About this property
New Waterfront Lake House - completed 2021
This new lake house rental is available by the week, checking in Saturday at 4 PM and checking out by 10 AM the following Saturday.
Built for vacationing with family and enjoying time on beautiful Great Pond. Enjoy kayaking, swimming and fishing right from your own own private dock with a pulley mooring system, easy to use and no need for a dinghy to get to and from your boat and dock. The house is filled with natural light and beautiful views of Great Pond from the living, kitchen and dining spaces. Easy to operate heating and cooling system to bring comfort to those chilly mornings or hot mid-summer nights.
On the main floor (driveway level) are two bedrooms with half bath, large bathroom with full laundry, large kitchen, dining, and living room areas. Walk out onto a large wrap-around deck 70'x10' overlooking the lake with dining for 8 and plenty of comfy chairs and end tables for relaxing. Decorated with earth-friendly materials wherever possible and furnished with non-toxic furniture and rugs.
Downstairs is where two kids' bedrooms are: one bedroom with a bunkbed (twin on top, double on the bottom) with storage drawers below the lower bed, and one with two twin beds with old MCM Danish headboards and a full bathroom nearby the bedrooms. Also a great room with large non-toxic sectional and TV, puzzle/game table and chairs. Great views of the lake through three large windows facing the lake and access outside via a sliding glass door.
The above rooms and beds sleep 9 comfortably. Spacious new kitchen with all new appliances, pots, pans, utensils, silverware, etc. Lobster pot included (please cook all lobsters outside on the side burner of the new grille)
Large deck wraps around the South and West (lake-facing) sides of the camp, with new grille, dining table and chairs, and lounging chairs.
Lakeside area with large dock, swimming area (not mucky like most shores, the shore is firm and sandy, though there are rocks along the shore, too - it's Belgrade!) Picnic table along the shore for afternoon lunches!
Well appointed kitchen, full laundry, books and games...lots of cozy furniture.
Handicap access for wheelchair access to a bedroom and a bathroom on main floor (truss construction has complicated this, so we will be building a ramp - no WC access at this time)
Large hangout area for kids downstairs with cozy new nontoxic sectional.
Multiple pieces of furniture made in Maine from reclaimed barn boards recovered from the Black Mansion in Ellsworth, Maine. Other furniture made by Amish and other shops from Ohio to Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Maine.

So enjoyed meeting you and Samantha and Zach, finally. It's becoming a neat tradition to have you stay with us! We so appreciate how well you keep our property and understand what it takes to keep it in top shape. Looking forward to discussing your next year plans! Enjoy your second week, Leigh and family - and extended friends and family!
We had the greatest time up at great Ponds in this beautiful location. It was just as the pictures showed and was very pleased with the location in the privacy of it. We hope to come back again very soon.
We had a great stay at this property. The space was comfortable and having access to the pond was amazing. We’ve already been talking about planning another visit!

Thank you, Brenda! We are pleased to know you enjoyed your stay and would welcome you back again.
We enjoyed our stay at this charming Belgrade lake house. The house was beautifully decorated, immaculate, and cozy for our week long stay while attending Colby graduation. Host was super organized, communicative, and provided everything we needed. Would definitely recommend staying here.
The house was great. It is well equiped, it has everything that you need for a stay with a big group. The house was very clean and the host very supportive and friendly; before and during our stay. All in all we had a great time.
We visited Maine to attend our son’s graduation at Colby College and stayed in this terrific home. It is very new and sparkling clean with comfortable beds and all the amenities we needed. About 25 minutes’ drive to the college. We were out and about all day and it was nice to come home to this peaceful and quiet place!

Very pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for taking excellent care of the lake house. We would love to host you again someday!
House was beautifully furnished, immaculately clean with a well appointed kitchen- absolutely everything we needed to cook for our big group (6-10 people) was there! AC & gas grill were excellent and a huge bonus! Beds are obviously new but all very firm (subjective for sure;) House sits on a small hill so short walk to lake needs a better shoe, not just a water shoe. The dock and lake are perfect!
It’s a lovely, bright well-maintained, comfortably furnished property. The owner is very responsive and helpful and clearly wants everyone to enjoy their time.
House is new, spacious and beautifully decorated. There weren’t any amenities we looked for that were missing. There is even more available than the listing states including chairs for the lakefront. Perfect for a large or extended family stay. The lakefront area and dock were great for enjoying the waterfront and for our boat. Ross and family were very responsive and accommodating.
I have only wonderful things to say about this beautiful, comfortable house, and the absolutely lovely lake—we swam and kayaked every day, heaven—and Ross, who was extremely helpful and communicative. One of the best rentals I've ever found, would not hesitate to return and recommend without reservation.

