn. No issue with host, but I wasn’t happy with the the home. No exaggeration!

Joy was quite kind and dropped by to check how everything was after we had checked in. The rooms and bathrooms and living spaces were as expected. We had clean towels available and the stove, oven, microwave, and refrigerator were in good working order. There were curtains over all the transparent windows, hangers available in all the closets, and the bedsheets were clean. The beds were comfortable to sleep in. There were enough plates, cooking utensils, knives ( but no cutting boards), and other utensils for cooking/ baking, but not enough forks for all 10 guests. There were some concerns. We did not get our check in code until 4 pm. There was no informational folder upon arrival and we had to request for the WiFi code. Joy said the previous guests must have thrown it away. Everything was clean and swept, but the floors had not been mopped. Our socks were black from just walking around the first night and it felt a bit gritty when walking bearfoot. The water pressure in the shower in the half bath was non existent. The request for paper towels went unanswered. There was an old dirty sponge for dishes that had to be used since there is no dishwasher. A small amount of watered down dish soap (1/5th of the 3-4 oz bottle) was available for us to wash all our dishes. The kitchen is not stocked except for some coffee grounds, sugar, and some spices. There is only 1 pan and 1 pot available for cooking, but some oven trays were available.

Cozy home in Hawthorne

I was LA to complete a network refresh at a data center in the area. Upon arrival, Mrs. Joy met me outside and gave me a personal walkthrough on the home. The home had everything I needed to have a truly comfortable stay. Would definitely book here again, whether for work or vacation.

Bring pots and pans if you plan on cooking. There was only 1 skillet and 1 pan. Also bring towels if there's more than 1 night being stayed. If you plan on cleaning bring cleaning products as there was none or a mop. They also charge you to wash and dry. Even though it's a house.

Joy is very sweet, and lives on the property, if you need anything during your stay. Parking is interesting. Make sure to communicate the requirements with the host prior to booking.

Clean and lots of beds

The accommodations were clean and had lots of beds-two rooms had a double and a twin. The master had a queen and a baby bed. The owner lives in the house in front of the rental and very receptive to getting things that we needed- such as silverware. Small issue with one bathroom, but the owner had a team working on the issue. The house still is being renovated- some patchwork on the walls. Most of the property was newly renovated. During covid we were required to bring our own towels. The TV had netflixes available. There wasn't really a yard for the kids, however, the bedrooms were large with enough room to play. Beaches were very close- we love Manhattan Beach- very kid friendly and clean. Can't say enough about the kindness of the owner and her williness to make our visit relaxing and welcoming.
