About this property

Beautiful Cabin Nestled in Trees (Dogs welcome)

Our chalet is perched up in the canopies of the evergreens offering beautiful views all around and blissful solitude. This cabin offers strong wi-fi, central heating, full kitchen, 2-player indoor basketball, board games, books, smart speaker, and wood-burning fireplace -- ready to help you to make some beautiful memories with friends and family. Just minutes from Calaveras Big Trees SP, our place boasts easy access to hiking, swimming, and endless outdoor adventures! Up to 2 pets welcome. (A flat-fee of $100 for pet.)

The cabin has three levels.

The entrance level of the cabin has a unique wall and storage benches for ski gear and toys. This level has the master bedroom with full bath and the laundry room. The super fun basketball game for 2 players with digital scoreboard is on this level! The master bedroom room sleeps 4 -- 2 on the queen bed and 2 on the full-size futon.

The main level has a full kitchen, dining area, family area with a wood burning fireplace, a full bath, and two bedrooms.

Enjoy the many board games and books, play some tunes on the smart speaker, get some crackling fire going for s'mores in the wood-burning fireplace during winter or get grilling on the deck during summer, and enjoy some quality time with friends and family.

The outdoor space around the cabin is special -- endless snow fun during winter months -- snow sledding, snowball fights, and a little tree machan / pirate boat all year around.

Safety note: Children are welcome, but the cabin is NOT childproofed. Access to the loft in the cabin is using a stairway that is more like a ladder. The handrails start at the 5th rung of the ladder. Younger kids need to be closely supervised when getting up and down from the loft.

Winter/Spring Reservations:
Checking in November-April? There may be snow! At 5000 feet above sea level, we can get a lot (or no) snow. Visiting in the snow requires more planning, though we think it is well worth it.

When planning your visit with us during the winter, please consider the following:
1. You may need chains/4wd on Hwy 4 to get here. Check CalTrans to see road conditions.
2. We do keep our driveway plowed, but it has little bit of a grade and can be difficult to get up when slippery. You may need 4wd in slippery conditions .
3. Be sure to bring lots of wood for fires in the fireplace! The furnace works well for heating, but nothing beats a roaring fire for making the house cozy and for making s'mores.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

Awesome Cabin, Great location. Spicer Sno-park is a short drive away. The kids enjoyed the attic area to hang out. I would rent this cabin again!

Great family spot

We had a very easy and relaxing experience. Everything in the house was in great working condition. Our two boys had a great time with all of the games and toys that were at the house. Both boys loved the basketball game. The house was perfectly set up for a small family. Everything we wanted to do Big Trees hiking and White Pines lake was only about a 5 to 10 min drive away. Small market right down the street was great for any last minute items that you might need. We will return! Thank you!

Hideaway close to nature attractions

The place makes you feel secluded even thought there are neighbors around. I enjoyed the balcony/patio very much: located on the second floor, you see trees around you and feel as if you are far away. Located on beautiful hwy 4, in a small town, very easy access to lakes, parks, Bear Valley. If you want to get away from noise, people, be close to nature (many nature attractions to choose from), but yet know that you easily can go back to civilization - that's the place for you.