Thanks for your kind wrds, Hannah! We're glad you enjoyed your stay and had a great experience. That's what we are hoping to offer! Please feel welcome again in the future.
The camp is new and well stocked just like a home. Had the pleasure of meeting the owner on Saturday. We arrived two hours earlier and the camp was ready so we were allowed to move in. Had such a good time that everyone wants to return next year.
This is our third year in a row. Our adult family enjoys the fully furnished camp/house. The owners have thought of all your possible needs. Ross is available if you have any questions. This year we rented a pontoon boat from Maine Boat Rental. They are a great personal company to deal with. We are ready to do it again next year. The Loubier’s

It’s been pure goodness to have you these last three years. You take immaculate care of our lake house and appreciate our cleaners’ efforts to keep the place sparkling and ready. Thanks again so much for bringing your family again!
Super relaxing. Lovely setting and incredibly well-equipped house for my family of adult children, my wife and me. Canoe and kayak rental was easy but did add more cost. A possible addition to enhance the wonderful rental might be to add a couple of kayaks, life vests, and/or a canoe to make the experience even more complete.
The rental was incredibly clean and the property was immaculate. We used the grill multiple times and it worked great. The kitchen is well appointed. We rented a boat locally and using the portage system was simple. The AC kept the cabin areas cool when the temperature kicked up as well. Ross was great to work with throughout the entire process.

We enjoyed excellent communication with Eric and family and would welcome them back at any time. Left the place as they found it, perfect guests! Thanks
We had an excellent week at this camp. The house was well spotless, well-stocked , and comfortable. Our family spent many happy hours in the bright main space playing games at the long dining table and reading on the cozy sofas while the teenagers took over the TV and sectional downstairs and had a great time away from parents. Plus, the dock was great for paddle boarding, swimming or taking in the sunsets over the lake.
Ross also went out of his way to FedEx me my wallet after it fell unnoticed behind the bed. Thanks Ross!

Thank you for your recent stay and for taking great care of our place while you were here. We welcome you back in the future!
What a lovely spot to escape during the summer. The house is brand new and has nice common spaces for gathering. A short walk down the hill you are on your own dock and a beautiful lake.
Everything was perfect! Ross the owner is very nice and helpful.
We loved staying at this property and highly recommend it. Everything was new, neat, and very clean. The furnishings were lovely, and the view was stunning. The owner was very helpful with recommendations for dinner, shopping, etc. It was fully stocked with everything you could ever need.

Thank you, Connie, you and your small group were lovely to host. We hope you have long lasting memories of your stay with us and many more fun adventures ahead!
Property was beautiful and new and well-stocked. The term CAMP was exactly accurate. The spaces are lovely but compact. Designed to accommodate and super comfy inside; but encouraging and ideal to spend more time outside where space abounds. Overall, outstanding summer vacation and owners were extremely attentive to our needs.
My family and I had a wonderful time!
The house was the perfect fit for us, very clean and well equipped, and the location is outstanding.

About the host
Hosted by Ross Endicott
Ross and Christine Endicott own Endicott Home Furnishings|Condofurniture.com in Scarborough, Maine. Raising two children in Portland, Maine, the Endicotts have pioneered non-toxic furniture design for smaller spaces, contributing to legislation resulting in the strongest consumer protection from toxic chemicals in new furniture in the US. The background of their furniture business is based on responding to consumer needs and solving problems related to making the most of living in small spaces while protecting the overall environment and eliminating sources of indoor air pollution. As builders of this camp and the one up the hill 5 years before, the Endicotts have used recycled materials and new materials with no persistent chemicals, carcinogens, or other materials that may impact the increasing number of people experiencing multiple chemical sensitivity. (We do not guarantee that any person will have zero sensitivity, but the likelihood is very high that there is nothing that will cause respiratory or other adverse reactions in this camp. Like their furniture store's offerings, the lake house's design and material choices are safe, but no prescription or cure.)
Designing and building during COVID has been challenging, but we opted for the materials which we felt would best complement the setting (in the woods, next to the lake) while emphasizing ease and throughness of cleaning.
Why they chose this property
There are many potential hazards to renting a vacation home. This one was built for the purpose, by experienced hosts that have excellent ratings for responding to your needs and providing a safe, clean, healthy, and enjoyable property that is thoughtfully furnished and appointed. (see ratings on the other camp, listing 1152507)
Every effort has been made to create a fun and relaxing space for a family to enjoy, with all generations together, or smartly insulated from one another's activity...
Non-toxic furniture from the Endicotts own store and other sources complete a setting that is starting to get a name of its own: "Belgrade Modern".
What makes this property unique
Once again, we tried to build a camp that wheelchairs could access from ground level, and once again we faced compromises. We will eventually build a small ramp to enable wheelchair access to the entire main floor and deck, but because our choice of materials led to using tall floor trusses (so that there would be no posts breaking up the daylight basement space), that decision raised the first floor off the ground a couple of feet. Adult bedrooms are located in a separate wing, not over the great room where kids can congregate for games of a movie. Equipped with excellent, new environmental controls, the lake house also has excellent cross ventilation for those who prefer no AC.
