About this property
Creekside Retreat at Bald Top Mountain
This is a creekside 1st story retreat located at Bald Top Mountain with one bedroom (queen), a full bathroom, living room, and kitchen. Outside, there is a patio with 2 chairs, a couch, and table where you can sit and listen to the babbling brook and enjoy the views of the waterfalls, nature, and greenery. (The upper level of the property is a permanent rental.)
The property is private and rural, but conveniently located within 1/2 hour drive of Chimney Rock, Lake Lure, Asheville, the Biltmore, Blue Ridge Parkway, Asheville Airport, and the Pisgah National Forest. It's not a long drive off the main road, and doesn't require a 4 x 4; however, due to recent storms and traffic from utility & construction companies further up the mountain, the asphalt in a short area of the road is crumbling and rutted. You'll still be able to get up the road (the property manager drives a Toyota Corolla), but you'll need to drive VERY slowly there.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

Everything was really nice. The little creek and all was very relaxing to sit beside on the porch. Lot's of trees and shade. Inside was clean and we enjoyed our stay.
We loved staying here especially hearing the sound of the little waterfall outside the door! Everything was clean & the location was perfect. My only wish was that the bed was a bit bigger, felt closer to a full than a queen.
This property was absolutely amazing, clean and in a great location! Its close enough to town, less than 20 minutes, but far enough away to enjoy the mountain life! There is a beautiful creek running through the back yard and a fire pit where we sat and enjoyed the tranquility! 10/10 recommend and we will be returning, thank you for the amazing stay!
Our experience was wonderful. Great location near many attractions and hikes. The road leading to the driveway is a little bumpy - drive slow if at night when pulling up the the property. Hosts were great and experience was wonderful. Feels like home. Perfect for a couple getaway where you get to enjoy nature and each other.

Thanks, Karim. We love it for the reasons you gave and more. Thanks for bringing up that bumpy part in the road, too. I think I'll add it to the listing and welcome guide so people are aware of it. Thanks again for the great review, and we hope to see you again.

My fiancé and I just wanted to get away from the city. We stayed 12 days. We built a fire in 2 of the 3 fire pits. We relaxed. It was so nice and clean and quiet.

Thanks for the 5 star review Danielle! We're so glad you enjoyed a relaxing getaway for such a special occasion. We enjoyed having you and would welcome you again any time! All the best!
The rooms were very clean and very nicely decorated with current art and new furniture. The bed was comfy, shower was great (even a bathroom heater) and each room was spacious. The porch was so nice because it looked out at the beautiful trees and walkways. The road to the home was a little rough but we could easily steer around the holes. I would definitely love to stay here again.
This small place is a gorgeous getaway from reality. Quiet and the front yard is literally a nature trail and creek. Kitchen is stocked with everything you need to cook. Bed is a little too firm for my liking but other than that plenty of storage for clothes. Overall very clean and cozy. I enjoyed my stay and would love to return
a marvelous hideaway!
this property has so many hidden spots in its landscaping that beg to be discovered, including trickling waterfalls.
the interior is exactly as shown in the photos, quite comfortable, and extremely clean.
we never saw yet heard the neighbor upstairs from time to time. not an issue as it was clearly in the property description.
there are a handful of tv channels and solid internet connectivity when and if you'd like.
all in all, this is a wonderful property and we will certainly rent the lower level again with pleasure!

Thank you for the great 5 star review, Susie. It is the beauty of the peaceful natural surroundings that we love so much, too. We would love to have you again!
This is a GORGEOUS stay! The view, the trails, and the creek right outside the door made such a cozy location.
I have a few recommendations for future guests: rent/drive a STURDY car/suv/truck- this is quite literally up a mountain and in the woods, the last road up is missing chunks in the road, and our little sedan almost didn't make it, especially driving at night.
Next, this is the right stay if you're planning on staying in and staying in the beautiful nature it provides. It's not exactly ideal if you're driving into town every day- count on a minimum of 20 mins (and more like 30-40) into civilization.
We loved the place! The location wasn't ideal for our purpose of travel (wedding in Asheville) because of the driving, BUT it IS ideal for a backpacking, mountain loving, secluded woodsy person!
We'd absolutely stay again. The host was always available whenever we needed her!

Hi Marissa, Thanks for the 5 star review. We love it for the beautiful views, trails, and creek as well! I'm sorry you felt your car was not going to make it up the hill. One of our cars is a 2004 Toyota Corolla, and though we have to drive carefully in that section of the road, we've never felt like it wasn't going to make it. That said, we do understand that different amounts of experience with hilly driving probably provide different perspectives. 8-) Thanks, and we’d love to have you again!

Property Managers
It was a wonderful place. Close enough to be able to do things but far enough away to enjoy the quiet and beautiful surroundings. The property manager was nice and helpful and everything was amazing. Definitely will revisit.
Our stay was a pleasant experience in a home nestled in the woods with luxurious looking vegetation in our direct view. Short paths lead down into rhododendrons and other flowering bushes. The peace much appreciated after a superb time exploring along the Blue mountain parkway.
Easy property to book and people to work with. A quaint but large space for our young family. We were all over Hendersonville and this is a great jump off point tucked in the orchards.
This property was in the woods by a babbling creek. So peaceful and quiet. The apartment had everything you could ask for, and very spacious.

What makes this property unique
The property sits next to a creek with waterfalls and is very peaceful. It's very relaxing to sit on the patio and listen while watching nature. Cross over the small bridges to explore walking paths, boulders, plants, flowers, and wildlife.
