We are sorry to hear that our cottage did not meet your expectations. We do try to be very transparent through our listing pictures to show flooring, layout, etc. This is a well enjoyed, family-owned camp that does have some wear and tear, and while the carpets are dated, they are not dirty. The carpets are shampooed twice a year and thoroughly vacuumed between stays. There are a few missing linoleum tiles in the threshold area because we recently replaced the main entrance door. This area is covered with a floor mat, and we did not expect this would interfere with anyone’s enjoyment of this peaceful, lakefront property. There is NO mold in this camp, which has undergone two inspections in the last four years related to purchases and sales of the property. There are ants, spiders, mosquitos, etc. in and around the camp because it is located on a lake, in Maine, in the summer. However, there is no ant infestation as you described. There is some old water staining on the ceiling due to a previously leaking roof, which is why we replaced the roof this spring. I am an asthmatic and stay here throughout the year without issues. The property is suited for children, adults, and elderly as evidenced by those who stay here. This husband and wife team again apologize for not meeting your expectations. We feel we are providing great value for the experience this property offers our guests on one of eastern Maine's most desirable bodies of water.
