Closest Inn to Deep Water in St James City. Perfect for monthly rental!

Welcome to Southernmost Inn on Pine Island! Come and enjoy a relaxing stay on the water in our "Reel Suite". Compared to any other Inn in St. James City we can honestly say, "If you had stayed at the Southernmost, you could be fishing already!" Avoid the ten to fifteen-minute boat ride up the canal's "no wake" zones.

Reel is a one-bedroom, one-bathroom suite with a full kitchen so is perfect for a short or long stay. The bathroom has a walk-in shower for easy in and out. Our boat dock is right off the lanai as are the beautiful sunsets over San Carlos Bay. There are charcoal bbq's along the dock and a fish cleaning station available. Slips are available for your own boat or a boat can be arranged as part of your stay, both for additional charge.

There are two full beds in the bedroom and the living room has a sleeper sofa, so 6 can sleep comfortably.

There is a full kitchen with everything you need to enjoy making your own meals, or you can go right next door to The Waterfront restaurant. There are also many other restaurants in the area.

You can sit and sip your coffee and enjoy the water view while sitting in the screened lanai. You will see many forms of Florida wildlife! There is also a small sandy beach a one-minute walk from the property.

Nice place

It's a nice place to stay. The rooms are nice and lanai wonderful place to sit. Restaurant next door is nice though patrons like to take the parking Infront of your lodgings.

Great place for anglers, right on the water, easy access to pine island sound and great fishing whether boat kayak or just from the dock!

Fantastic family getaway

Very nice property as described host was wonderful and very attentive. We enjoyed the back dock where we spotted many various fish starfish osprey and the occasional manatees. Nice laid back trip without the hustle and bustle locals we spoke with were all very kind and welcoming.

Nice! Going to be even better!

We arrived by boat and found everything very convenient. Loved the place and location. Waterfront restaurant next door was awesome too. The room was well appointed and very clean. Only reason for not giving this 5 stars was they are still improving the grounds and not quite finished. Will be even better in the future. Also the beds were a bit uncomfortable.even though we managed to sleep OK. We do plan to come back!

Great Stay with Beautiful Sunrise Views

My friends and I loved our stay! You can watch the sunrise at a small beach right by the property. Very beautiful! You can also sit on the patio and watch boats go out into the bay from a pier, there were also dolphins and pelicans visiting the waterway. The house was clean and had everything we needed for 3 people. I would 100% stay again. Louise was very easy to communicate with and was really accommodating.

Nothing Short of Spectacular

I must start by stating that the owner of this property is a wonderful addition to this world!! The property itself was ideal in every way. It sits on a canal that opens up to the bay. My kids and I caught all kinds of fish, all day, and all night long! The area is quiet and beautiful. The sunsets were amazing!! The property was extremely clean and well kept. It has all you need. Even the cookware was very high quality. This is a place my kids and I will return to many times. You can book this one with full confidence. The pictures do not do it justice!

Cute little apartment

Louise was a wonderful host. The listing is just as stated. It has a lovely view of a waterway and is located at the very tip of the island. The apartment had everything we could’ve needed and very comfortable beds. We did check out early because I am a dingdong and did not read about Pine Island in advance. It’s beautiful. It’s also under reconstruction which is completely understandable from hurricane Ian. They’re doing a beautiful job. Primary frustration was that there are no beaches on this island. And the closest one by car is a hour and a half. Which is why we booked the trip. So one hundred percent my bad. We did take a boat taxi to one of the closer islands one day and it was magnificent. The sunsets here are incredible. If you’re a fisherman or a fisher family? This is the place for you! And the grocery store is only a 10 minute drive. It really is a wonderful listing.

Louise and David live in Ft Myers near the bridge to Sanibel Island. Louise is a teacher and David is an electrical engineer. Both grew up in Canada near Toronto and lived for the past twenty years in California, moving to Southern Florida last year. David & Louise also own Crescent Island, just south of the Southernmost Inn (also available on VRBO).

Why they chose this property

The Southernmost Inn is by far the closest Inn to deep water (San Carlos Bay) in St James City and perhaps in the whole Matlacha/Pine Island area. When we say "two minutes" we mean two minutes without all the long canals at "no wake" speeds or shallow water to navigate. Southernmost is also right next door to the Waterfront Restaurant, which is a great restaurant with a full bar next door. Also nearby there is a fresh seafood market, grocery, hardware, and other amenities. A small sandy beach is within 1 minute walk. Outside your lanai you will find bbq's and a long dock with slips for your boat (bring your own or rent from us).

What makes this property unique

"Fishing Faster" on the way out, "Beer Faster" on the way in. Great views. Parking at the southernmost part of the Island where parking is at a premium. Laundry facilities. Fish cleaning station. Bicycles and Kayaks available. Nearby sandy beach.
