Home was clean and nicely decorated with comfortable beds. Great amenities with the paddleboard, canoe and kayak. Owner was very responsive and helpful and would definitely book again.
This house and location was perfect for our family trip. The private beach was fabulous for my little ones to explore. We loved trying out the kayak and paddle board. The island is quiet and comfortable. We had a great trip.
The house was wondeful. Just the right size for our family of 4. The cove is right off the backyard, we had a private beach the whole time. We are talking about going back next year!

Thank you so much! We would love to have you back :)
We loved our stay on Islesboro. It's quiet and beautiful with lots to explore. The house is perfect for a family. We kayaked and paddled in the bay, swam when it was sunny and sailed in Seal Cove with the Big Tree Sailing school. Perfection

Gorgeous location, but a bit out of the way
This property is gorgeous and is located right on the northern shoreline of Islesboro, but the ferries made it difficult to explore places like Acadia. If you’re looking for a relaxing spot to sit and enjoy coastal Maine, this is a great location.
Summerset Cottage was just the place my husband and I needed for a quiet getaway. Without the bustle of summer crowds, we were able to explore the unique island of Islesboro and return "home" to the beautiful setting and cozy comfort of this wonderful home. Thank you for sharing it with us, Cate.
My family and I had a wonderful stay at the property. Everything about the house/ property was as advertised and the location was picturesque.
The only minor critique was that the jacuzzi tub did not work. Could be used as a tub, with no jets. Did not spoil anything for us, but it would have been nice if it worked.
Wonderful place to stay overall, would definitely consider going again in the future!

Thank you, Chris! I'm so glad you had a good stay. Re the tub: We're working on it. The power company has to come increase the size of the transformer on the end of the road before it will work :/
We couldn’t have been happier with this home. The location was perfect, it was tidy and bright and had everything you need to have a relaxing weekend by the water. We visited with our 11 month old and another couple with a 2 year old. The kids loved being at the beach and the house was very friendly to the littles. The kitchen is stocked with all the necessities plus some. We look forward to coming back again! Thank you for sharing your beautiful space and making it so special.

Amy, we're so glad you had such a great stay! Especially the littles :) We look forward to having you back!
This place exceeded our expectations! Soooo peaceful. My husband and I are from Texas (currently 100 degrees), so the fall weather, peace, colors and beauty were what we needed. The property and view are spectacular. The sunsets were my favorite! We stayed 6 days/5 nights. We explored the Island and hiked Turtle Head Preserve. We spent one day at Acadia NP- It is possible to do if you have a plan. I suggest reserving a spot at 7:30am and 5pm for the Ferry just in case. It does cost extra but worth it. We arrived at 9:45 and left at 3. Plenty of time to explore a few trails and shop. The host has everything you need to cook, even a pot to cook Lobster! The king size bed and pillows were very comfortable, and I’m VERY picky. We were sad to leave but will definitely be making this trip again!

Ashley, thank you so much for staying with us! So glad to know the trip to Acadia worked and would love to have you back :)
The home was very well represented from the pictures; however, the ocean views from the home, private beach and yard can only appreciated in person. We loved the fire pit every night and seeing the stars at night. We never seen soo many stars.
The kitchen is very big and spacious with everything you need to make a feast. The beds were very comfortable. Taking out their ocean canoe was sooo much fun. There is a newly built pier so walking out on it was nice. The owners went out of their way to make sure we had an amazing time. They helped me hook up to their sonos speakers which made cooking a lot more fun. There was a big storm that took out the electricity on the island for a few hours. The owners had a generac generator with gas ready and walked us through the hook up so we didn't lose a beat on having fun. I really appreciated it! I loved being on the island and this home and will be coming back again next summer or sooner. It was a really cool memorable experience. I really didn't want to write this review because I don't want to make this place too popular but for the owner's business I felt it would be a nice thing to do. Thanks again! See you soon!
This cottage is perfection. We spent a long weekend in May for our anniversary and could not have asked for a more beautiful place to stay. The idyllic weather was an added bonus to the lovely home, the sunsets and tranquility. We will absolutely be back… next time for a much longer stay! Thank you, Cate, for being an amazing host!
Cottage was as It looked in the pictures online. Very clean and comfortable. We all enjoyed our stay. Walked the beach during low tide. The sunsets were beautiful. Would definitely recommend renting this property.
We had a great time while staying on Islesboro Island.
The house, property and location were exactly as shown on VRBO.
We enjoyed preparing lobster dinners at the home, evening campfires sitting around the fire pit and morning coffee on the porch.
All in all a perfect place to relax, unwind and enjoy everything Maine has to offer.
Easy access to the beach and waterfront, extremely comfortable interior, and peaceful location make this little spot on Islesboro a one-in-a-million find.
From the moment we walked in, we were struck by the sense of relaxation that washed over us. The house is spacious yet calming, due in part to the measured and thoughtful choices the owners made regarding furniture and decor, where it seemed to us that the focus was solely geared toward comfort (instead of on kitschy knick-knacks like at so many other places we’ve stayed).
The directions to the house were detailed and clear – and I highly advise you follow them because GPS and Google Maps will suggest a couple of wrong turns down private roads.
The kitchen had everything we needed, and the cupboards provided essentials – flour, salt, oil, etc. – that we so often forget to bring with us. And although we didn’t end up getting any lobster, they have a great set-up outdoors for a wood-fired lobster boil. Next time!
Mornings were spent sitting on the back-deck sipping coffee, and we packed the afternoons with beach combing, hiking, and paddling around the bay. In the evenings, we ate while watching the sun set and then built a fire in the fire pit, listening to the waves lap at the shore.
Our stay at Islesboro was easily the highlight of our vacation to Maine, and we can’t wait to stay here again.

Thank you so much for the lovely review! We look forward to having you back!
The pictures actually undersell this beautiful property. Private, beautiful, and everything you could ask for in a Maine island vacation. The property was clean and had all the amenities needed. We all loved the long beach, quiet ocean waters, and comfortable home. The wrap around deck and covered porch with a couch made for nice afternoon napping. Strongly recommend this property for others.
