Welcome to the lovely hamlet of West Kill. Not so long ago, West Kill was known as the flyfishing capital of the world. The creek across the street from our house is about 100 ft wide, crystal-clear and has trout. The creek is also a source of drinking water for NYC, however, you are welcome to wade and splash in it as you please. For kids, the creek is a particular joy and a scientific interest: you can clearly see to the bottom and observe all sorts of life.

For parents, we have lots of fun to do as well, including super hot ex-NYC restaurants and bars, amazing craft breweries, Swiss-style hiking, paddling on the lakes, and so much more! We typically send out detailed instructions with things to do upon your booking.

At an approximately 3,000 sq ft, the house gives you ample room to spread out. The main floor features 9ft ceilings, a living room with two couches, tren an armchair and a TV, a dining room with the turn of the last century hand-carved dining table, and two more rocking armchairs for your rest & relaxation. Also on the main floor, a bedroom/study with an ensuite 1/2 bath. The study is a full bedroom, too: the futon opens into a double bed, and we have extra linens if you decide to use the bedroom. Also on the main floor, a well-equipped kitchen with a double stove, deep double porcelain farm sink, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, kettle, food processor and a washer and a dryer.
Go up the original staircase to the second floor where you'll find three bedrooms: 1) a large primary bedroom with a windowed walk-in closet, a dresser, an exercise bike and a cloud-inspired light fixture for better dreams, 2) a large bedroom with two twin beds, two dressers and a closet, 3) a third bedroom with a double bed, a desk with a chair and a dresser. Also on the second floor is a full bath with a trendy black-and-white tile, a powerful rain shower or a hand-held shower, and a brand-new sink.
Outside the kitchen door you will find a green expanse that will lead you to a very private tree-hedged dining area complete with a barbeque, a string of fairy lights, an antique table, bar stools and an outdoor sofa set.

We have a coded electronic lock pre-programmed for you. The code changes for every guest to maintain security.

Ask us about maid service and farm fresh egg, groceries and other deliveries (possibly ahead of your arrival), so you can enjoy your vacation to the fullest!

* Please note that we love European-style bedding and hope you do too! All blankets are duvets and are enclosed in duvet covers that we thoroughly wash between each visit. As a result, all the surfaces you touch in the bed are clean and you do not have to ever touch a comforter that could have been used by someone else like you would in many hotels. That also means that you do not need a flat sheet -- we hope you find that the duvet cover is a more comfortable and practical solution!

Short stay in old fashioned house

If you've lived in an old house before, then you know what to expect. It was good for our needs during our short stay. The house is spacious and there is lots of light. The beds were comfortable and the water pressure was awesome. There is an a/c in every upstairs bedroom.

Hi, we genuinely love the Catskills and always find and point out to our guests the cool international vibe. In general, we love traveling, whether to get away for a weekend, or vacation for a month or even two. We've travelled a lot in the past across all continents, and experienced many challenges. And that was before we had kids! As a result, and with our own first-hand memories as our guide, we are continuously reinventing and improving our guests' experience based on the guests' feedback and much more.

Why they chose this property

We love this house -- it is very calm, yet Catskills' cool. The kitchen is always ready for a dinner with family or random friends dropping in for a fun evening. Our favorite part, however, is the backyard complete with stars, amazing firefly shows, and clouds passing by.

What makes this property unique

It's a large two-story house, renovated, stylish and with all the modern amenities. You will feel refreshed and rested and ready for your next day's adventures in the super hot Catskills!
