We love the quiet of the neighborhood. The beautiful view of the river. Nice place for our weekend getting away. Thank you for the eggs and wine! We definitely are going back sooner.
very pet friendlyclean and had everything we neededquiet and relaxingthe hosts were very friendly and helpfulenjoyed fishing and the fish fry they had for us.
We stayed for a week for my grandson's HS graduation fishing trip. We had a wonderful time. The guys took a couple of fishing trips from Surfside and I relaxed at this lovely cottage. We had everything we needed and the owners are very responsive and willing to help in any way they can. It was fun to watch the birds, we saw Roseated Spoonbill that are beautiful when they fly over. There were dolphins and alligator in the river. It was so pleasant. Crabbing was excellent and we had a crab boil. Fishing wasn't great in the river due to the previous rain. We appreciated the bottle of wine, eggs and fish!
The house was perfect clean and tidy with plenty of blankets. Los of room to relax if you had 5-6 people. It was just my wife and I so it was even better. The host was super perfect, nice, and have is plenty of privacy. Kitchen had all the utensils needed to cook with so you don't need to get anything extra.
Loved everything about the place and had a much needed, relaxing weekend. Host was very nice and informative of the area, just wish I had more days to stay, will definitely book again for the summer. Thank you and your husband for we will have a seafood Christmas this year!
We had a very nice stay. The cabin was clean, cozy and well stocked with everything we needed. The host was very nice and informative. We felt welcome and enjoyed a quiet weekend.
I absolutely, loved the serenity of this place, decor was on point. We had an almost time and immediately upon arrival I felt like family. Thank you guys for welcoming us with open arms!
Thw hosts were very kind and helpful. The cabin was nice, clean, and had everything we needed. Really nice oitdoor seating with loghts for fisjing the channel at night. We really enjoyed our stay.
Greeted with a bottle of *grown up grape juice*… farm fresh eggs were gathered for the morning. And it just kept getting better. Crab traps are provided, a generous size dip net, spotlights for night fishing, propane grill, 4 patio chairs & 2 loungers, corn hole set, soaps, hair care products, fresh ground coffees, foil, plastic wrap, & plenty of blankets. I list these things because I think all of the aforementioned items go above and beyond what most standard VRBOs provide. There’s a charming side porch along the waterline that’s fully shaded in the morning - so sunrise with a cup of coffee is pleasant … even in the hot summer. One bedroom is downstairs for a couple that might not want to navigate the steep stairs. There’s a handrail to help you balance. It’s fine. Plenty of temperature control with air units in nearly every single space. SmartTV in the living room was perfect. And there are tons of DVDs in case you’re not into streaming. Not exactly part of the rental, but a perk during our stay was that the owners across the street let us use their dock to put crab traps in deeper water AND watch for dolphins. My family didn’t want to leave. I’d give this place an 11 out of 10.
Relaxing stay with plenty of fishing, crabbing, and quiet moments by the water. Great for the family, peaceful, charming, and full of character. We’d definitely come back!!
My husband and I have had a house here on the river since 2002. We love the quiet, the fishing and most of all the neighbors. We live a very quiet and relaxing life here on fisherman's isle.
Why they chose this property
We bought this property from a very dear friend of ours to start our adventure into vacation rentals. This house has a lot of history behind it, years ago this was a crabbing and shrimping community, and this house was where the old sandy bait shop was operated out of. The fishing, boating, kayaking and bird watching are amazing here. You never know what kind of fish you may catch or what species of bird you may see!
What makes this property unique
This house is located on an Island (Fisherman's Isle) on the San Bernard River, which we also live on the island. The area is great for fishing, boating and family fun.
