We had 8 of us come up for a guys weekend. The house was a winner for us. The great room was the hub of house and provided plenty of room for us to hang out, play games, eat, etc. The bed rooms were good sized and the beds were very comfortable. The house had everything you need to getaway and relax. The only thing that I would nitpick would be the pool table. It's a challenge to play pool with the layout of the basement. Paul was very responsive with any questions and was a very good host.
Not sure how to rate 4.5 stars, but that is what I would rate this place. It was immaculate and the perfect size for five adults and four kiddos. Two reasons for the half star deduction - internet speed and my bed (too hard, for me). If these don’t matter, 5 stars all the way. And I am very hard to please.
Paul, the host, communicated perfectly. If he will have us again, we will definitely come back.
Secluded location with all the amenities. Kitchen was well stocked with equipment for cooking and serving. It was so warm and homey and well decorated...streaming tv only but who needs TV there anyway?? We loved the gear storage area--made it so easy to load and unload before and after skiing. One suggestion would be to have better preparation for fires-the lighters did not work and we looked everywhere for a book of matches. Also the wood was damp so took a while to start. But our eagle scouts made it happen! Thank you for such a wonderful place!
I've been renting ski houses for my family's Christmas ski vacation for years and this has been my favorite house by far.
The house itself is beautiful. Exactly like the pictures. The beds were firm and comfortable with quality linens. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking for a large group although I'd suggest Paul and Michelle add a large frying pan to the supplies as making pancakes for 8 in a 10" skillet is a bit tricky.
The layout of the house is also great. I originally booked the house for 6 adults and one toddler but the ground floor room with four bunkbeds and separate bathroom and sitting area allowed my adult son to invite two of his friends whom I neither saw nor heard.
The hot tub was hot, the sauna was hotter and both were well used and appreciated by the family after long chilly days on the slopes. The smart tv offers every possible streaming service however, if there was broadcast TV available I wasn't able figure out how to use it despite what appeared to be satellite dishes on the roof. Only my husband was disappointed by this however. I was delighted. No annoying football games.
Checking in was a breeze and any question I had was pretty quickly answered by our hosts. Even though this is a pretty traditional winter ski-house, it's close to awesome hiking trails and lakes and would also make a nice getaway spot in any season.
My friends and I had a wonderful time at Paul and Michelle's cabin. The house is stunning and the common area is perfect for fellowship: open kitchen, dining room table, comfy couches, TV and a fireplace. The surrounding area is calm and the foliage is stunning this time of the year. The location is 15 minutes from Stratton mountain and nearby towns, like Dover. The house amenities (sauna and hot tub) were perfect for some post-hike recovery. The beds were comfortable and the entire property was very clean. Paul and Michelle were extremely kind and responsive and provide everything you need for a great stay, from lots of towels to cleaning supplies. 10/10 recommend this place and hope to be back in the future!
The house had everything well stocked kitchen, good amount of extra towels and very clean. Very quiet neighborhood. I would stay there again. Thanks for a relaxing stay
Great place for a weekend away from it all. We stayed in the spring and had a great time. Hot tub and sauna are amazing! I'm sure this place is next level during ski season!
Paul and Michelle have turned their home into a perfect mountain rental property. We stayed for two nights with a crew of 10 people. The house was spotless, the hot tub was luxurious, and the property is gorgeous. Everyone in my group commented on how comfortable their bed was. And there was ground coffee and a bottle of wine left by the hosts for us to enjoy. I would stay here again in a heart beat. Thank you very much!
Our family had a wonderful time in this beautiful house. It was a welcoming space to enter, especially after a long day on the slopes! Kids loved the ground level with the air hockey & games & we all loved the open floor plan and roaring fireplace on the main floor. It really was a perfect location & had all the amenities that makes the trip less of a hassle without having to pack towels & sheets. We would definitely return. 👍
The house is beautiful! We enjoyed the Sauna, hot tub and fireplace. The rooms and layout were perfect! Great location close to many ski resorts. Definitely a must stay!
The house was perfect. Bigger than we even realized. It was decorated so nicely and everything was warm and inviting. Even a beautiful touch of a note with a bottle of wine. We loved the hot tub and the sauna. The communication was great with Paul was great. The house had everything we needed. The kids played monopoly and video games downstairs. Unfortunately, the ski conditions were horrible. I didn't even go to the mountain. Mt Snow is about 10 minutes away. In typical fashion, a foot of snow was getting dumped on the day we left. I was so happy to have such a beautiful house to stay in despite the ski conditions which of course no one would could control. We will definitely be back.
Had a great time here with eight friends, the central common area/kitchen was the perfect place to congregate. Can confirm the hot tub works even I'm zero degree weather and snow!
This location was accurately represented online and even more beautiful in person. It fit my friends and I perfectly and we greatly enjoyed the surround sound speakers. We are already talking about coming back to this location for a ski trip in the winter!
It was a gorgeous property, great location for our stay. The only reason for my four star review is the value. It was not worth the price. I’ve paid the same amount for much more remote and private location with more amenities. HOWEVER it was an absolutely stunning home, ample space for many people and very clean. The owners were amazing and left us little gifts for our anniversary which goes a long long way. All in all I would leave 4.5 stars if I could. I recommend highly.
